We had a breakfast here last week and while the food was ok, I"m not sure if I will be back. I ordered the Spartan omelet (spinach, feta, onions, tomatoes) which tasted delicious, but it looked more like a scramble than an omelet. No big deal, it all tastes the same, but the cook definitely had trouble "omelet-ing" it. I ordered hashbrowns as my side and asked for them extra crispy. They came out almost entirely undercooked and looked the same as my son's who did not order extra crispy. My husband mentioned it to the waitress and about 10 mins later she came back with an empty plate and asked me to put my hashbrowns on there and she would cook them more. A little unusual method of rectifying that, but ok. They came back crispy but didn't taste good. My son and husband ordered the meatlovers omelet. Both enjoyed, but one definitely looked like an omelet and one looked like a scramble. My daughter ordered the "Homemade Biscuits and Gravy"...........the gravy was definitely out of a can, and it was only one biscuit with an entire bowlful of gravy. I wouldn't recommend that! The plain biscuits were quite tasty and the perfect texture though. Our youngest had the pancakes and they were also tasty. But it was a pretty average experience, so not sure if we will be back as I am sure there are better options in the area. read more

Ordered the eggs benny and was very disappointed. The eggs were more like hard boiled with no runny yolk, the english muffin was hard to cut with a regular knife and the potatoes were cooked on top and bottom but middle layer was not cooked and they had no taste. This is my 2nd time being disappointed so I probably won't be returning. You think they would have offered to redo the meal but all they offered was about $1.50 off bill. While driving in from the airport, the Five Guys signage drew us into the strip center, BUT the fresh look of EggCetera just drew us in. Our first meal was a delicious cheeseburger and great service. This is the BEST breakfast/lunch spot in Fort Myers!! The food and service are "eggcelent"! My fiancé likes to do a surprise trick where he asks servers to bring him something special off of the menu. Yvonne, our wonderful server, as well as the owner Tom, and chef Mike, made our surprise trick experience better than we could have imagined. They also switched their menu a bit but didn't even hesitate to make me my favorite old menu item upon request. Had breakfast here. I was 'egg'cited to try this place out. I walked in and got seated... had a potato pancake Benedict which sounded yummy and different, but it came out mediocre. The hollandaise sauce is nothing to rave over. Pretty bland in my opinion. The potato pancakes tasted like frozen hash browns that were not cooked good enough. Another reviewer wrote how the fruit bowl was warm. He was right. Warm fruit. Really? Sad to say I don't recommend this place unless you like paying a little more for so-so food that doesn't make your taste buds go 'mmmm'. read more

"Eggcetera" sets the standard quite high for restaurants, breakfast and otherwise. Staff was friendly and inviting. Restaurant was clean, the floors, walls, light fixtures, tables, and chairs. Bathroom, too. Prompt attention with coffee, water, and menu. The coffee was surprisingly very good  for a non-coffee specialty house and my server offered refills with perfect timing. I ordered Smoked Salmon Eggs Benedict. The server offered that the salmon was not heated and asked if that was ok, some folks may have been off-put by the chilled smoked salmon she explained. Not an issue for me. The dish's presentation was very, very good: a large plate with the Benedict on one side, home fried potatoes, and a wonderful, refreshing watermelon slice. The Benedict was finished with a sprinkle of paprika rather than ho-hum parsley, the paprika being an absolutely brilliant presentation. There was a small scattering of sliced green onions and capers. The eggs were nicely poached and the Benedict was of proper consistency and not over- or under- whelming. The English muffin was topped by baby spinach and the thinnest slice of tomato. The owner held the door for me as I left and asked how everything was. I actually told him the above comments and told him that I would be writing this review. I will be in that neighborhood this week and have every intention of having another visit to Eggcetera. I walked in with 3 friends and wanted to sit in a booth, the older male host at the door was rude and didn't let us sit where we had asked and there were open booths but he said it wasn't that servers "turn" so we sat at a table in the middle of the restaurant. The food and the service was amazing, we just felt bad for the servers running around trying to do THEIR job when this guy is supposed to be seating people and he is getting coffee and waters for tables. Extremely overpriced for low quality food! $3.50 for tiny "fresh squeezed orange juice" that tasted like boxer orange juice. Up chargers for various items, spent $50 on breakfast for two people. I work next door so I called ahead to place a takeout order, girl who answered the phone was SO RUDE. Asked "what do you want" instead of "what would you like to order". I placed my order and she didn't even ask me what sides I wanted. She kept asking "is that all" and when I asked for the total she hung up. Poor customer service. Now I believe when people say the phone etiquette of the workers SUCK. This has happened multiple times when we order from this place. Only good thing is the food. read more

I ordered a toasted bagel with cream cheese for 3.50 off the menu. I asked for a side of tomato and onion and was charged 2.95 for two small slices of tomato and .50 for the one slice of onion. (The onion price I was ok with). I questioned the high cost of the tomato and was told "that's what my boss said". I know there are charges associated with customizing an order at a restaurant, I am used to it, as I order this frequently at most restaurant, but have never paid more for two slices of tomato and onion than the bagel with cream cheese. The reply from the waitress felt like the "boss" was price gauging. Won't return....a grocery store bagel, with a prepackaged cream cheese, one slice of onion and two small slices of tomato = $6.95 plus tax and tip = rip off! read more

I can't comment on the food because I never made it past the extremely rude, disrespectful and discourteous cashier. I stood at the counter waiting. There was a customer before me. When that customer left, the cashier just walked away without a word. I waited. While she was away, a number of people came behind me. She waited on them. One lady even mentioned that I was there before her. She waited on them and the next person also. Finally, she asked me if I had been helped. I couldn't believe it! I said, "Now is when you're asking me?" Her response was, "I'm asking you now, aren't I?" I walked out. I am tired of business owners that do not train their staff on customer service. Don't they realize that is what makes or breaks a business. My visit was the first and definitely the last. No need to spend my hard earned money at a place that doesn't appreciate it. read more

This was my second experience here. The first was terrible, but I figured I'd give it a second chance with lower expectations.... trying not to compare it to my go to breakfast spot. I was expecting mediocre diner food from up north- which I was fine with! And grew up on! I was going to the hospital and visiting hours weren't until 8- so I said why not. The first clue that at 730 I was the only soul in the dining room should have been reason 1 to turn around. I ordered, from a water who could hardly speak English - young kid that resembled more of a bus boy. My meal was served and I immediately asked them to remake my omelette - since it is the norm to put the cheese on the inside. Not less than a minute and half goes by and my new fresh omelette is back.... but it is actually the same one, that was flipped inside out and trimmed up to look appealing, while the grease trail was still on the plate from sliding it onto the grill. Now I can see why I was the only person in there the whole time I was there!!! I have never been insulted more in my life by the lack of respect for the customer and the ignorance of the staff. I paid for my coffee- the only thing I consumed and left- still hungry. I went to the hospital cafeteria... I ate that over what I was served if that gives you any indication of how bad this establishment is! Never again- there is a reason why first watch is so busy- I will be going there next time, even if out of my way! I wonder what will open in this spot next? read more

This looks more like a large industrial warehouse with tables thrown in. Air conditioning set at the freezing point; blowers throughout the place make it exceedingly uncomfortable. The wait staff is extremely overwhelmed. Our waitress complained that she had to wait on tables at the front and back of the place. Food OK, if you don't mind waiting. Parts of meal not there "oh, I think I may have forgotten something" says our grouchy waitress. Prices OK, not great. What we need in this area is a good old fashioned NY diner!! read more

I have eaten here twice. The first time it was very good. The second time I ate there we were a party of 4 and the other 3 people had a good breakfast. I had an issue with mine. The scrambled eggs in the Two Egg Breakfast were rotten. They smelled like bad fish. I actually had two small bites. Yuck. I scrapped them onto a small empty plate we had at the table and waited for the server to return. I ate the rest of the meal which was good. When the waiter finally got back to the table I asked him to smell the eggs. Yep they were rotten. He asked if I would like more eggs but by then I was already about done eating. I'm not sure at that point I could stomach eggs anyway. My issue is that the waiter asked that the meal be comped and the owner said no because "he ate most everything else." The cashier also said no. I will not be back. They lost me as a customer today.. read more
