I had immediate regrets not getting more than 1 taco. The meat was flavorful and juicy, the tortilla de harina amazingly soft, the salsas packed a great punch of spice and flavor. All around spectacular. I even got an horchata de coco to wash it all down and that made it even better. The shop is small but has some seating indoor and outdoor. Great decor and art on the walls. Service was fast and staff were very nice. I am not in LA much but will go be going back to Sonoratown.

I prefer to eat the food fresh and hot at the restaurant. It's not a large place, but decent sized enough to find seating except for the busiest hours. FYI: I don't really like the way they package ToGo food, especially if it is multiple orders because some times, multiple orders can be on one plate. The food is really good, the staff pleasant and efficient, and the location has a decent ambiance to it. The prices are crazy fair.

I will say, tortillas are good and taste fresh, al pastor from the trompo was crispy, juicy and the sweetness from the pineapple was well balanced. unfortunately the asada was lacking for me. it was dry and the texture was almost like ground beef. we also went at 10ish, not too late, but they didn't have many of the salsas and onions cilantro and someone had to ask them to bring out more. it could have been an off day! and it wasn't a complete miss so ill def see for the next time

I'm picky, but Ave 26 delivers every single time. It's super affordable, open 24/7, and there's always plenty of parking, which is a huge win in LA. Plus, it's honestly one of the best spots in town for people-watching while you eat. Let's talk favorites. My absolute must-order is their al pastor burrito with everything. It comes loaded with tons of smoking hot, perfectly seasoned al pastor meat, melted cheese, and incredible flavor. To top it off, they have a solid lineup of tasty salsas and spicy condiments to customize every bite just how you like it. Whether you're wrapping up a late night out or looking for the perfect spot to celebrate after a Dodgers game, Ave 26 has got you covered. Get out there after the win and grab a burrito -- you'll thank me later.

When they handed them to me, my first thought was, what the heck am I looking at? They serve the tacos open and completely loaded, so you almost can't tell what's underneath everything until you pick one up. These things were packed with meat, onions, cilantro, cheese, crema and all kinds of flavor. The tortillas were probably what stood out the most. They had this crispy cheese around the outside that gave every bite a great crunch and a blue tortilla that's soft. Once you fold everything together, it gets pretty messy, but it was surprisingly really good and very flavorful. For around six bucks a taco, I really can't complain, especially considering how much they put on them. I probably wouldn't go out of my way to drive all the way back to Highland Park just for these, but I'm glad I finally tried Villa's Tacos. Definitely a unique taco experience.

I came here for dinner on a week night and my experience here was pretty good. I had the asada and al pastor tacos with all the toppings and they were both so good and full of meat and heat. The toppings can be spicy for some, so be warned. My favorite of the two was the all pastor which was flavorful and I did like the thinly shaved meat. It was not dry at all and was fresh. I also tried the mulita with al pastor meat and that was also soso good. Cheesy, meaty, and indulgent. The additional topping section had good variety with pickled onions, cucumbers, etc. and everything seemed pretty fresh. Unfortunately, they were pretty much out of the roasted pepper and grilled onions at the time I went. To drink, I had the horchata and that was also very delicious. It was huge, sweet, and creamy. I also loved how it was not grainy at all. A good pairing with the rich foods. They also have a good amount of seating at the stand with a long table and multiple chairs. Parking is tricky since its street parking only.

I love the Cabeza tortilla and 3 is the perfect number of tacos for me as they are pretty generous with the meat and avocado sauce. Been here twice and both times because we were going to a show at the Forum which is just a short drive away. It gets pretty busy around dinner time so expect a long wait as the line moves pretty slowly (everything is made/ cooked fresh!)... but the wait is 100% worth it. Just make sure you order enough the first time so you dont have to wait in line again. There is some parking but it gets pretty crowded too so you might have to street park (and the area around can get a little sketch) so be careful. The second time we came here was almost 1130pm right before their midnight closing. This time, the parking lot was emptier so we managed to park inside. There was still a pretty steady stream of customers even around closing, but at least the line isn't ridiculously long. Can't go wrong with anything you order here!

The tuna & uni tostada was the standout. The tuna had the perfect balance of acidity, and the uni on top added just the right amount of richness. The octopus was so tender with no chewiness, it was cooked perfectly. We also tried the aguachile, which was really good, but the tuna dishes stood out to me so much more. Overall, such a great menu with really high-quality seafood at a reasonable price. There are so many other things I want to try, so I'll definitely be coming back!

My friend also got a burrito and I heated it up the next day to enjoy and it still tasted awesome. My review might be slightly skewed as Mexican food is depressing up in Canada so any semblance of authentic Mexican food gets me going. I will have to return to LA soon...just for the tacos here.

I do like how they grill their meat though and they use the tortillas to scoop up the meat on the grill. Also, make sure you ask them for pineapples since they did not include it until we asked. They do have them sliced up in a container by the meats. I arrived right before they opened and there were 6 customers already waiting outside, the food has always been outstanding and I think the pricing is also great though I firmly believe you get A LOT OF QUALITY for what you pay. That mesquite smoke is insane and you can smell and taste it in their food. Their most simple item I've tried, bean and cheese burrito, is so amazing! I mean, how can something so simple make me say "OH WOW" every single time? Must be the flavor added by the lard they use in their flour tortillas. I also reheated two of these burritos next day, they were still tasty! Their burrito 2.0 is hands down the best burrito I have ever ever had: simple, their asada is amazing, they season their beans and the guacamole is great! Their salsa is super tasty though I always struggle to eat it because it is super spicy (I'm not used to eating a lot of spicy food, so for those of you who do, you may love it!). You can tell that it's house made and I liked the chewy texture of it. However, respectfully the filling felt and tasted like bean goo. I could only really taste the refried bean flavor which was strong. It kind of meshed all the components together into a gooey filling. I got this with asada meat and the meat was kind of chewy and not so flavorful on its own. Props to the tortilla though for not spilling everything out and holding it together well, but still a bit difficult to eat. I would ask for utensils when eating this dish. The green onion garnish was unique. I wish they gave more lime wedges because that helped elevate the dish. For $13 this wasn't too bad, but I'd rather get a better burrito from a street vendor. This is a casual eats type of place with both indoor and outdoor seating and tables. They also serve alcohol and even frozen alcoholic drinks. They have a free parking lot in front, but it can be competitive to get a spot. Overall, my experience here was just okay and I would opt for other spots.
