Always cool to be the first to review a joint - and this was certainly a nice find...close to my hotel and not far from a lot of business partners.
Looks like they just opened about a month ago...and although they still seem to be working out a few bugs (things), the overall experience and food was decent. It's an inviting atmosphere with a trendy, contemporary design. They've definitely invested a lot of time, energy and $$$, attempting to separate El 124 into its own genre.
The food overall was decent but unfortunately not exquisite...the menu was well thought out but perhaps we just didn't try their highlighted specialties. The sauce/dressing on our steak sandwiches was a bit odd...a little sweet and vinegary...but maybe they were shoot'en for that. My colleague's steak was "a little veiny" - his words. Our salads were decent however I'm not a fan of a Caesar salad being laid out and drizzled with dressing - id prefer the old fashion method of chopping and lightly tossing the salad etc...but that's just me.
Al in all it's a very nice place. I do have one small tip however...if your an ex-pat, pass on the ice...I paid for it later that evening. :(. Haven't trained my immune just yet but it'll get there ;). read more
