Thank you Gib's for the delicious bagels to break my Yom Kippur fast…read more This shop does not have all the Jewish style deli you might be looking for , but their cream cheese, lox and cream cheese spread are just enough and the bagels were wonderful!! The bagel centered sandwiches here are excellent with generous portions of meat (if you're into…read morethat) and tasty bagels. Service is good but can get overwhelmed during lunch hour. However, the hot drink menu is confusing and bizarre in some places. This would be no big deal if it weren't a bagel place. Where arguably hot drinks are probably the menu item for which many frequent the establishment. Today, try as I might I couldn't simply get two espresso shots the advertised price on the sign. Both people working tried to ring it up as two separate espresso shots at around $3 a piece. They didn't bat an eyelash at my comment that why would I pay $6.50 for two espresso shots when a latte that contains two costs around $5. They said to ask upper management who sets the prices. Their sign for espresso has the sizes in oz which makes no sense as espresso itself is already a standard size/volume. But even the sizes on the menu for espresso have 2 shots, 3 shots, 4 shots written under them (priced reasonably as a drink) and then the price to add milk is +1. So, the menu pricing as designed makes some sense. But, the staff doesn't seem to understand how to ring up the items it would seem. Anyway, I had to settle for a latte as I couldn't bring myself to pay $6.50 for 2 shots of espresso.

RMBW only offers delivery through the services so I used DoorDash, and ordered 2 lox sandwiches plus a dozen bagels and 2 flavored cream cheeses to share with all his new friends in the dorm. He was so excited and told his friends the bagels were en route. What was actually delivered was the 2 sandwiches only and nothing else. I called the restaurant, they admitted screwing up (only handed one bag to the Dasher instead of 3) and said there was nothing they could do about it other than I could call DD to have my money refunded. I left a message for the restaurant's OWNER (who, 3 days later, has still not called me). I spoke with DD, got a PARTIAL refund only of the undelivered food, it cost me $20 for 2 bagels (since I had to tip the driver, who did nothing wrong) and my poor son got a lame gift from his mom on his very first birthday away from home. There were so many opportunities for RMBW to make this right and they ignored all of them. This is the most negative review I've ever left a business and I stand by it. How incredibly disappointing.

Well, recently on my way home from working out at the Aztlan Center I was thinking about lunch and decided to turn the corner at Maple and whaddayaknow, there was a spot right there. I was hoping it would be more Jewish deli as in pastrami piled high on rye than bagel shop, but it is what it is. I decided to try one of their specials which must have been off of their spring menu since I don't see it online right now. I think it might have been called the Addison? Egg salad and potato chips on a bagel. I love egg salad but hadn't ever thought about putting potato chips on it - genius. I think my friends from NYC would probably say the bagels aren't chewy enough, but I think the not-so-chewy texture is just fine for a sandwich - who needs egg salad squirting out when you take a bite? I wasn't sure what I wanted to drink - the server went through a few options and hit upon an iced matcha latte - that sounded like it would hit the spot. Relative to other places one can get an iced matcha latte I think the one at CYM is a pretty good value - a large cup, not too much ice, and tasty. While it didn't take long for my order to come up, I will say that the interior of the shop is jarringly pink - I dunno, bright enough to put me on edge like someone was kvetching at me. Maybe that's the point?

They quickly put my order together and delivered it in a paper sack to my table and I ate in. The sandwich was flavorful and full of meat and veggies as ordered. While I liked it, the meat seemed too salty whereas the wheat roll was very good. All ingredients seemed quite fresh. The chicken noodle soup lacked flavor, chicken and noodles. I've had lots better many places and won't have that again. I liked the rock and roll portraits that were the mainstay of the decore. The place was clean, but the motion-activated paper towel dispenser in the bathroom only spits out about 5-6" of paper for each activation - annoyingly stingy. I don't know that I will return due to the lack of overwhelming satisfaction with the food. Just over $20 for a salty sub and a ho-hum bowl of soup is not a big driver to bring me back. Service, on the other hand, was really nice.
