Starting the process of new construction on a residential project and the building permitting can be pretty overwhelming. David Nylund Senior Engineer, went above and beyond. I particularly appreciated that he provided information and asked me to send pictures of my project upfront even before I had hired him. Then Covid came and my Design person suddenly became unavailable and I had to make a major alteration in my project. All along the way, David promptly responded to my emails, helped provide solutions to my issues and resources that got me to one Finish line, Final Permit Approval. We highly recommend Ek Engineering. The whole septic design process was new to us. Chane Ek did a fabulous job. He kept us up-to-date throughout the entire process, addressed all our questions and concerns, explained all our options and created a low maintenance, bullet proof system that will probably last longer than we will. It's never any fun dealing with the County when you're trying to develop a business and I was in a real predicament for time when I called Chane Ek and within minutes of our call he was on it!! He called the county rep and spoke to him that very hour and within 3 hours he was at my property assessing the septic issue I had for my permit. We have a really Bad Experience with Ek Engineering. We've Paid 2,000 dollars to date for our shop to be engineered with them, We've been through 3 changes and paid for each one, At the final steps of the permitting process we needed to have 3 minor changes made in the engineering plans to match the architect plans. remove a Bathroom, remove a Closest, and Change a Fire wall rating diagram. All very simple, but Ek Refuses to make them and told us to find another engineer. So instead of getting our Permit in a week or two,(we've been in the permit process for 5 months getting changes from the county) we are now set back 3 months, forced to throw away 2,000 dollars and pay another engineer to do exactly what Ek Engineering did without the extra bathroom. Three Engineer's that I've spoke with are all 2 months backed out to take on new clients but all agreed this was such a simple thing and ridiculous that Ek is not completing the job they started and have 99% complete. I would be cautious using this Engineering service! read more
