On the corner of the Debden high street. Open kitchen style where you can see all the action happening. It's a bustling loud kind of place. There is seating out on the street and what looks like a full bar. Don't mistake this for a kebab take out joint, because its not.
The food is very good value, you start off with complimentary bread basket, some mayo sauce, an ajvar relish thingy, and a bowl of olives. Then you get a big plate of salad - pickled red cabbage, onions, carrots, tomato, cucumber. By the time I had eaten all the free stuff I was ready to cancel my main course.
Lamb adana and chicken beyti were good, but I don't see the point in paying more for chicken beyti, because it's the same size as a small adana and similar tasting spices. The mucver (zucchini pancakes) were also quite good, not fried overly hard.
The service was very flat and non-expressive and waitresses didn't look happy to be there at all. No one comes to check on your table, if you need anything etc. But that's ok, as long as no one is outright rude, I can live with that. I would come again, a small kebab for 9 gbp is plenty enough to keep you full with all the additional freebies they give. read more
