Finally made it in for wine and nibbles, and am so happy I did!…read more Our group of 3 found a cozy candlelit table in the back, and order a selection of wines by the glass that were on offer and very reasonably priced, between £4.50-£5.50 per glass. The menu is small but has all the essentials that a wine bar should have- charcuterie and cheese, tapenade, bread olives etc. After one glass we decided to try a bottle, and on recommendation by the staff ordered a lovely red from the cote du Rhone region, which was lush and velvety and fairly priced at £17.50 (plus £5 corkage to drink in). Lovely atmosphere with very friendly and knowledgable staff, great spot for some casual drinks and bites!

Great neighbourhood wine bar. There are lots of well-priced wines that you can buy as takeaway or…read moreyou can drink in for £5 more. All of the wines are excellent value and there is a really interesting range of European focused wines to choose from(mainly French and Italian). They also have a really good lineup of local beers. The staff know everything on the shelves and will guide you in the right direction depending on what you like and budget. They also have wines by the glass that rotate regularly and are around the £4-6 mark. They are now doing a simple but really well-executed menu of food: mainly focused on charcuterie, cheese and different flavoured bruschettas. So similar to what the other wine bars are doing around London but a little bit better. Their burrata is large but disappears very quickly from the table... All of their cured meats are delicious too. If you need to get out of the house in the morning it's a great place to read a book/newspaper and enjoy a beautiful Italian roast coffee and some sourdough toast. You can also buy this bread to takeaway.

The food ranges from various parts of Africa but predominantly East Africa. I enjoyed EVERYTHING I tried including the Ugali which is perfect with the delicious beef stew. Even the jollof rice which is a famous West African dish was delicious. It's a hidden gem in London and will soon become well known for its down-to-earth atmosphere, great vibe and delicious food. It perfect for birthday meals or nights out with a group of friends. Make sure you book your table soon before there's a waiting list!

When we walked it, it was quite busy as a huge party was occupying a table across from us. A few other guest always dining as well. Not a big place but still very intimate and quite nice. Bar available but not sure if it's full bar. We did have a couple bottles of wine with dinner. Menu, straight to the point. Tapas and more tapas. As there was couple of us, we all chose three dishes to share. Each all looked amazing. The prawns, chorizo, mussels, meatballs, hummus, sun dried tomatoes salad, mushrooms, fried halloumi sticks, the skewers, pate, avocado toast, and croquettes. Everything was really good apart from it being slightly different from the states. The only downside, the skewer were a bit dry but presented beautifully. Everything was quite tasty and plenty to share for what we've ordered. Mussels were quite tasty in the sauce, chorizo was really good. Pate was more of sliced meat versus a spread. Service was great, staff was really friendly and chatty which was great. They ended the night for us with a little cocktail shot which was quite nice. Overall, amazing service, food was great, atmosphere was nice and friendly. Will definitely return.

First chance to check out this relatively new local venue in…read moremy local village and it was a huge hit. Small, friendly, a nice location just off the main shopping area, reasonably priced and generous portions. The food was delicious and worth venturing over for whether you are local or not! We had crisp halloumi, spiced aubergine with minced lamb, chilli peppered squid, pork belly and chips, a lovely crisp Pinot Grigio (my friend's a white drinker) and a couple of liqueur coffees. All this for £30 a head including a tip. The staff were efficient, attentive and charming. Young and energised, I loved the way all the front of house staff presented one table with a birthday dessert and sang with evident delight to the guest. We were made to feel very welcome despite booking a late table and the arrival of a large party of blokes who'd evidently been out for a Christmas get together added to the very European feel of this little gem. We'll be back

This place. Just this place. Everything about it is stunning - the interior, the waiters, the food,…read moreTHE WINE, it's truly wonderful and I urge anyone to go here wherever they live in London. If you're looking for a truly unique and authentic wine experience this is the place. Tony, the owner, is so proud of his store and so passionate about his wine and produce. Everything is fresh and of top quality but at reasonable prices. We started with a glass of their lemoncello and grapefruit prosecco. For someone that doesn't really like prosecco, I loved this. We then ordered a charcuterie board (3 choices for £10) served with crackers and a lovely chutney. We had the salami and special black pepper sausage with tunworth cheese. The cheese was outstanding - packed full of flavour and melted in your mouth. The meats too exquisite - the salami was our favourite for sure! We also had a side of bread and olives. The olives were pure buttery goodness! We couldn't get enough! We also ordered the baby squid in tomato sauce - it was tasty but slightly too fishy for us. Still fantastic quality though. I then had a glass of their Italian rose and a glass of their homemade red. Both delicious, the Rose in particular was fresh and just perfect for a summers day. We couldn't have left happier and every mouthful was a pure delight! We'll be back! :)

As we were walking by to enjoy a nice meal at Trattoria Sapori to celebrate our second wedding…read moreanniversary, we noticed a new wine shop was open in Newington Green. We saw that they sold bottled beers, as well as some on draught, so we thought we'd enjoy a peek before dinner. We both had a pint, and it was so fresh and lively that it took about 10 minutes to get our pints. The inside is rustic and inviting. It would be a great spot for the pub crawls we put on for a group we lead. They do offer a large selection of wines, as well as some meats and nibbles. They've only been open a short time, but it's a nice venue that I hope gets some attention, and can expand their beer selection as time goes on. It's my understanding that it is also associated with Trattoria Sapori (same ownership), so I believe it'll do quite well. Check it out if you're in the area.
