Love this place, not only because it's s a nice blend of great Mexican cuisine and the magnificent architecture of the place. Weekend nights have live music, that nicely enhances the atmosphere while you wind down with your significant other or friends. We had great appetizers that you can only find in a few places (tuétano and escamoles). If you are not local you must be adventurous to try this Mexican delicatessen. The other options Chamorro adobado, rib eye, octopus were average compared to other places. Dessert was outstanding. Now, a word of caution... if you come here in a cold night, make sure to bring a jacket or sweater, this place is open and it gets cold , but with a few tequilas you forget about it read more

Ambience was elegant. Service was very good. But I found the food to be lacking. I had an artichoke which was OK, but not great. I said that I allergies (gluten) but the waiter didn't know that breadcrumbs were gluten... one bite and that was it. They quickly brought me some enchiladas stuffed with salmon. Again, they weren't anything to write home about. The margarita, however, was first class. Prices were high and value was not that great. read more

I have been here twice now. Very friendly staff and stunning atmosphere. I would love to give this place 3 1/2 stars, if it would allow me to. The atmosphere and staff would be a 4 and the food a 3. Everything I have had here has been good, but not great. Beef has been overcooked, food has come to the table cold, but the flavors are spot on. The overall quality, chic yet colonial antique setting, wine selection, regional comidas, and prices make this place one of my favorite fine dining spots in SLP. The onions soaked in wine reduction are to die for but hang in there don't die just yet. The entree chiles en nogada is not so common and rarely this good. The food here was good, they have a great selection of items including tacos, different cuts, salads, pastas, seafood and soups. They have a full bar and they offer soft drinks and coffee as well. The ambience is calm and classy in an old traditional Mexican style of architecture. There is a fountain that creates a relaxing environment to enjoy your food. The place is good for groups because they have tables that accommodate larger parties. I don't recommend it for people who have children that are very active though. I ordered escamoles (ant eggs) and they were amazing. The palmito soup is made from the heart of a palm, it's creamy and very tasty. The tuna with chili is also good although I would of preferred it to be salty rather than sweet. For dessert I had the Principe cake and it was perfect, not too sweet and with a great texture. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 star is because they take a long time in between plates and because I reserve the 5 stars for amazing food. I would recommend this place to couples for an intimate dinner, groups of people, business meals, and calm birthday celebrations. The bakery is superb, the Mexican dishes full of flavor. But the best one is the "enchiladas potosinas" (the local signature dish). Highly recommended if you are in San Luis Potosí. read more

For starters, the tuna tostadas were deliciously seasoned, the crab empanadas delectable. I chose the shrimp Chipotle which was overcooked for my taste. I also like my food served hot and my dish was warm at best however we were a large group. My coworker got the steak Potosi which was tender and delicious. We shared the Strawberry salad which was large and fresh. The dressing was just right. I would loved to have stayed as the live musicians arrived as we were leaving at 9, but we did not. I gave 3 stars because the food wasn't what I expected, the pasta that I ordered was overcooked and the shrimps weren't fresh (dehydrated shrimps). My husband took Chiles en nogada which its a typical Mexican plate, they were just fine but far away from the traditional recipe. I'm going to start saying that I chose this restaurant because of the good reviews not just here but in google. We invited our family to have a good time with us ( 18 people total, including a 5 and a 7 yr old) the food and the service was very good, we really had a very good time. However, it wasn't good at all, 16 people got sick, and 2 went to the hospital, including my 5 yr old daughter. The rest of us went to the dr and got antibiotics. Of course, we told the hospital about this restaurant. We all had different food, but we all got water!!!! I'm sorry but definitely not coming back ever again to this restaurant!!! Just came back for my 3rd visit, and this time I had the best Mexican breakfast ever. I ordered Chilaquiles a la Poblana, and they came in a heavenly poblano cream sauce. Freshly crisped with perfect eggs sunny side up. You must try the Potosino juice with cactus, celery, orange and pineapple juice. As always, the presentation and service was lovely. All my family was impressed with food, service, and the beautiful hacienda-like setting. Many business breakfast meetings were going on, and the restaurant is expanding to the side with additional dining rooms in the same decor. I absolutely recommend all visitors to SLP to dine here at least once. Dinners are wonderful and you must have some wine. The romantic setting takes you back in time, and you simply want to linger and dream. You too will fall in love with this delicious place! read more
