We were excited to see Patron come to Jasper. Good Mexican food is sorely lacking in East Texas…read more Unfortunately, it still is. We first gave this place a try a few weeks ago, when they were newly open. My bride got beef fajitas, which appeared to be nothing more than unseasoned sirloin steak sliced thin. The meat was tough and flavorless. My carne guisada was edible; that's all I'll say about it. Since they were new (although they have other locations in East Texas), we decided to withhold judgment until we gave them another shot. Today, my bride got the mushroom chicken and I got the enchilada dinner with a taco and a cheese "puff." One thing both dishes had in common: bland, bland, bland. (I have to add: so is the salsa, and it's thin enough to drink through a straw.) and my cheese "puff" was just a small tortilla bowl full of queso. We go to Houston a LOT, so we know good Mexican food when we find it. Patron ain't it. They'll do well in Jasper because there's pitifully little competition. But they wouldn't last a weekend in a location with decent Mexican food nearby.

The restaurant and pub offers lots of seating options, indoor, outdoor, couches or at the bar. Tonight I had the avacado chicken bacon sandwich which I think was just average. Unfortunately our waitress wasn't as attentive. She never offered refills and we had to locate a bottle of ketchup. I will say to try the margarita soft serve but try the lime flavor. I didn't care for the watermelon flavor.

My opinion is due to staffing. However for this that would like to have a nice Malbec or Chardonnay with delicious oriental food..... well all you get is water, tea, or soda. Hmmmm that reminds me of my days of living in Waco, Texas. This place has huge potential if they would at least have a wine list. Liquor like mix drinks could be passed up, but why take away beer/wine from your past customers.....?
