Beer & margs
Michelle M.

Awesome service (sat at bar). We shared the chicken fajitas. Plenty to share & really flavorful!!! Really enjoyed the salsa bar! Tomatillo was my favorite. The chips & salsa were also good! Had a big beer & pitcher of margaritas. We're just passing through but if we lived here we'd be regulars!! This pic already has 2 full burritos made out of it!

Hands down best Mexican ive had from a Mexican restraint starting throughout the east coast!

Amazing food!! Very friendly and extremely fast service! We ordered the Birria burritos and they were great! Large portion sizes too! If you travelling North on the I-77, I -79 it's worth the stop!

Salsa and chips to start

A Hidden Gem in Summersville! If you're searching for an unforgettable dining experience in Summersville, look no further than El Bandido Restaurant. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with warm smiles and the irresistible aroma of authentic Mexican cuisine. The vibrant décor and welcoming atmosphere immediately set the stage for a fantastic meal. Every dish we tried was bursting with flavor! The menu offers a wonderful variety--whether you're a fan of sizzling fajitas, cheesy enchiladas, or fresh guacamole, you'll find something to satisfy your cravings. The ingredients tasted fresh, and the portions were more than generous. Don't miss their homemade salsa and chips they're the best in. The staff at El Bandido truly go above and beyond. Our server was attentive, friendly, and happy to offer recommendations. You can tell customer satisfaction is a top priority here, which makes the whole experience even more enjoyable. Prices are very reasonable considering the high quality and portion sizes. The festive, family-friendly environment makes it perfect for all occasions from casual lunches to special celebrations. We left El Bandido already planning our next visit. If you're in Summersville or just passing through, make sure to treat yourself to a meal here.

Visited this place twice. Was pleasantly surprised at how good the food was. Ordered margaritas both times. First time Tony made them they were delicious. Next day, I don't think he made them. One tasted like a virgin instead of a skinny margarita. Will definitely come back next time.

Aztec cheese dip

Amazing quality, started with the Aztec cheese dip. Excellent combination of taco meat, cheese, avocados & peppers. Burritos were well made and sopaipillas were the perfect ending to a great meal. The manager was personally checking on the customers and their satisfaction. Impressive

While on vacation in West Virginia visiting a few state parks and the National Park literally…read moreacross the road, we were looking for a spot to relax and grab food and a drink, but also had our dog with us so needed somewhere with outdoor seating. We found The Burrito Bar in yelp and gave it a shot and think we found a bit of a hidden gem! Located just seconds from the main highway and the main visitor center for the National Park, once you get back into the area where the restaurant is, you would never know it. It is down a little gravel road and nestled in the trees with a bit of a view of the mountains. They had a very large outdoor area, and I think a small indoor area, but I did not actually go inside. Outside there was a bar, lots of tables and chairs and a very large stage for live music! There was a nice mix of sight see-ers, rafting guides, rafting tourists, and was nice to hangout with all and hear some good music. A lot of the guides loved sharing some of their things to see around the area which helped us put some other things on the list of things to do! Food and drink wise was just as good as the experience. They had a very large beer menu, as well as a full service bar with good bartenders. Food wise they had a lot of vegetarian options noted on the menu if you are looking for that but everything tasted very good. I had a pork burrito which was great and also had a bite of a steak quesadilla that was excellent! Nothing super crazy, but all of the food seemed to be real solid. I don't think you could go wrong with your pick! I don't know if we will be back since we were on vacation, but would encourage anyone in the area to give The Burrito Bar a try and have a nice relaxing meal in a cool spot!

My fiancé wanted to order his favorite Jose special. He politely told them that he has a shellfish allergy, so his food should probably not be cooked on the same area of the griddle as the shrimp. The manager proceeded to come out and say, "we cannot do that. I do not recommend you eating anything cooked on the griddle." My fiancé and I were shocked because he had never been denied that before. He was forced to get something that could be cooked in the Wood Brick oven. I then proceeded to ask the manager because I was baffled, "Do you not clean the griddle or are you unable to?" She proceeded to state, "No, they do not understand the concept of allergies." (pointing to her Hispanic workers). I was revolted by her comment, the service, and just how unprofessional she was. I have not eaten there since, nor will you ever catch me eating there unless management changes.

This is my favorite Mexican place of all time, and I've been to MANY Mexican restaurants, from…read moreRipley, Spencer, Summersville, Montgomery, Charleston, Oak Hill, and down to Beckley and even into Virginia. I went to college right across the street from this restaurant a few years ago, and we'd eat here once a week, and before that I'd been eating there with my family for years. This is the only place I've come across who gives you not only great food, but most importantly, enough cheese sauce to make it worth the price, and my favorite part, their salsa. It's a salsa unlike any other. They must clearly make it themselves. It's not like watery liquid with chunks of tomatoes, onions, peppers, etc... no. This is much more. It's like a purée, made from the essence of dreams and good fortune, yet you can clearly taste every ingredient that went into making it. Not spicy, not sweet, not tangy, but perhaps a small mixture of them all? It's the only salsa I could, dare I say it, drink, quite literally. It's simply fabulous. Now, last year they went through a bit of a change, I'm assuming a switch in management and/or ownership, because things started to change a bit. They got new menus, new cooks that made things a little strangely, and the worst part was the new booths. They're so tall that you have to lean down and over your food to eat it. It's terribly awkward. They have one of the old booths left, and us locals know right where it is and always go straight for it. So anyway, the food is still good, not what it used to be but still better than anything else I've tried. The salsa has also changed a little too, it's a little spicier, and has so much cilantro in it I could choke. I definitely miss the good ol' days, but it's still an awesome restaurant, one that we make trips to Montgomery just for. I wish they'd expand to Beckley, and bring back the old salsa.
