After examining the pieces of meat and bone in my meal, I became very concerned about exactly what I had been served. I have included photographs of the actual food I received so customers can look at it for themselves and make their own judgment. I cannot independently confirm what type of meat this actually is, but after seeing information circulating about the differences between oxtail and kangaroo tail, the appearance of what I received raised serious questions and concerns for me. I work hard for my money. Oxtails are expensive, and when I spend my hard-earned money at a restaurant and specifically pay for oxtail, I expect to receive exactly what I ordered and paid for. I should not have to get home, examine my meal, and wonder, "What exactly did I just eat?" I also called Caribbean Hut this morning and specifically asked to speak with the manager regarding my concerns. I was told that the manager was not available. I made an effort to contact the restaurant directly and give management an opportunity to address this matter. Customers deserve honesty, quality, and transparency about the food they are purchasing and consuming. When someone pays for a particular type of meat, especially something as expensive as oxtail, they should be confident that they are receiving what they paid for.
