I had always thought well of this establishment. today I called to order because it said open at 11:00am, the guy who answered the phone said I couldn't get my order before 12:00 he was pulling out his hair screaming there's no meat??? then he said we open at twelve then we drove to pick up and he said NO MEAT I finally gave up told him that someone should be doing the prep before they open it was already around 11:30 and he was loosing it. unprofessional and then he slammed down the phone hung up. I was pretty let down by this. It cost me a lot of money and I got three sparse little tacos with relatively good but not so tender meat in them. The Taste was pretty good after you got through the ice cold vegetables that chilled your teeth and made your way down to the meat. They were put in the box so haphazardly that they were all over the place. Such a letdown. read more

Boo guys. :( I'm giving a 3 only because we have usually had a great experience. We were super rushed on the phone. I asked for no cilantro on one burrito, got a hunk of it at the end of said burrito. I asked for a vegan and got it. Only problem was both burritos were cold. Like, cold! One burrito, cheese was falling out in shards. We asked for cheese on the side for our nachos. We were told we get it melted or not at all. But the burrito cheese was ice cold? Weird. Delivered for $45. 2 burritos. 1 nature nacho. Not executed at all. Delivery kid was great. Tipped him np. Again. This would be a 1 except it's covid times and we have usually had a good experience. You can even have one stuffed with a Reggie's Burger for the fun of it. The zesty garlic sauce is delicious and the house made habanero sauce won't blow your head off. Really great burritos! The staff were super friendly and made the experience super enjoyable! The one thing keeping it from 5 stars is that the hot sauce is INSANE. I'm pretty good with heat, and I went for the more mild of two hot sauces, yet I could not get halfway through the burrito before I had to call it quits. by far our favourite take out spot in town! we've been frequenting here since we moved to Peterborough 5 years ago and it truly is the best! we get the burritos and they are delicious and a great portion, not to mention the customer service is excellent. they know what our order is as soon as we give our name on the phone and the food is hot and ready as soon as I get there to pick it up. We stopped in here today for the first and sadly last time. My husband had the beef burrito and I had the chicken burrito. The chicken in mine was hard and dried out...I ended up throwing most of it away. My husband ended up sick to his stomach as well as diarrhea...all he had to eat for the day was the burrito so I'm 99% sure it is the culprit. Never again! read more

can't beat it for the price in the area. Burritos are amazing, huge, filling, crisp veggies, tasty toppings. Tacos were a little small in comparison, but just look at the shells before ordering them and you will see what I am going on about. Horrible experience. My girlfriend and I ordered two large sweet potato burritos - no cheese, with some sauces - and did not ask for sour cream. When the burritoes arrived, they were full of sour cream- rendering them inedible to my lactose intolerant gf. When we called to ask about it and get another burrito, it came with only sweet potato, rice, AND LOTS OF SOUR CREAM. I just love the burritos here. I'll drive 20 minutes out of my way just to go here. They are big and you can make them the way you like. They aren't cheapskates who charge extra for guacamole either like certain other chains. Personally, I always get either a pulled pork or a chicken burrito with Tropical Tijuana sauce. Working just 2 minutes away from El Caminos you'd think I'd have stopped in sooner , but with all the reviews from the people at work, I finally stopped on my way home just recently. They have a large selection of toppings, sauces and meat choices, burritos, quesadillas, soft tacos and hard tacos. I opted for two hard tacos with beef, lettuce, tomato, sweet corn and their own el Caminos sour cream garlic sauce. Everything was awesome, the only thing stopping this from being a 5-star review instead of a four star review.... the taco shells seemed a little stale and that being because they weren't flash heated at all. It's great that the world is loving soft tacos, but us hard taco lovers like our shells to be crisped up. Besides that they had friendly staff, big choices and good food. 2 tacos was 5 bucks even... and the meat was piled high! kudos here read more

I Have been to this place many times now. they have really cool pictures on the wall. Its a small place with very little sitting room, but the food is good. the service I got has ranged to fast and friendly to a little slow with some grumpy attitude. I get that the shifts may be frustrating and i am able to look past it. just not sure about other people, lol. I like the location of the store its in a very convenient area. Downtown. so its is a great walking distance for any in the area. or a little out of the area. its worth the walk i think. So all in all i would recommend that people try this place out. read more

Great quality food and good value for money. Ingredients are fresh, and meats (e.g., brisket) is prepared and cooked on premises. Late at night it can be VERY slow due to volume of drunk people from nearby bars, and staff are sometimes not the quickest, which adds to the delays. They seem to have a lot of wasted space at the back, and perhaps could re-organize to allow less crowding at the service counter, and a better flow for customers and staff. They need to add delivery - there is no excuse when there are delivery services in town that they could use. When I asked about delivery I was told that they don't have it and, in fact, don't even have a phone number that the public can call. read more

I've been here about 10 times, and every single time somehow this place manages to give me a stale burrito. Unless you want diarrhea I would recommend you stay away from this joint. They keep their inventory in a mouldy basement, unless you're inhibriated and have no where else to eat it's definitely not worth it. On top of all of that the owner/manager is rude and has an attitude problem, and gives terrible food portions in comparison to his generous employees. I don't have a personal vendetta against this place, I just want them to fix the billion problems that this place has. I'm honestly astonished at the fact that an health inspector hasn't shut down this place already. I apologize if any loyal patrons or burrito lovers are offended by this review. I honestly want the best for the hard-working people of Peterborough. Please take my advice and spend your hard earn dollars elsewhere! I posted a review on Google as well for the sake of transparency. The owner replied by dismissing all my claims, without even apologizing to me (A customer). Instead of making excuses and trying to fix customer relations the owner/manager continues to discredit any negative reviews. Ordered out, the food was cold, took 1 1/2 hours to get here, and the delivery guy called one of my friends fat... quote "let her carry the food she needs the exercise".
