I now come here at least once a month, and honestly, they don't even need a review the crowd speaks for itself. My favs include Chicken Chow Mein Hong Kong Style, Beef Chow Fun, Singapore Rice Noodles, Won Ton Soup, and Potstickers. What some might consider rude customer service, is actually authentic to "old school" chinese restaurants. Xing Yuan is still located at the Marina Village shopping center. Lots of free parking. But that's when you know the food is gonna be good Ordered salt and pepper wings on friedrice & honey walnut shrimp. The wings were well seasoned and I loved how just for an extra $5 you can get basically a whole to go container of rice underneath it. The fried rice was the only okay thing, I would've liked more seasoning. The star of the show was the honey walnut shrimp. Best I've ever had, super crispy and delicious. Service is fast if you call ahead. Seems like it's only two people cooking (or mainly one while someone is at the register) so be patient but also just order ahead to save the wait time. There's seating to wait -about 4 chairs.

She went in to place an order while I waited outside with the dog. We ended up with: Eggplant w/ Chicken Breast & Szechuan Spicy Garlic Sauce Sweet Basil served with Fried Rice (5). Tons of flavor, chicken moist and eggplant yummy! Beef Chow Fun (4). This was my one request. It was pretty decent although I'd prefer a lot more bean sprouts. Spicy Crispy Chicken w/ Honey Sauce (4). Good flavor. Id like more chicken. Either more pieces or larger pieces. Salt & Pepper Fish Fillet (5). Well done! Nice crunch. Tender fish without overcooking. This was a solid meal. She said service was pretty good. There were other guests waiting for their orders and there had been a slight mix-up but everything worked out okay.

It's a small space with a parking lot, open door walk-in service and a small table and bench outside to eat there. Walking in to order, I was greeted by the front counter worker who was very polite and patient. I kept looking back and forth over the offerings and asked "What's this one?" I got the 2 item entree for $11.99 with Chow Mein, BBQ Pork and Golden Crispy Chicken along with a Honey Lemon tea for $4.50. I saw the container and it looked similar to the ones used at Panda Express: one large area taking up the bottom half with the top half split in two. Internally, I was expecting similar portions as well. However, she filled it with Chow Mein and placed both entrees on top, spreading one at the top, the other on bottom. It was packed. The BBQ Pork was sweet, Golden Crispy Chicken savory and Chow Mein was solid. The Honey Lemon tea didn't last very long on my walk. It was so good on a nice sunny day, it's also refrigerated with no ice so you get all tea! The portions are generous and I got leftovers for tomorrow, possibly the day after as well. Well worth the price. The only thing that I can knock is the container isn't microwave safe, it's Styrofoam. Give this place a chance if you're around. I asked her when they opened and learned that this is their 2nd weekend open and they have no reviews. Also they have a special after 3pm where you can get a 2nd entree when showing a photo of their flyer. It's posted on the gate!

The only decent thing was the bbq pork, and there were MAYBE 6 pieces of it. Very disappointing

On the downside, the red beans in their red beans and rice were out of a can, the breaded shrimp were previously frozen, and I'm guessing the fish was too. This time I ordered the yellow curry chicken and the fried pork ribs. The ribs were just okay, a little too fatty for me. The yellow curry chicken I would not order again. It was very bland and watery compared to other yellow curries I have had, which usually have more depth and umami. I even tried adding salt to improve it but it did not help. On top of that, the potato chunks were huge, almost the size of a tennis ball, which threw off the dish. I also got their thin chow mein noodles, which I prefer over the thick ones, and a hot and sour soup. The soup was actually one of the highlights. It had the sourness I look for since most places fall short on that, although it was a bit too salty and I had to add some water. Still, I would definitely order it again. Overall, this spot feels like one of the better fast food style Chinese places in the area. I would come back, but I would stick to certain dishes.
