My fiancée and I were looking to get our engagement pictures taken. We were referred to Euan and we…read moreare SO glad we were. Euan is a rare breed of photographer - not only is he talented as a photographer and editor (trust me, we needed the editing ;) but he is also personable. We're not actors by any stretch of the imagination, but you need to be able to pose if you want some good pictures taken. Long story short - he made the entire evening remarkably easy for us. Something our friends had warned us about was the amount of time certain photographers take to turn our pictures around. We had our pictures turned around to us in hours. Also, Euan spent no less than 6 hours with us (YES, 6 HOURS!). He drove around with us all over the city, from SOMA to Pacific Heights to the Marina and we got the best pictures taken. The best part - his prices are really affordable. All in all, I couldn't be more happy with the work that Euan did. He is a hidden gem of a photographer and I strongly recommend working with him. We'll forever remember the memories Euan has helped create.

This wasn't the case with Stephen! He made us feel at ease and was very professional. He gave us plenty of tips and was more than open to our suggestions. We visited several different locations around Berkeley for our photos, which I really appreciated. We had a wide variety of backgrounds to choose from and they all looked great. I also liked that there was a good balance of portraits versus candid shots. I've seen collections by other photographers where the couple never looked directly at the camera or were always facing forward. It's good to have a mix. The quality of the photos were also great - we had many shots that didn't need any editing. Stephen also got our photos in online albums right away so we could check them out. Overall, it was a very easy process and enjoyable experience, all thanks to Stephen. Probably the least stressful part of planning a wedding. I highly recommend Stephen!! Check out his website, too. go stephen! stephen did our engagement and wedding photos - a huge responsibility - and he did an…read moreawesome job. he spent time getting to know our personalities and we spent the afternoon visiting various spots in san francisco - city hall, palace of fine arts, the ferry building - shooting tons of photos. he had a lot of clever ideas and was open to our cheesy ideas and my love for photos of us jumping. during our wedding day he caught all of the prime moments while capturing the small stuff we missed and all of our friends and family (including my virtually impossible-to-please traditional asian family) complimented about how easy-going, professional, and friendly he was. afterward he promptly posted the photos for us and everyone was impressed by how they come out... my yelp picture is one of them! :) a plus my husband loves is all the fancy lenses and cameras stephen uses - yay!

Andy called to discuss to make sure all details were covered. He not only arrived on time, but was the FIRST one to arrive at the ceremony! His pictures were amazing. We had taken the pictures in the synagogue before and none came out as sharp and clear as Andy's. He even driven down to the party (in another location) to take a few extra shots after the ceremony for us. I have lived in the city long enough and know the cost of living here. I hired Acorn Films after much prodding from my mom. When I was planning my wedding, I was…read moreconvinced I didn't want a videographer. I mean, who actually likes to see themselves on film? It feels so awkward! But, due to my mom's persistent nagging, I caved and started looking at videographers. That's how I found Acorn Films! As a newer business, they were very reasonably priced and were a total pleasure to work with. At the time that I signed the contract with Acorn Films, they had zero Yelp reviews (and zero reviews anywhere I could find!). So, I kind of went out on a bit of a limb. As the months passed between signing the contract and my wedding, I saw more and more of Shawn & Natalie's work through their Vimeo channel and blog. And I was really pleased with what I saw! You can tell that their editing work is just getting better and better. Fast forward to May, and my wedding day. Shawn & Natalie showed up right on time (if not a little early), set up, worked with the photographers and the DJs, and filmed away. When our photographer wanted to drive out closer to the ocean for a bit of a photoshoot, Natalie even helped drive me and my bridal party over. I barely noticed their presence at the wedding. Now onto the final product: the videos. You know, I hate to say it, but my mom was right all along. Videos are just so much different than photographs. Watching the short film made me feel like I was back at my wedding again. It's just different -- and I'm glad I went with a videographer. I loved my short film, it really captured the emotions of the day. The longer main film is something that I probably won't watch on a regular basis, but man... the short film. Totally worth it! Shawn & Natalie really captured some great angles of the first dance, the ceremony, everything. In many ways, photographs capture the best moments of your wedding.
