Amazing tiny bar! I came here 3 times on separate trips. I love the Lolita cocktail and I wish I could replicate it at home. The menu has some very interesting cocktails that are delicious and if you're not into cocktails, the vermut is a great option as well. The bartenders are very friendly and helpful. The ingredients are top notch-- in fact in 2022 when I came 2 days in a row I could not get the Lolita on the second night, because they ran out of passion fruit juice. Energetic bar with great cocktails. Came here twice, once for private party and once for drinks with some friends, both visits were great. LOVED the cocktails. Rude, rude, rude!! This is the cutest looking little place and we were so excited to find a great spot, with a quiet upstairs with open windows that also had wifi and outlets for charging our laptops. We work from home and it's nice to get out, spend some money and do work at a cafe. When we arrived, the place looked like it had been open for about an hour, a couple other customers in it. We tried to go upstairs, but the man working the counter said it was closed. Though, all the tables were clean and we weren't going to need someone to come up and serve us. So, we found a spot downstairs, next to an outlet. The man working was very brusk with us the whole time, especially once he saw our laptops. Seriously, what is it with cafe's in Barcelona having an issue with people working while they're there?! I'd much rather have people working than screaming children running around everywhere. After about half an hour, the place started to fill up with families & screaming kids. I tried to plug in my laptop and as soon as I did, the man came over and screamed at me to unplug it. I said, it's not hurting anyone, why do I have to unplug it. He screamed, "Because that's how it is!" We would have made this our regular spot (even though the food and coffee isn't great) if the service had been even slightly friendly. So, we're still on a hunt in Barcelona for a good cafe, with wifi and outlets. I think this is going to take a while. read more

My party of two stopped here for after dinner drinks at 10 pm on a Sunday night. We took seats at the bar. The bartender was running late, so the waiter graciously provided us two shots on the house. Right when we were about to leave, 20 American tourists came in and the place became more rowdy. The Red Velvet was slightly on the sweeter side but still delicious. Cocktail was €8 each. There's an upstairs area with more seating as well is several small tables in the back area. Some people ordered empanadas which looked pretty good. In my efforts to find cool places to check out in Barcelona, I wandered a lot. Ok maybe I had some direction (my cousin). He suggested El Born and was totally right about it. The ambiance is relaxing. I felt comfortable hanging out there for a few hours with my book and just zoning out. Everyone knew the people working behind the counter, literally EVERYONE. As they left they gave them all hugs. Sitting at the counter is just as comfortable as sitting further in. The decor is interesting because the windows are stained glass and swirly but awesome. If I wasn't trying to find different places everyday when i was in Barcelona and instead living there, El Born would definitely be in my local spot to go to everyday. read more

I am not even sure why I love this place so much but there is something about the strong Cortado, a melted ham and cheese "bikini" and the laid back atmosphere that just called me back every morning during my stay in Barcelona. I hate going where the tourists go and I prefer to follow the locals to where they would go and this is one of those places. While not entirely off the beaten path, and not without its share of tourists, the limited menu and small tables seemed to keep the larger groups away. I could see spending many a morning drinking espresso and reading the paper here one day when I retire to Barcelona. read more

The restaurant itself is right down the street from Picasso museum and the parc de la ciutadella. There are several seatings inside even thought it's kinda cozy. We had great customer service. Our person explained everything in English which we greatly appreciated. Super friendly staff in general. With respect to their food. Explore their empanadas and their sandwiches (bocadillo). The empanadas are relatively small serving as expected with any tapas but their sandwiches are average size. Recommend mixing and matching between those two options for lunch or really early dinner snack. They serve beer there too so go and enjoy with your tapas. Their prices are very reasonable. A couple of euros per tapas. For my group, we had 7 tapas, beer, 2 cokes, and a tea for only €21. Recommend this place if you are in the area. read more

This place was so cute and cozy! Our Airbnb was next door and we were here every day. Every morning we popped in for an empanada and a latte, and my boyfriend loved the Spritz. Sometimes we were here at night before going home, I would recommend the Spritz! read more

Stayed in this area for a while and this was our go to cafe. In the sun in the morning with your cafe con leche - what could be better? Lovely coffee. Also had their menu del dia one day - a gorgeous bargain and great food - a favourite with the locals. read more
