Crav'n Caribbean is located inside the City Kitchen in Charlotte, NC which is a shared kitchen for takeout. I've been here many times and have tried different things. This place is very popular, so it does take a while to get your order as an FYI so order well ahead. My favorite thing to get here is the brown stew chicken with rice and peas. I did try their viral oxtail cheesesteak which was a little too salty for me. I will definitely be back to try the oxtail fried rice. They also have a food truck.
I've been following Crav'n Caribbean for years and finally made it to Charlotte to try! I ordered on the website for pickup which took about 20-25 minutes. The restaurant is located in a shared community kitchen. You have the option to order at the location or online. Once I arrived, it took about 15 minutes for to bring it out and it was piping hot! Got back home and was able to try everything. I had the oxtails, white rice, mac and cheese and collard greens. The amount of food they provide for the price is completely worth it. The oxtails have a bit of a kick to it which I loved, very tender and seasoned well. The mac and cheese was cheesy and the collard greens with turkey was "chefs kiss"! OMG it did not disappoint!! 10/10 - today recommend. Do yourself a favor and try if you are in the Charlotte/Greensboro area.
This was amazing definitely worth it great customer service hot and fresh were from San Jose so for us to get some a home cooked comfort food while away was great
We ordered ahead for mobile pickup and everything was right on time -- hot, fresh, and perfectly packed to grab and go. Timing was chef's kiss. Once we got home and opened our plates, we noticed one little hiccup -- the mac & cheese we ordered didn't make it into the bag. Sad moment... because if it was anything like the rest of the food, I know it would've been amazing. Now for the good stuff: everything we did get was absolutely superb. The flavors were bold, rich, and full of that Caribbean punch that makes you do a little dance with every bite. Not too salty, super well-seasoned, and generous portions -- enough to feed multiple people or guarantee great leftovers (if you have the willpower to save any). Even with the missing side, I'm not even mad -- that's how good the food was. Just gives me an excuse to go back again soon and finally get my hands on that mac & cheese.
One of my favorite spots in Charlotte so I had to review them again. Similar to my last visit, this was another great experience in terms of service. I placed the order upon arriving at the restaurant instead of in advance and then went next-door to Taco Azul for a couple of beers while I waited. My entrées were ready in about 20 minutes. I ordered the oxtail with oxtail fried rice and the jerk chicken with oxtail fried rice. Both were excellent as always! And something that I really appreciated about this spot. When my order came out, the owner asked that I check out each container to make sure it was to my satisfaction. That is usually something that takeout places don't encourage you to do, especially if they are passing on product that is not similar to what is displayed on their menu. Definitely not the case with Crav'n Caribbean. I highly recommend this place for anyone who is craving, (see what I did there?), West Indian food.

Amazing as our food scene is, what we don't have much of here is amazing Carribean food--in my humble, native New Yorker opinion--until now. Crav'n Caribbean checks all the boxes for me on what good Caribbean food should be--fresh, excellently spiced, and expertly prepared. What takes them over the top for me is their creativity. As someone who grew up surrounded by Caribbean cuisine, I can't say that I encountered the likes of jerk lamb chops, oxtail mac & cheese, or jerk salmon egg rolls--yet, I'm glad to know them now, lol! While my favorite combo so far is the oxtail fried rice w/jerk salmon bites--in all of it's perfectly prepared rice & beans loaded with tender, flavorful oxtail meat and accompanied by tasty crisp yet juicy salmon GLORY--I can also say that Crav'n Caribbean has not disappointed me yet. Run, don't walk, to check them out today!
Would've preferred no peppers on the oxtail cheesesteak. I found them to take away from the oxtail flavor. Did enjoy the smoked collard greens better. They were cooked to absolute perfection. Ordered online to a ghost kitchen so there wasn't much interaction, however there was a window available for inquiries. Ambiance is family friendly.
The food was really good!!! Service with a smile. The brown stew chicken was falling off the bone good. The oxtail Philly was so good. The curry chicken egg roll was amazing. I didn't like the wing only because they went crispy but I may have added too much sauces. Nothing the air fryer can't fix. I leave tomorrow to go back to isolation working and I am stopping here again to get some egg rolls. I can't wait!!!

At first I didn't see the oxtails but once I started to eat I found them! They were shredded up and added to the rice!

Basically what we call a ghost kitchen. Me and a friend went on Juneteenth. A lot of the restaurants were closed but wanted to give them a try. My snapper was fried to perfection. I got bbq sauce and honey drizzled on it and man oh man, I need some more. I do appreciate that their yams weren't super sweet but just right and the plantains were sweet and cooked perfectly. I will definitely be coming back to place an order. My friend was amazed at the flavors from her jerk chicken and rice. It's def an order again and try something new. I'll def be back!!

I'm more of a regular, sit down restaurant type of gal so I never made it over here until I finally kept seeing so many reviews abt this place I had to give it a try. I was not disappointed. I got the oxtail sandwich with fries, and my word it was AMAZING! So flavorful, juicy and filling. Meat was extremely tender. They can definitely show some of these other restaurants how to make some good and tender oxtails because these were the best I've ever had. It definitely left me "Crav'n" for more!
Heard great review about this place. It's in a shared kitchen space. It took awhile to get our food but once we did we were not disappointed. They gave large portions and the food was hot and fresh. The oxtail cheesesteak was very flavorful, a little too salty for my liking 3.8/5. The salmon bites were good 5/5. Mac and cheese was tasteful 4.5/5. I'm going to try some of their other items!
The food here is good but you don't need to take my words for it. You could ask the 10 to 15 people waiting inside City Kitch for their order. My wife and I shared the Oxtail Cheesesteak with Jerk Sauce and French Fries. We both thought it was great. The meat was so tender. But be careful, you can get a small bone occasionally. The french fries were also good although I wish it came with more than one ketchup packet. Overall, I'd order it again.

While running errands on a Saturday, I wanted comfort food that would hold me over until dinner. Someone spoke highly of Crav'n Caribbean in a group, so I gave them the sides test. Food was really good. I got the oxtail cheesesteak. It was loadeddddd with oxtail, seasoned really well too. I also got the collard greens which were really good too. My brother got some wings & yams. I tried both of those & they hit the mark too. I deducted one star because of the bones in the cheesesteak. I wasn't upset about the bones because it just confirms the authenticity of the oxtail BUT I wasn't expecting them & bit a couple of them which could have been a bad experience. I came here for the the Oxtail Cheesesteak and did not leave disappointed. I felt like I had to try it with the jerk sauce which was delicious. I'd love to try other ones as well. Oxtail is so tender and delicious. They do a great job with this sandwich. It comes with plenty of fries. I wish it came with more ketchup (or any other sauce) for the fries. We got one packet which was not nearly enough. You order online and then pickup at City Kitch. I'm glad there are a few tables there now so you don't have to take your food to go if you don't want to. read more

I have been waiting to review this place after trying their famous oxtail cheesesteak!! I just wanted to grab another plate to add to the review. If you don't trust this review, just look at their instagram page with thousands of followers, the line waiting outside of city kitch every time they're open, and the reason why you have to order ahead to even grab a plate here. They did not come to play and blew everyone out the water with their cheesesteaks and amazing portions. This place is easily a 10/10 and their prices are very fair for what you get. They are located in The City Kitch, a ghost kitchen, and you have to place your order online. They have items like fried salmon bites, jerk wings grilled or fried, curry chicken, oxtail fried rice, oxtail cheesesteaks, etc. It takes 30 minutes to an hour for your food so definitely order way ahead. When you get there, you go to a link online that is provided to tell them you are there. What I noticed and really appreciated was that they ask you to check your order while they stand and wait for you to so you can ensure everything is right. This was just a really nice gesture and shows they care about their service. They are most famously known for their iconic oxtail cheesesteak which is only $30. I remember seeing it on a viral twitter post and saying I was ready to pay $60 for it so this price was incredible to me. I got the oxtail cheesesteak a few months ago and was in love. It was so packed, flavorful, and tender. The mac and cheese was also amazing, just look at the picture. I had been wanting it for months before and finally getting it exceeded my expectations. I came back today and got the oxtail plate with rice and peas, mac and cheese, and collards with smoked turkey. I also got an order of fried jerk wings. The fried jerk wings are amazing. I really don't ever order wings out but I was tempted to try and ended up loving them. You can choose from different drizzles like jack daniels bbq, jerk sauce, sweet bbq, siracha mayo, etc. Also the homemade ranch was good. The oxtail plate is now easily at the top of my list for oxtail plates. They gave an extremely generous portion of them and they were perfect and fell off the bone. The mac was delicious as ever and the collards had a generous amount of turkey in them. read more

Ordered at 1150 food did not come out until 112 absolutely ridiculous and not worth the wait. Will never eat from here or any of the establishments in this location . There is a lobby area you wait in while your food is being made in the back and some workers open a door and call your name when the food is ready . Today is Wednesday 2025/07/16 my lunch is now over before I have even received my food and I still have to drive back . 100% BS. Don't waste your time folks read more

Order some Oxtails, white rice, and plantains. Oxtails were cooked ok and seasoned ok, emphasis on "ok". Really tastes like corned beef to be honest. Here's the kicker though (brace yourself)... there's no oxtail gravy! I'm so confused! I feel like I ordered from a barbecue spot. A bed of rice with dry (as in sauce) oxtails and plantains. Probably not going to order from here again solely based off the fact that they think gravy less oxtails is acceptable. read more

Good = Amazing! I wouldn't lie to you. I went here on a Saturday afternoon with my boyfriend. We found this place on Instagram and the food looked amazing. We arrived and saw that it was a shared takeout hall where they share a space with a couple other restaurants but very limited seating. The individual that took the orders seemed pleasant and took orders efficiently. The wait was a bit but I feel it worth it for the food. We waited about 30-45min for our food to finish. The food was soooo good. We shared an oxtail Philly cheese steak and a jerk chicken plate that came with rice & beans and macaroni & cheese and everything was so fresh and flavorful. I definitely plan to go back and try the other things on their menu! read more
