This small gym is located inside the Hilton San Diego Bayfront (review coming soon). Though the area is pretty nice & clean, my experience was not that pleasant. Equipped with new machines, some loose weights, a boxing bag, about 8 treadmills, 2 exercise bikes, a drinking water fountain and one TV. The gym opens at 5am, I checked in at 5:30am one morning to workout, there was no staff on site, plus the restrooms were locked. When you check into here you're supposed to get 1 free Zents Aromatherapy sample - it says you can choose to use it or save it for later BUT because there was never anyone at the desk I never got the choice to use it or save it. The next morning I checked in once again but this time at about 9am, still no staff on site but I did find the restrooms were open. With your booking you get access to all the spa amenities including the dry sauna, steam room, cold plunge pool and locker rooms. The quality of the spa is top notch. The massage was just okay, the pressure was good (she asked my preference) but I felt like she was moving a little fast so it was hard to fully relax. The main thing I wanted to share is that this is not a full service spa. They have a steam room and relaxation room, but they do not have a sauna and you have to go to the pool area to use the jacuzzi. We went out to use it and it was so crowded we couldn't get in. I was hoping to spend time with my daughter having a relaxing afternoon at the spa for her birthday. They also did not have plastic bags to put your wet swimsuits in after. For the price of a 50 minute massage ($220) I was expecting a bit more from the treatment and facilty. read more

I could not recommend this place less. There were so many issues here and we tried time and time again. First, my service was interrupted by a DOG. Why is there a dog allowed in a spa? Second, my partner and I went to use the spa (sauna, jacuzzi, steam) and the sauna was not turned on and they asked for 40 minutes to get it set up. Lastly, I booked a couples massage for $180 and they charged me $220 because THEY didn't have one room available to accommodate us both. This was not communicated at the start of services. Came in before my treatment so I could relax and sit in the steam room for a bit. After my treatment, we went out and sat poolside and had a bite to eat and grab a drink. My facial with Stephanie was excellent. She was thorough and her facial, neck/ shoulder and scalp massages felt wonderful, just what I needed! My skin is on the sensitive side and the products used were gentle yet effective... and smelled really good! I like that she used different facial devices as well. My skin was glowing and looked gorgeous! Improvement recommendations would be to have soft spa music playing in relaxation room and treatment rooms. Was also disappointed in the smaller shower in the women's room-- it had very low water pressure and it didn't heat well. Staff members at Eforea Spa are extremely kind from front desk service to masseuse, Maria. Many options of fragrances from sandalwood to eucalyptus plus many in between are available to choose from to be used as oils for massage treatment. Lockers, bathrobes, spa slippers, and endless toiletries and towels are available to change out of/into. I decided to skip the zoo and go for a massage and facial instead. The massage by Dorian was wonderful! She did a great job and I was so refreshed after. I have neck trouble and she listened to what I needed. My facial wasn't the best I've had if I'm honest. The person was very nice and knowledgeable about my skin and helped it look great but the process itself was rather heavy-handed and not at all relaxing. Zoe was great and helpful, I really appreciated her helping me with the locker and she was kind all around. Called Eforea since it is conveniently located in the Hilton Bayfront Hotel. We called for a couples massage and was scheduled to come in around 11. Started making breakfast plans and getting ready for the day then got a call from the spa stating that the women's side of the spa was getting remodeled and the couples massage is not available. Oookay, I get it. So, he scheduled for me to get a mani and pedi instead while he got a massage. The lady who did my mani and pedi was very sweet. She took her time and served me champagne while I was getting pampered. She had great conversation, but boy were they big on their up-sell game. She kept on pitching their Image Skincare products to me, which sounded great, so I thought why the heck not. She kept telling me about how it cleared her daughter's skin up so I was sold. I was very excited to try the new skin care products just to find out that THEY WERE EXPIRED. That is NOT OKAY. Expired skin care is like selling expired food if you ask me. This is something I was going to put on my face and she was okay with selling it to me just to make an extra buck. UNACCEPTABLE. On top of that, the skin care products expired back in 2018 and we got our services done in 2019. SHADY!!! STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. THEY'LL DO AND SAY ANYTHING TO MAKE AN EXTRA BUCK OFF YOU. I had a very nice "sensory indulgence" 80-min massage here, and Sally was my therapist. She did a great job, although I wish the heated stones lasted a little longer lol. The air amenities are very nice--i also took advantage of the stream room, shower (with free shampoo, conditioner, and body wash), along with hair dryers and things you might need to get ready. I only wish my flight landed a bit earlier so I could have spent time at the pool and hot tub, too. They offer water in the lounge room, but I would have hoped they would offer tea, too. The young woman at the reception was so helpful and welcoming. The steam room and relaxation room (dim blue lights, fluffy soft blankets) was heaven. My massage therapist was the BEST. So professional and extremely skilled. I was having sciatic pain and she worked my back ! Come to find out as I was leaving ( and telling the receptionist about her). I had a massage today with Freida. The spa is inside the Hilton Bayfront on the 1st floor. The atmosphere upon entering is calm. There is a boutique style area with lots of tempting things for sale, from clothes to lotions to jewelry. It's all quality stuff. I bought a romper and some shower enhancer. First I was brought to the "relaxation room" to wait for Freida. This room has comfortable loungers as well as refreshing drinks. Then I was taken for my massage. I bought a 50 minute gentle massage with yoga balm. It was perfect thanks to Freida. She was truly exceptional. Afterwards, I had a nice shower, with eucalyptus shower enhancer, NICE!!! Then I dressed and used their generously provided toiletries. I had a Wonderful experience. I recommend this spa and Freida highly for the future hotel guests And the local community. read more

I had a great massage/experience despite the negative reviews. Today was my first time having a massage at Eforea. I arrived early because the PADRES fans use the self parking structure of the Hilton on game day. Upon entering the self park structure infom the attendant you are going to the SPA, they will give you a ticket and the SPA will validate it, you won't pay! Ning was amazing! She seemed very knowledgeable about my type of neck problems and used firm pressure without hurting me, The receptionist was nice and helpful. The locker room, showers ( shampoo, conditioner,body wash soap),bathroom, Steam room, waiting lounge, massage room were clean. Steam room works great! They have a bowl with ice ( a few sliced cucumbers on the ice) nicely rolled face cloths in the ice for after using the steam room. They have plenty of fresh bath towels. They give you a robe and sandals to wear. They have water, macaroons if you like. Comfy chairs as you wait for your massage. I had the Sensory Indulgence massage, highly recommend! read more

We came here to celebrate a bachelorette party. We had 5 girls in our party, and this was the most recommended "day spa" in the area so we decided to book on a whim. 4 of the girls bought a Groupon for the 50 min massage which comes with the day spa, massage and 3 hour parking. We parked in the structure and headed to the spa. We were greeted by the staff, and the staff led us to the back to give us a tour. You have access to the gym, but I totally forgot my gym shoes, socks and attire. I did bring my bikini for the pool. The pool and jacuzzi is located outside. The pool is cold, so we just hopped in the jacuzzi for an hour. There is a small sauna that is next to the "relaxation room". The relaxation room is where people can hang out, sleep, or wait for your scheduled massages. I went in to sleep, but found that the chairs don't even recline. So basically I was trying to squish myself in a hurled position to be comfortable. There is a small candy dish with nuts, apples, hot water, tea and water. The water was not refilled so basically it's ice. It didn't feel it was crowded at the time we were visiting. There were probably a dozen women we saw come and go, but it was never a time where we felt like invading each other spaces. I didn't see the staff come around often to check on the water, and take the dirty towels/robes. In fact, the towels were overflowing and the towels on the walls were not replenished. There are only 2 bathroom stalls and 2 showers. Also 3 vanities with 2 hair dryers. The lighting is horrible in the vanity area and it was hard to tell how much make up we put on since we had dinner plans right after. The locker area is super tiny with about 20 lockers and 1 small bench. What I noticed that when we checked out, there is an "automatic" 20% gratuity, unless otherwise specified. I didn't care for that, but all the girls paid it. I don't think this spa is good for larger groups as it's a small facility. We only spent 2 hours "spa-ing" and 1 hour getting ready for our dinner. read more

I stayed at the Hilton, so it was very convenient to go to this spa. I should have checked Yelp first, though. First off, the ambiance, including the relaxation room and showers and stuff, was great and calming! However, my massage was simply... OK. I did the March Special (50 min massage, 50 min scrub). When I got inside the room, my massage therapist asked how I wanted to use the minutes? And mentioned she didn't feel the need to scrub me for 50 minutes and would recommend a longer massage? This made me question the scrub process/contents in general. Should I just have gotten the massage instead? It was such a terrible feeling the whole time (I felt like I was getting ripped off the second she asked if I wanted the scrub to be only 15 minutes instead or 50!???) My massage therapist (not sure her name -- she had a New Zealand accent) was a very talkative lady and was very nice. First, she did the body scrub on me and afterwards, I had to shower. And guess what?! The SHOWER was broken!!! (she told me it would take a few minutes to warm up and described it as "ghetto"). Sadly, paying close to $300 for the package I picked to use a "ghetto" shower to clean off the scrub put me in an unexpectedly irritated mood when it came to the actual massage. The massage therapist also did NOT ask me what pressure or style I wanted my massage to be. I signed up for a custom massage, however, I had to be the one to ask her for a firm/deep tissue massage. And guess what?! She stated she was unable to do any deep pressure/firm techniques because since her FINGER was broken!!! This was also disappointing because it was one of the reasons I wanted a massage in the first place after a few days of traveling. The steam room also had weird stuff on the bottom (pic attached). I walked out of the massage with even worse neck pain and didn't receive the massage I had hoped for during my travels. Avoid this spa if you can if you want a nice, custom massage... or at least ask ahead of time... and make sure the showers are fixed! Also they add a 20% "automatic" gratuity and ask if you want to adjust it at the end. How awkward is that?! read more

Was traveling for work and decided to treat myself to a massage at Eforea Spa whole I was in town. Conference chairs, airplanes and hotel beds can have a girl all knotted up. I was able to get an appointment the day that worked for me and the service I wanted which was a full body massage. The spa is so relaxing. A big, clean changing room and bathroom followed by a a room to relax and read a magazine while you wait. The massage was fantastic and I'm typically pretty picky about who works on me. She suggested CBD oil which I'd never tried and it felt amazing. Afterwards, I sat in the steam room which smelled like eucalyptus and just unplugged for a bit. This service was a little more expensive than what I normally pay but I figured that was the price you pay at a hotel spa in an expensive city. I've had many massages but Josh knew quickly how to address my pain and identify areas that I didn't know were causing me issues -- he could even tell I'm a fast typer based on the phalange's in my hands. My husband and I came to San Diego for the weekend and booked a couples massage at Eforea Spa. We have been here once before a few years ago and we both remember our past experience to be decent. However, my experience this weekend was not what I hoped. After check-in I went to my assigned locker and the door was open but the lock was locked as if it was not reset. I went to the front desk to ask how to lock my locker and she gave me instructions. I tried a few more times on my own and still nothing. So I go back to the front desk and the person was helping another family so I waited. I shared that the lock to my assigned locker needs to be resent because it's just locked even though the door I open. She told me to wait until she finishes helping the family, but she will be right there. When I came back to the locker room my massage therapist came to check on me. I told her i was changing but waiting on my locker to be reset. She replied don't worry about the locker my stuff is safe and to just put my belongings in the locker and someone can check on my locker. Sorry, but what is the point of having a locker if I cannot lock my belongings. When the front desk worker came she said she will actually move me to a new locker because the locker I was assigned has been giving them issues. My thought was why even assign it knowing it has issues. I finally get to my massage therapist and she says I'm 10 mins late so I'll have a shorter appointment and asked what areas should she focus on. I tell her to do what she can given the time. She said I can work on your back and do you just want me to put oil on your legs. I'm not paying $160 for someone to lotion my legs. And I would like to point out that I was not late to my appointment because of me but due to the issues with the locker that apparently is known to have issues. The massage itself was rushed and the therapist acted as such. She was moving about the room and appeared to have a rushed energy. It was definitely not a relaxing experience. I have had many massages and this is one I would not like to relive. I think I left more anxious and uptight than when I came. I give the overall experience two stars because my husband liked is massage therapist, Maria. I am glad that he enjoyed his experience. He even commented on the energy of my therapist and he didn't even have her. So I know for sure I am not crazy when he also had similar comments about the energy in the massage room. They have products neatly placed to purchase, ranging between hair, nails, jewelry, etc. There is a very nice waiting room supplied with water and hot tea, surrounded by soothing sounds and lighting. There is steam room, sauna, locker room located near the gym. The nail salon seats 2-5 people with a relaxing atmosphere. They were able to fit me in same day with no trouble. The nail technician was polite, friendly and professional. She both answered my questions and gave good advice for healthy nail care. Great experience! read more

Janos was my massage therapist and wow... he gave me the most perfect massage with perfect amount of pressure to really work out some of the tension throughout my body. I felt as relaxed as I have ever been and felt so at peace. When the massage was over, I couldn't even get up right away because I was so relaxed. Purchased a travel zoo so my friend could have her first "moms day" since having a baby - so you understand how this was such a retreat for her. Travel zoo voucher was MORE than worth it - $100 for a 1-hr massage, all day spa access, & 3 hour parking. Massage was honestly the best i've ever had i think (and i go monthly). If not THE best, in top 5. Rachael was my masseuse - highly recommend. If you've never done a full-on spa day, you will love this place. If you've done them before (as I have) this place is just average in speaking to amenities. The womens locker room would typically be separated by numerous doors to keep the noise out of the different areas, this spa utilized only curtains. You'd also have more amenities like a sauna, turkish bath, etc. Here there is only 1 steam room. I will say the pool and hot tub area outside is wonderful. Amazing view of the water, great amenities and service (food and drink), so even just sitting outside after the massage was wonderful. All in all, i'd say the experience was great and totally worth the money (and then some), but definitely not the most luxurious spa i've ever been to. read more
