A Starbucks quality coffee house.
There are Yelpers out there who hate the coffee chains and particularly hate Starbucks.
I do not agree with them.
There are bad wannabe Starbucks chains out there.
France is full of them.
But generally I find the chain coffee places serve reliable good coffee, have good things to eat and a nice room to eat them in.
Corporate management can be excellent in maintaining standards.

However,
Chain versus independent coffee house is not the headline story here.
The headline story is that Einstein's is right in front of the Konzerthaus.
It has a spectacular view both of the Konzerthaus itself and the two magnificent churches that flank the Konzerthaus.
The Konzerthaus is one of the great concert halls of the world.
Standing out on the street, you can not enjoy either the amazing acoustics or the world class ensembles that play there.
But the listening inside the Konzerthaus is amazing.
Furthermore,, the Konzerthaus and the two matching churches are some of the most spectacular looking nineteenth century buildings in Berlin.
Them not having been bombed to smithereens during World War Two certainly doesn't hurt.
But they would still be awesome buildings even if
Germany had never fought in any World Wars,
Never lost a building and
All the German nineteenth century architecture survived without a scratch.
The Konzerthaus complex must be seen.

That leads to danger on the restaurant front.
Cafes in front of spectacular tourist attractions tend to be rip-offs.
Knowing that you would pay a fortune to sit by the window or
Pay a fortune to sit in an outside chair
Induces entrepreneurs to charge maximum price and
To cut maximum corners on food quality.

The "Don't Sit in Cafes In Front of Tourist Draws" Rule does NOT apply to Einstein.
This is a bona fide non-rip-off place.
Chain restaurants sometimes make sure that all of their outlets are being a credit to the reputation of the chain.
However, the "Chains Will Save You" rule does not universally apply.
I have been to Starbucks at tourist locations that bled me dry.
Einstein's in front of the Konzerthaus does not take unfair advantage of its location.
They do not let quality slip.
You pay an honest price and you get an honest product.
I attribute this to the professionalism and standards of the Einstein chain.
I take off my hat to them. read more
