Excellent experience with Eric and Johnny. Had shutters installed throughout downstairs of my house. Everything was handled professionally. Shutters arrived and were installed within the promised timeframe and look fabulous. I highly recommend this company and will use them again. read more

We recently relocated to Orange County. One of our first tasks was to have shutters installed in our new place. My wife researched companies online and chose EJ's Home Improvements. Our shutters were installed yesterday. WOW! She definitely made the right decision! From the beginning when Eric came out to do the measurements and fave us a quote until, the installers finished the experience was 100% positive. To summarize: Courteous. Clean (they wore booties to protect our wood floors). Fair pricing. Beautiful finished products. We could not be happier! Hopefully, we are as fortunate finding a doctor, dentist, insurance agent, etc. read more

Chris and his crew did a great job. We refaced out kitchen cabinets, replaced our sink, and extended our center island. It looks like a whole new kitchen! I was so grateful that he did it quickly and with quality workmanship. I have already recommended him to several friends and neighbors. He's just so good that you may have to wait a while. It's worth it though. read more

Excellent Service and top quality shutters. I found this business through yelp last year. yea it took me a while to write a review sorry guys. Eric the owner is very proffesional and friendly when he came by to do an estimate. the shutters took about 2 months to get but that is normal and worth the wait. The installers were quick, friendly and very knowledable. I am so glad my wife and i went with this company for our townhome shutters. I highly reccoemend! Thank you Eric and Staff. read more

We are very pleased with our plantation shutters and motorized blinds. Got in touch with Eric in February to get a quote and some options and he was straight to the point and helpful. He ordered everything for us and gave us the heads up that due to covid, manufacturing was 3 months behind. We didn't mind waiting especially as he came highly recommended. We will absolutely use his company again down the road. The guy who installed our shutters (John) was extremely fast and friendly. Thanks guys for being a great contractor! Not easy to find in OC! read more

Can't say enough good things about EJ's Home Improvements. We hired them to install custom roller shades for our new home. Eric came out and explained the process very thoroughly and gave us a very reasonable price. After getting quotes from 5 other companies we chose Eric because of the quality and design of his shades, his great pricing and his professionalism. The shades came in exactly when Eric told they would and the installation was a breeze. Shout out to Johnny, our shade installer who was an absolute delight. I can't stress enough how professional this company is. Johnny showed up on time and was extremely clean, making sure the install was performed with no issues. It's clear Johnny takes pride in his perfect shade installs. Where I was really blown away was that we noticed a small issue a few days after the install and reported it back to Eric who handled it immediately. He was communicating with us regularly regarding the issue and immediately took action to get the issue resolved. After remodeling our entire home and dealing with a multitude of different trades and services, I can EASILY say that EJ's Home Improvements was the most honest, professional and customer service friendly company who we had the pleasure of dealing with. read more

I am completely satisfied with the service and products provided by EJ's Home Improvements. We contracted with Eric for the fabrication and installation of plantation shutters, a retractable screen door for french doors, and verti-glide style shades after receiving bids from other local suppliers and installers. Eric the low bidder for the job by over three thousand dollars. He was extremely knowledgeable about the products and provided us with terrific information and options that hadn't been presented by his competitors. The shades, screen door and shutters were all delivered and installed ahead of schedule by a very professional, polite individual who showed up on time for the install. I would highly recommend EJ's Home Improvements if you need window treatments. Also note that they do commercial work, so if you're in need for your business, give Eric a call and he will treat you right. read more

Eric and Moises were great to work with on our new retractable screen door. Eric was so patient in answering all my questions, and Moisés' installation was fast, accurate, clean, and beautiful. Outstanding, wish I could give them six stars, but five is the Yelp max! read more

I love my shutters and shades! I really appreciate Eric's high level of professionalism and expertise. He was so patient and responsive to my many questions. I compared quotes from several companies and decided to go with EJ's because 1) Eric has vast experience with shutters and shades, 2) he came highly recommended by my realtor, 3) he was so patient in his explanations, 4) he is great with follow-up which tells me he would follow through and I don't have to worry, 5) competitive pricing. And I was right!! From the beginning to the end, Eric made sure everything went smoothly. Also, Johnny, who was the installer, did a great job with installation. He was professional, efficient, friendly and joyful. I highly recommend Eric and his team! read more

It's been about a year since Eric's team installed my blinds and I still love them, particularly the motorized ones in my kitchen and laundry room which we open and close daily. Love pushing a little button and all of them open so effortlessly!!!If you are considering motorized versus manual, it is well worth it to invest in motorized if you use the blinds often. Well it was finally time for the batteries to die and I had completely forgotten what our awesome technician had told me when they were installed. I didn't have anyone's phone number to call so I looked up EJ's Home Improvement on Yelp and sent an email about my situation. Eric called me the very next morning and walked me through what to do. I actually had a charger in a box labeled "charger for kitchen shades"! My blinds are working perfectly again! I love and miss this good old school customer service. We need to support small business like this. I HIGHLY recommend EJ's Home Improvement! read more

EJ's Home Improvements - Bathroom manual controlled shades - Shades & Blinds Near Me - Irvine, California

EJ's Home Improvements installed new window coverings throughout our townhouse - mostly vinyl shutters, but also a roller shade and vertical blinds for the rather unusual giant window and door setup at the front. They did an amazing job! EJ's had great communication, the timeline was spot on, the installation was flawless, and the pricing was incredible. We are so happy to have found this company and we love our shutters. read more

Eric Black seemed like a honest man. He is very straight forward with no hidden agenda. I did 2 sliding bypass shutter doors and and 7 windows. They look fantastic. Communication was great. The price was in the medium range. It took about 5 months to order. That's the downfall since it was imported. His workers are extremely professional and friendly. I highland recommend going with EJ's Home Improvements. read more

All we wanted were some plantation shutters for our new home. It proved to be quite a long reno process, but the guys at EJ's were so very accommodating and patient. I requested a quote and Eric came by to do our measurements. He suggested having the shutters done last so that they wouldn't get dirty during construction. What's nice is that they can put in temporary window covers for you until your order comes in. We opted to order our shutters sooner rather than later. Little did we know we wouldn't complete our project for months and months. They had to hold on to our order for so long! The install took no time at all and was painless. You do have to book it a few weeks in advance. Highly recommend! read more

We purchased our shutters from Eric. he was very friendly and personable. He was extremely patient and helpful while we were making our selections. Providing input as to what would best would work for us. When our shutters arrived and ready for installation Johnny was our installer, was extremely fast and efficient. He was very friendly as well. After the install we are very happy with the outcome. They are beautiful! We ordered more before they left our home. We are definitely happy and satisfied with the product and service. We highly recommend this company. they are awesome! (Great Prices too!) read more

This review is long overdue; EJ's installed shutters throughout 90% of my home several years ago and the shutters look brand new and are absolutely flawless all these years later. I highly recommend this business..they are honest, fair and have a quality product at a competitive price. read more

If I could give more stars to Eric and his team, I would. I found Eric here on Yelp! right after we closed on our new home in Irvine. We moved from Texas and I wanted to get going on a quote for shutters as soon as possible so that we would be ready to order as soon as we made the move. Eric and his team have THE BEST customer service. He went above and beyond and measured the model home to get me an initial estimate. He even FaceTimed with us while we were still in Texas to talk us through all of the different options and choices for the shutters. Then, he met us at the house to finalize the order once we arrived in Irvine. The shutters arrived a couple weeks earlier than he had quoted us and his install team was on time and super fast. The shutters are very high quality and we couldn't be happier with the result. Eric communicated with us constantly throughout the process, even accommodating a delay in our backsplash installation (with a separate company) by offering to come back and install our kitchen windows for no extra charge. If you are looking for high quality shutters with great customer service, definitely contact Eric! read more

I recently had my windows replaced and wanted shutters instead of blinds. I did my research, got three quotes, checked references and decided on EJ Home Improvements. I am very happy with that decision. Eric was professional and personable. In every interaction with him, he was on time, efficient and sincere. I was not in a rush so I elected to wait the almost 2 months for manufacturing overseas. That put my installation right in the COVID stay at home orders. We all agreed that with the right precautions the installation could go as planned. Johnny and his assistant were awesome. They were done with the entire project in just about two hours and everything was done perfectly. The overall experience was wonderful and I hIghly recommend EJ Home Improvements. read more

Eric is awesome. He provides a level of service that is very hard to come by these days. He was always punctual, very thorough and provided unprecedented customer service on what I consider a smaller job (blinds on a handful of windows). He never made me feel as if my job want important because it wasn't an entire house or thousands of dollars. In fact, I couldn't decide on treatment for 2 windowsand I was surprised, as policy, there is no minimum order so if in the future I decide to do them, I will be charged the same as if I'm doing a houseful or 1 window. I'm very happy with the final product and would recommend him to anyone that asks. read more

Very happy with our shutters and blinds. Eric was very knowledgeable and patient answering my questions. Price was eminently reasonable as well. Wouldn't hesitate to use them again. read more

I have done business with EJs two times now and both times I could not have been happier. We had a new addition to the family and wanted shutters for little one and also a retractable screen door. After a few calls and research , I decided to go with EJ's. Eric was responsive and knowledgeable. He broke down some of the pros and cons on what I wanted to do. He measured everything and gave us a timeframe when the products will be available for installation. The screen and shutters where perfect and installed on time and professional. Fast forward 3 years later, we just had a kitchen remodel and noticed how dingy our blinds were looking in the kitchen and family area in comparison to our new bright white cabinets. We decided to get those replace and had Eric come out again . He was prompt with his communication and noticed that I respond better via text. He came out, measured everything included a creating a customer blind that fitted around our backsplash, paperwork all done remotely, notified us when products were available for installation, he was on time and everything looks great. His prices are competitive and on time. Being in B2B sales, great customer service and compliments are the strongest way to get repeat business. I will be using EJs again when need to update the bedrooms. read more

If your looking for new plantation shutters look no further, EJ's is the place for you. Summary: We are happy with the new 2 1/2 inch vinyl horizontal blinds that EJs Home improvements put in to replace our home's original mini aluminum blinds. Details: EJs was one of three places that we contacted for quotes as well as looking at samples. We chose EJs over the others because Eric was very upfront regarding options and costs and he was NOT pushy. The pricing was very reasonable in comparison to the other estimates we received. Due to COVID-19, there was an 8 week wait between signing the contract and the installation. Eric kept in touch with us during this time. The day of the installation the work was done quickly, all six blinds installed (and the old ones removed) in under 90 minutes. The workers showed up on time and were already wearing masks. After the installation we noted a few minor things that needed adjusting (pulls too short to reach easily, tilt adjustments, visible gap between valence and top of blinds when blinds are lifted). We contacted Eric, he came out and we discussed what could be done with us. He arranged to have someone come out and make the adjustments. This also had some wait time (again, due to their backlog of work) but when Johnny came he addressed all of our issues. read more

Ordered 10 shutters, they had the best price I was able to find around for the same quality. Delivery time is standard 6-9 weeks since shutters are manufactured in China. Very satisfied with overall result and would highly recommend to others. read more

Okay, you know you're in your 30's when you're this excited about window shutters but, I AM SO EXCITED. In all honesty, we did shop around a bit, we had other companies come out and quote our house, and they were either all pushy, late, or didn't really seem to be all that knowledgeable on windows/doors. Fast forward to Eric, who was punctual, professional, and never pushy. Plus his quote was super reasonable. All in all, it took about 2 months for our shutters to come in, Johnny came to do the install, he was super efficient and friendly and our window shutters look so beautiful. It's completely changed the entire look of our house and I couldn't be happier. Highly recommend! read more

We had roller shades and plantation shutters installed and our experience was absolutely wonderful! From the initial in-home visit for consultation and price, to the communication during lead time and install, to the professionalism and efficiency of the installation team, to the finished product - Everything was superior quality and customer service! Not only that, but we had four other quotes from other local companies (both large and small) for the same exact items and EJs came in lowest price by far, yet they had the best quality of the products and customer service. Eric took the time to really explain my best options for my home. They truly offer the competitive prices to generate a lasting business relationship, and their performance has certainly gained our long-term business. We will certainly be calling them for our next home projects! read more

After much researching, we decided on EJ's for interior shutters for our home. From the start, he was prompt, professional, and very knowledgeable. Eric had the best rates and was very honest about the current shipping delays. Once the shutters were received in their warehouse, scheduling installation was quick. The installation was efficient and close to flawless. Johnny and his team were not only fast, but very meticulous. One of the best experiences I've had with a home contractor. Highly recommend. read more

We couldn't be happier with the whole experience. We just got new honeycomb shades installed as well as 2 sliding screen doors. Working with EJ's Home Improvements was an extremely positive experience. Eric was prompt at coming to our home to give us a quote on shutters. He was very knowledgeable and his prices were half that of his competitors. Throughout the process, Eric was in constant contact and delivered the shutters ahead of schedule. The installers arrived on time and installed shutters for seven windows in under an hour. We were amazed. The shutters are beautiful and have transformed the look of our house. Eric was so pleasant to work with- came to quote quickly, provided two options, and educated me on shutters and differences in quality. They provided us with a temporary solution while our custom shutters were getting manufacture. Once ready, installation was super fast, easy, done in a highly professional manner. The shutters are high quality, beautiful, and made our home look so put together! Contact Eric- you won't regret it! read more

We got a few quotes for shutters and blinds and decided to go with Eric because of his laid-back attitude (not pushy and quite friendly) and willing to work with us with scheduling. Plus his quote came in very reasonable. It took about 2 months to order all of the shutters and Johnny came out to do the installation. He was short his helper so he had to do the install by himself but did a great job. There were some difficult to close/move or lop-sided ones but Johnny was quick to fix and remedy the situation. He also explained that sometimes windows/doors can be lop-sided and uneven (and they are definitely not identical even if they are right next to each other). But he was able even these out for us on the spot. We had 1 incorrect measurement and 1 faulty blind but these were all corrected and we're very pleased with our window treatments. Highly recommended. read more

EJ home improvements is excellent. Eric came in and knew exactly what to do. Finished measuring all windows and French doors in 45 min. We have a lot of them. Gave us simple pricing and gave options - LA made or Taiwan made. We opted for Taiwan and we are very happy. His installing crew is also excellent. EJ was very good pricing wise as well. This is his family business doing it for generations. The process, quality, follow up and installation efforts all prove it ! Highly recommended read more

I have gotten shutters and sliding screen doors installed on two different properties of mine, a condo and a large house, and this company has been awesome both times. The owner is easy to work and plan with, easy to get a hold of, and the product looks and works great. There has been a minor issue on both jobs, but it was addressed and remedied quickly and professionally both times. I got quotes from eight different companies for the first job. I am so glad we decided to move forward with EJ's. I definitely recommend them! read more

Ej's Home Improvements has done several projects in our home. Starting with the master bedroom, We took out all of the furnishings and Chris custom built our furniture. He helped me design a dresser that is larger than typical and created a built in headboard along with nightstands. Eric had custom shutters made for our windows to complete the look. The workmanship is excellent! The crews were always on time and cleaned up each day before leaving. They also rebuilt our laundry room and customized it to fit a stackable washer and dryer. Again excellent service and workmanship. Chris also custom built our living room mantle and Eric provided beautiful 2" wood blinds to match. Last year we had our kitchen remodeled. That was a huge ordeal however EJ's made it as painless as possible. Anyone going without a kitchen for 6-8 weeks understands. Chris sent me to great places to select granite, tile & flooring. He brought awesome finishes for the cabinetry and listened to my design ideas while adding ones that I didn't think of. Eric provided 2" wood blinds and when one came warped he did not hesitate to have it replaced. Eric has also provided us with retractable screen doors and has always been helpful with rescreening if a cat or kids has run through it. :) Today we just finished up on the master bath shower/tub area. This was not a full remodel but Chris was wiling to work around what we have and make a beautiful finished bath suite. I highly recommend EJ's Home Improvements for all home remodeling and window needs. read more
