Went here on a Monday for lunch and me and my wife had the entire restaurant to ourselves. Efsane has only been opened six months. We pass it on Route 36 on our way to the Highlands and decided to give it a try. Happy we did. My wife got the lunch special for $23 which included choice of soup, appetizer and entrees. She ordered red lentil soup, hummus and grilled salmon which came with rice and salad. I got the mixed seafood salad which included grilled shrimp, octopus and calamari and the fried liver cubes. Standouts for my wife were the rice and the salmon. Hummus was good, not great. Soup was tasty but a bit watery. My salad was delicious, seafood was perfectly grilled and the dressing was light, citrusy with just a hint of balsamic. The liver was also delicious, tender and flavorful. Service was great which should be the case when we're the only patrons. Place is nicely decorated with high ceilings and elegant Turkish light fixtures. Definitely worth a repeat visit!

It was a snowy day and we were craving Turkish food. We decided to try this new Turkish spot. Wow, we were surprised at how beautiful the establishment is inside. The decor is so tasteful and the ambience is classy and quiet with Turkish music playing. The service is amazing. We were greeted immediately and we were sat immediately by a window. We ordered the hummus appetizer and it was so delicious. It came with fresh homemade bread, sprinkled with sesame and black sesame seeds. We also ordered the chicken adana and the iskender. Both dishes were beautifully presented. They tasted delicious and there was more than enough food for us to even bring some home afterwards we got this delicious dessert that was something like a crème brûlée mixed with a rice pudding mixed with the charred marshmallow. it was delicious and it was decorated with a beautiful syrup. Then we had Turkish tea and it was the perfect way to end this beautiful meal. This place is fine dining at its best! All halal too!

I've enjoyed the Branzini very much ( fillet it to avoid bones) Their balloon bread is amazing with the Tapenade they serve. We always get their hummus. And their grape leaves. The Shephards salad which Is mostly tomato &cucumbers w a flavorful dressing (we put on side) .. there's just something about using their balloon bread to scoop up your salad and dips... Yep, we always get a second order of the bread... It's very light and thin and doesn't feel as gluttonous. Everybody is very courteous... It's like going to a restaurant in the city... A belly like dancer surprised us on a Friday night which was fun. I don't really wanna recommend this too much because I don't want it to get so busy that I can't get in when I want to lol but seriously it's a really great experience. They do have wine, but we bring our own and they are happy to fill a glass! Enjoy

It takes about 30 minutes to get your food and even longer to get a check after the fact. Which is crazy because my table was only one out of 3 other tables in the restaurant. A 20% tip is automatically applied to your bill, and then still asked if you want to tip ON TOP OF THE FACT so pay attention to your bill! Part of me thinks the reason the service isn't as good is because they know they're automatically getting that tip, but another part of me hopes that isn't the case. Ambiance is nice, very beautiful and great place for pictures.

The food was very good. The Greek paella was delicious and the portions huge. The Octopus was a bit tough. So I came here again for lunch last week (5/25), and I ordered the fried calamari the Spanikopita and the grilled octopus with mashed fava. The mashed fava was delicious and has become my new obsession. However, I disappointed with the rest of my lunch. The octopus was tough and one small portion had a bitter taste slightly like vinegar. It could've been that it was charred on the grill And so it tasted a bit bitter. I still ate it trying to find a piece that maybe would have tasted better and tender and then that brought back a recollection of the last time that I was here that my friend and I felt the octopus was a bit tough. Most likely overcooked. The fried calamari did not have flavor. At $21 for the appetizer, I expected better. I have a hard time trying to find good calamari and I think I've been to maybe two places that actually seasoned the breading and the calamari was delicious. Not here. It also was not served with lemon. I've gone between giving them 3 or 4 stars but decided on four since I can't give 3.5. I'm basing my rating on the cleanliness of the place, the space, the service, as the young lady who was my waitress was an absolute doll, and the fava, paella, lamb kebabs and huge portions. Would I go here again, yes, I would, but I will try other dishes. I will not be ordering the calamari here or anywhere else again nor will I be ordering the octopus here again. Note: for lunch, I spent $55.45 for the 3 items, not including tip.

Once settled in and wine (byob) opened, they bring out a fresh baked lavas bread for the table. To start, we ordered the hummus and babaganoush. When they arrived, the portions were quite ample. Both were excellent and we would have to say much better than the average that we have had in the area. We had a late lunch that day and were quite full from the ample starters, so we decided to split the Chicken Adana Kebob which was delicious and perfect to split. At that point, we did not think we could eat another thing, but we then ate the Sutlac which is a rice-pudding like dessert. VERY delicious. Both waiters, especially Talip, were genuinely friendly and attentive and made you feel right at home. Highly recommended and looking forward to going back real soon for sure.
