Sticky floors, dirty surfaces, and an overall grimy vibe that makes you question how often (if ever) anything gets cleaned. It's not "dive bar charm" -- it's just gross. On top of that, the drinks are insanely overpriced for what you get. Weak pours, zero effort, and absolutely not worth the money. You're basically paying premium prices to be treated poorly in a dirty environment. The atmosphere is just awful -- uncomfortable, unfriendly, and completely lacking any redeeming qualities. There are plenty of better bars where you can actually enjoy yourself without feeling disrespected or disgusted.

If you like really divey squatter-ish local bars, with spinning lady mannequin heads, pinball machines, stuffy small smoking rooms, and a small floor for Interpretive Dancing, this is your place!!! I got hit by the men's bathroom door upwards of 15 times before finally rage-quitting and making all my friends scoot close together at the other side of the table. Everyone here speaks English, and the small dance floor is lit up with different colored lights. The atmosphere is very San Francisco dive-bar-esque. On a Sunday night at 3am, there were about 30-40 people there which was pretty impressive if you ask me. Also, the bouncer is hilarious and super nice. They started kicking us all out around 3:50am so we just walked along the red light district and canals for the rest of the night before heading back to the airport.

The bartenders speak great English (just as virtually everyone does in the Netherlands), and the prices for drinks are good. We almost didn't stop by here because my Dad doesn't like to go to places that don't have hundreds of positive Yelp reviews, so hopefully this review helps convince someone wary of trying places without doing extensive research in advance to stop by.

Of all the brown cafes I visited, this was my favorite. For one single reason. A working fireplace! And they had a cat roaming around. Contrary to what you might think, brown cafes have food!
