My boyfriend said we could stop by here for breakfast and I am so happy to be back, especially…read moresince our last visit was excellent. We came in at a good time as there were two tables with two chairs available so we were immediately seated and given waters and menus. The staff here are great about checking in often and being pleasant. The bathroom here is clean and they even have a changing station inside. The restaurant is clean and the staff come to refill or grab dirty plates quite often. My boyfriend got the lavender latte and two eggs and sausages while I got the smoked honey ham eggs benedict and a rose lemonade. I forgot that the specialty lemonades are not free refill but they do give you a lot. The lavender latte was soothing and the rose lemonade was light. The food came not too long after and the portions here are huge. My boyfriend's order came with a side of blackberry jam that was fantastic. I believe it is housemade and I need to see if they sell it because it is some of the best jams ever. Even has actual pieces of blackberry! They gave me so much ham and the hollandaise here paired well with everything, I even had a bit of jam with it and the flavors were simply divine.

Nice, relaxing atmosphere really quiet, not too hot, and everything just kind of flowed very well. I met some people, talked with the servers, and had a mixed order between Eggs Benedict and one of the other menu called a bst scrabble. items that I'll list in my picture. They made it, accommodated it, and it all flowed and tasted wonderful. I had the drip coffee, which was fine not too strong and had good flavor. The service was impeccable and friendly. The kitchen was clean and well kept, and the coffee areas were clean and well maintained. It was just a wonderful breakfast. I will return.

Tibbitts @ Fern Hill is a spot that I've had on my list for brunch for YEARS. Finally, just…read morefinally, made it in this past weekend with my husband, sister, and dad. Without a doubt this is one of Tacoma's best dining experiences. Chef Shawn's team is small but mighty. The staff that we encountered were all super kind and attentive. It's widely known that Chef Shawn has a radiant personality and treats everybody in his restaurant like a longtime friend. He walked around chatting with everybody personally, showed off dishes as he walked through the restaurant, and was even happy to let diners take a peek at his kitchen (how does he make all this magic happen on TWO CAMP STOVES?!) The menu isn't massive, but everything on the menu is executed with precision and grace. I had a hard time deciding what I wanted but I've had my eyes on the Lobster Bomb for years. My husband got the "Tiny Burrito" which is quite literally the size of a newborn. The Lobster Bomb was excellent. Generous chunks of succulent lobster and the hollandaise was perfect! Subtle on the lemon flavor as to not overpower, but still rich and creamy. I tried my husband's burrito and the chorizo gravy is stellar. You could easily share this with 1-2 other people in my opinion. It lasted my husband two leftover meals! The restaurant itself is small but it's cozy and feels like you're at home. No frills, nothing over the top, nothing trendy. Just a relaxed vibe with lots of authentic touches from Chef Shawn. While this was our first visit it definitely won't be our last. Don't make the mistake I did and let years pass by before you experience Tibbitts!

Feels like dining in your best friend's kitchen. Make sure to make a reservation. Best…read morebreakfast/brunch we have ever had.

And a Chicken Fried Steak breakfast, eggs over easy. And sorry, but I know my French Toast Bears Choice was the best. They use their awesome sourdough bread to dip and toast. Perfectly toasty with that soft luscious interior It's worth the drive. Are the scrambled eggs fluffy and flavorful? Yes. The bacon crisp and hash browns tender with a crisp crust? Yes. And my spouse was all about the perfect over easy eggs and chicken fried steak. But I swear by the french toast. Should have reviewed this place before, I mean it's been years. Seating was quick, even though they were busy. Plan on taking some home unless you are eating big (or burning calories). Black Bear Diner has one of the largest takeout container budgets in the industry. And who doesn't like two for one meals? Excellent selection of desserts (we always plan to take some home, cause we are always full). Restrooms are clean Service is good
