Love, love her!! She was doing her residency when we first met her. She is professional, knowledgeable and compassionate. This wonderful pediatrician has our doctor go to doctor. read more

Although the group of pediatric doctors here (Piel, Patton, Gonda, etc) have a good reputation, our experience with Dr. Aicardi was very negative. She saw our son over a period of years. During that time, she: 1. Failed to figure out what was causing him to get sick every winter for months at a time. He missed so much school he almost didn't graduate from 8th grade and missed a whole semester his freshman high school year. She eventually gave up on him and we had to talk her into trying different tests. 2. Refused to sign paperwork so the school would give him a tutor while he was out sick for months at a time. She said that she didn't think that he was really sick and that we should make him go to school. 3. Wrote a letter to the school without telling us saying that because she couldn't find anything wrong with him, he should be in school. The school then accused us and our son of truancy. 4. Told us that we were "poisoning" our son after we told her that we were taking him to a homeopath who actually figured out what was wrong (food allergies and a GI tract wrecked by antibiotics from the doctors) and gave him supplements (vitamins mainly) that helped him to regain his health. 5. Gave me a 30 minute rant once while examining my son about how much she hated practicing medicine under HMOs. read more

We have been with Dr. Aicardi since our first chid, who is now 6, was born. She also sees our 3yr old son. We've had nothing but positive experiences with her and the office staff. She's warm and nurturing with the kids. My son is particularly difficult at his check-ups and she is always very patient with him. We are routinely asked if we have any questions and/or things we'd like to discuss. We seldom wait long to be seen and do not feel rushed once we are in the exam room. I wish parking was easier around the office, but that's the nature of the game in most parts of the city. read more

We've been with Dr. Aicardi for a few years now with our kids making regular visits to her office. We have always been happy with her and trust and respect her advice. She routinely takes time to explain things to us and goes beyond the physical health of our kids to make sure they're developing properly overall. We rarely have to wait beyond our appointment times and they are very accommodating when the kids suddenly get sick and need a quick appointment. read more

I have known Dr. Aicardi for over 35 years, as she was my pediatrician when I was a young girl and when she was the new associate in the practice. She has always been extremely caring and responsive to our needs and very knowledgeable and practical in her advice not only on medical issues but also on parenting and child development issues. She is now the pediatrician for our three young sons, and although she has a very busy practice, she has always taken the time to communicate with us, follow up with us on test results, inform us with advice and guidance on specific medical questions, make time in her schedule to talk with us, etc. Her advice to help with everything from nightmares to colds to rashes to tantrums has always been spot on - much better than our own personal Dr. Spock. Dr. Aicardi is simply terrific! read more

It's about time I put a review in for Dr. Aicardi. She is the very perfect combination of solid, warm, intelligent and unbelievably experienced. Given that we're both physicians, I knew my husband and I would be tempted to freak out over, research, and attempt to diagnose, prognose, and treat every little bump and illness of childhood in our own kids. This never turns out well, so I knew we needed someone super experienced, funny, and calming to be our kids' pediatrician. I adore Dr. Aicardi. She is the best. Hands down. read more

We recently moved from San Francisco and miss Dr. Aicardi! She is extremely patient. She always listened and answered all our questions before rushing into an exam of our two daughters. She offered practical advice, both from her own experience as a parent and her tenure as a pediatrician. The advice nurse was also very helpful. read more

Where to begin...Dr. Aicardi is special. It seems like the tendency when we yuppies have children is to over think and worry ourselves sick about every little thing, whether it be developmental milestones, potty training, eating, the cold virus du jour, everything and anything. Dr. Aicardi teaches you to relax, preserve your own sanity and be calm, intuitive and rational about your children's care -whether it be treatment, interactions, education, whatever. This may not jive with everyone, if paranoia, panic, obsessiveness or smothering is your thing - but we feel like she's the doctor the universe designed precisely for us and we're so fortunate to have her for our two children. We know that she is very dedicated to our children's health and development, while at the same time teaching us the perspective new parents need to stay healthy themselves, both mentally and physically. We felt so confident and experienced with her guidance for our first child, which is not consistent with our friends' stories about their pediatricians. So yeah, anyway, we think shes great. You will too. read more

I have Dr. Eileen Aicardi as the primary care physician for both of my kids. I am very pleased with the service and courteousness of her staff. I have never waited over 5 minutes in the waiting room for a scheduled appointment. The kids really like her, except when they get shots, (they're normal). Dr. Aicardi is very competent and thorough. She always has practical suggestions for healthy growth and for the other things kids face ( like fear of the dark or monsters). Dr. Aicardi gives great advice on child rearing, drawing from her own experience. Dr. Aicardi is the real deal, caring, nurturing and competent. She deserves five stethescopes! read more

Dr. Aicardi has seen all 3 of my kids since birth and she has been nothing but wonderful, trustworthy and accomodating. She was also my husband's pediatrician growing up. The practice as a whole is also very accomodating and professional. In the instances that my kids have to see another Dr for a same day appointment, they have been great as well. There is usually no waiting for appointments. The only downside would be the sometimes difficult time getting parking in the area. read more

Let me begin by how she met my son 16 years ago. As a new mom in the hospital I fed him, wiped his rear end, to make him presentable to the new doctor, Dr. Aicardi. Well, by the time Dr. Aicardi came to the hospital room a half hour later and opened my baby's diaper, let's just say he must have had a massive explosion of a stinky kind. I was so embarrased! She didn't blink, told me she had 5 boys at home, and she just carried on and wiped it all up like she was his long lost granny. I knew she was our doc. from then on. Over the years she has always taken the time in each visit to chat with us, to ask detailed medical questions, and provide detailed answers. She has been an excellent pediatrician for my son and my daughter as well. They both really like her too, which counts for alot. read more

When our kid was born I asked my father (who is also a pediatrician) who we should see in SF. Dr. Aicardi was his first choice. Her advice has always been sound, and when our second child was born we happily continued to see her. We feel lucky to have Dr. Aicardi as our pediatrician. read more

This woman totally rocks!! She was my pediatrician a million years ago - and I knew when I had my own children, that I wanted her to be my kids' doctor. We have been with her for 9 years and she is THE BEST!!!! I have found her to be responsive and available. When I have called and left messages, they are returned same day - I am not "an elite well-to-do" type - I work for the City (so I have insurance), live in the SE part of town. That people started hating on her because her son was arrested in pure insanity (I guess none of these people are familiar with the constitution - "Innocent until proven guilty" (which I don't believe her son was.....) Bottom line, there is not a better pediatrician in town, and I am THRILLED to have her as my kids' doc! read more

Dr Acardi is truly the best! Our daughter had some medical problems when she was first born and Dr Acardi was there through all of it helping us make decisions and making sure she got the best care. She is more than just a wonderful doctor she is a great person. She holds my daughter like she is her own and she gives me real fact based advice. She teaches me something new each visit and always takes time to answer our million questions. I feel so safe and happy my daughter is in her care. We were so lucky she took her as her patient! Reading the bad reviews just makes me sad and confused. They must be talking about someone else! Everyone in the office is wonderful. We are so grateful for Dr Acardi and tell her at each visit! If you want an involved, compassionate, knowledgeable, down to earth doctor then chose Dr Acardi! She is truly the BEST!!!! read more

I am not a fake member with 1 or 2 reviews, and I am suggesting that you ignore all of these misguided PC police vigilante wannabees. You can hate social injustice, violence and homophobia just as much has I do, which is VERY much, however all of you idiots are aiming your anger at the wrong person. Dr. Aicardi did nothing to anyone here, it was HER SON who is the one that you should all be hating, NOT HER AND OR HER PRACTICE. Just because someone's kid turned out to be an idiot doesn't mean you need to slander their business's reputation, she is in no way responsible for her ADULT son's behavior. Having had been a patient for the first 19 or 20 years of my life of Dr Gonda, a member of Aicardi's practice, I can testify to you that they are in no way a group of elitist, close minded top 1% serving doctors; in my experience they have been very down to earth, open minded, kind, caring, as well as egalitarian. I have been treated by Dr. Aicardi herself once or twice, and can say that she was a very nice person, and NOT one to support her son's recent behavior. She is not some elitist, vicious hate monger, secretly coaching her son to attack gays and hate people who are different that he. People can learn that on their own, not just from emulating their parents, and I am sure this is NOT a case of that. Whether you choose to assume that her parenting is to blame or not, it doesn't matter, she is not the one to blame for what her kid did. It is his own doing, his own personality, hatred and shortsightedness, not hers or that of her practice. Dr. Aicardi and the other members of her practice are all excellent doctors, and in my experience doctors who will take extra steps to ensure the health and happiness of their patients as well as the families of their patients. I'm sure that most, if not all of you people giving bad reviews based on her son have never even met or done business with any of these doctors. You are all abusing the purpose of this website, which is to review the quality of THE BUSINESS, and INDIVIDUALS WHO WORK there. You are sabotaging this poor woman's practice because of a snippet you read in a news article about something her foolish adult son did. Take out your anger elsewhere, take it out on the people who are actually responsible for what occurred... Don't prove that you are one who is foolish as well. read more

Dr. Aicardi was the first to examine my first child almost 13 years ago, and is still our doctor today. She is knowledgeable, kind and caring. She takes the time to explain and listen to me. But the thing I admire most about her is how she treats my kids. She does not baby talk them or act as if they are not there. She treats them as the intelligent, thoughtful human beings they are and I really appreciate that. I would recommend her highly! read more

Our sons (now 20 and 14) have seen Dr. Aicardi since they were born. In the past, she has been voted the best pediatrician in the Bay Area, and she deserves it. When my older son was diagnosed with his medical issue, I was worried and frantic. She met me in her office (outside office hours) at 7 in the morning and talked to me as long as I needed! Over the years, every dignosis has been accurate; her experience is invaluable. We have felt like she has been our country doctor. My 20 year old has been reluctant to find another doctor for himself now that he can no longer go to Dr. Aicardi. read more

Dr. Aicardi was my doctor my whole life and now I am a sophomore in college and miss having her to see when I need advise. She helped me when I was diagnosed at a very young age with Polycystic Kidney Disease. i always felt comfortable through all those years as an infant to a young adult. Thank you Dr. Aicardi. read more

Very traditional, does not want to listen to parents at all. I guess she failed to do the right thing for her kids.
