If you want the best Mexican food ever ever in the entire city of Lynchburg not to mention the state of Virginia (and this is coming from a Californian and a Mexican) you need to eat at El Camino!!!!! The flavors, the spices, the service, the smiles, the atmosphere is full of sweet peace and the love of God for all who walk in the doors, this is the place hands-down hole in the wall that you must go quick before everybody finds out about it and there's a waiting list!!!!! Ándale! The chips are flaky and the fresh homemade salsa is THE BEST You will eat in all of Lynchburg and you won't pay for it like some pricey places at the mall!!!! Please order the homemade potatoes with Laura's secret sauce!

I've been wanting to try El Camino since I moved to Lynchburg. Having moved to Virginia from Texas. I have high standards for a Mexican restaurant and El Camino delivered! In addition, today's visit was to celebrate a friend's birthday. She recently moved her from south Texas so I was a little nervous... Well, there was no need! The food and service were excellent! We tried a variety from the menu: tacos, burrito, pupusas and gorditas! The chips and salsa was outstanding as well as the house made hot sauces. Maybe my new favorite restaurant

Came here per the recommendation of a friend! The first impression seems authentic Mexican! We were greeted by our smiling server Monica! Since this was our first time, we decided on Torta & burrito! Interestingly they did not serve water, so we decided on food old fashioned bottled water! The food came fresh and warm! The Torta & Burrito was awesome and plentiful! The owners of El Camino are from Chihuahua, so the food is very Northern Mexico style! I highly recommend this place and hope to be back with the family! Thank you for the excellent service!

Try the guacamole! Best I've had. Pork stew excellent. Homemade tortillas and chips are awesome. Beans not my favorite but alright.

Cute little place on the side of the road. If you're not careful you could miss it. The owners/staff are really kind and friendly. Small place but there was a big enough spot for us (party of 6). Fast service, hit food, delicious! Surprised for where the restaurant is (VA) hard to find authentic Mexican food. Everything was fresh and amazing. The price was right too. Definitely recommend

Doesn't took like much from the outside but the service was excellent. Everything we had was good. Cost was average. Atmosphere was clean but could use some sprucing up.

Steak entrees were excellent: cooked as requested. The big…read moredisappointment was that the lamb option was not available as part of the restaurant-week menu, and there was no substitute of equal quality and substance offered. (Many people do not eat pork, the only RW alternative to steak.) The butternut squash soup was like puréed baby food: not like soup. The server was very pleasant. The ambiance is quite plain: a little decorative effort would be worthwhile as the food is quite good. The atmosphere should be more special to be in-line with prices & quality. I would go back!

We weren't sure how big they were but when they arrived we realized they're the size of a small taco. The breading was good but the meat didn't have much flavor without the sauce which was really good. We then ordered the chicken and avocado arepa. It was the size of my palm and filled with what I'd describe as chicken salad mixed with avocado. It was ok but not my favorite. I'm a small eater so for me, I'd need two empanadas as a meal but my husband would definitely need 4 and he's an average eater. At $6 for each little empanada (comes without sides or a drink) and $12 for each arepa (comes without sides or a drink), the price just doesn't seem worth it. The service was good and if the price matched the servings we would try again but not at the current price.

During Hispanic Heritage Month, I wanted to eat in and review a few Hispanic restaurants. One of…read morethe ones I picked was Aji Fusion, a Peruvian food restaurant which reasantly opened its doors in one of the store fronts of the historic Patrick Henry Building in Roanoke, Virginia. Conveniently located in a very central location in front of the Roanoke Social Security office and next to the Rookie's Ice Cream Shop, it has on street parking spaces where you can park to get there When I arrived, I was greeted by a friendly hostetest who also served as my waitress. She spoke good English but was extremely happy when she found out I spoke perfect Spanish, the language we both used to communicate from then on. She took me to my table and handed me the menu. I was already familiar with some of the items on the menu through their nice website with beautiful pictures of their food dishes. To drink, I asked her to give me a special fruit juice from Peru. She brought me a Chicha Morada drink, and it tasted deliciously refreshing. I ordered a house salad to start with and a Bistec a lo Pobre as my main course. She took the order and quickly walked to the kitchen without asking me how I wanted my steak cooked. This is a detail that should never happen in a restaurant when ordering a steak dish. As I waited for my food, I looked around and observed a very clean restaurant with open space and beautiful hardwood floors. The walls were nicely painted in a lightly pink-creamy color with a few framed pictures all around the walls. This gave the restaurant a relaxed yet distinguished decor that gave one a comfortable feeling alone as well as with family and friends. The first item that arrived at my table was the house salad. The waitress also had forgotten to ask me what dressing I wanted, so I asked her if she could change the one she brought me to a balsamic vinegarette. Besides being one I liked, I find that salads photograph very well with this one. The salad had carrots, tomatoes, avocado, onions, and lettuce, of course. I found everything in it very good except the lettuce was the cheapest kind and that is something I would rather not eat. Then as I was still eating my salad, my waitress brings me the main course. This odd timing broke the tempo of being able to enjoy a relaxing dining experience. The Bisteck a lo Pobre, the main course tasted well, even though the steak was well done and I like my steaks more medium rare. But it was juicy and well seasoned, and the entire dish was very flavorful. Overall, I feel that if management acts on my positive feedback given here and trains the waitresses better, this restaurant would be very successful, and therefore recommend it as a relaxed place to eat for family and friends.

After being awarded the Triad Yelper of the Year 2024 Award at the Yelpies Award Ceremony last year, an event that honored the highest-performing Yelp Elites, I decided that this year, as an All-Star Yelp Elite, I not only wanted to be the first to discover new restaurants and bring them to the attention of the public, but also to uncover those found in hidden paths that for one reason or another have not reached the public in its totality. And Inka Grill Peruvian Cuisine in Roanoke, Virginia, is the perfect example. I've been eating at this restaurant since they were in another location and then through Door Dash delivery, as a matter of fact the main photograph on their Yelp website is a close-up of their Lomo Saltado I took from the container delivered through Door Dash. So today I decided to go visit for the first time their Cave Spring location on Brambleton Ave in Roanoke, Virginia. Located inside a small, clean building, but nothing fancy, the success of this restaurant has been the fresh ingredients they use to make their wonderful recipes. My two favorite dishes are the Lomo Saltado and their Bistec a lo Pobre. And the main reason why I like them is the top quality meat they use. It is so tender and tasty and at reasonable prices, that can compete with many of the most expensive restaurants in the area, and come on top. When I arrived at the restaurant there was a group of three Hispanic ladies having dinner there. Later an American older couple with a college age daughter also came in and sat at the table text to mine. They all seemed to have something in common: steady customers very familiar with the menu and their favorite items. My server Lizbeth greeted and welcomed me to the restaurant, took me to my table, and handed me the menu. Not too extensive but each of the few items were much to be desired. To drink I had a glass of Chicha Morada, a very popular non-alcoholic drink from Peru. As an appetizer I had a House Salad. For my main entrée I had a Bistec a lo Pobre cooked medium rare. It is rice and beans together forming a roll, a tender thick steak, fried ripe plantains, a fried egg, and a criolla sauce. Everything was so tasty and delicious. And for dessert I had the Tres Leche. It is said that a picture is work a thousand words. I invite you to view my photographs accompanying this review and see for yourself, the amazing food. I highly recommend this restaurant to all. Once you try their amazingly delicious food, you will want to come back for more.
