I did call around to quite a lot of contractors and Alex charged me a price slightly under other quotes so I was quite happy. Would definitely work with them again!

If you're looking for a skilled, jack-of-all-trades contractor, Herbert is your guy. Communication with the owner was exceptional from start to finish. No long wait times, no back-and-forth delays--just clear, prompt, and professional responses that made coordination effortless. What impressed me most was their ability to perform under extremely challenging conditions. With 25-30 mph wind gusts and a three-story exterior to paint, I fully expected delays. Instead, they performed absolute magic. Their precision, attention to detail, and commitment to getting the job done safely and correctly were remarkable. This project was for one of our premier rentals in Alexandria, and the final result looks fantastic. I would absolutely use JZ Painting again for future projects and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to others looking for a reliable, high-quality painting crew. A+ service, craftsmanship, and professionalism.

We were pleased with his crew and the work they did. 25 years later, needing exterior wood rot to be fixed and the house's trim to be painted, we thought again of Dori. His business has grown but his approach has not changed. The estimate that Scott and Pablo gave was thorough, Marvin and the crew showed up on time, worked tirelessly, were courteous, cleaned up after themselves, and did an outstanding job. Of course, as Dori led us to expect, the team discovered additional rot as they worked. I cannot overstate the diligence Marvin in particular brought to the task of identifying and fixing the rot. Dori's company is not inexpensive but it is worth every penny. We could not be more pleased about the work his team did or more enthusiastic about Dori and the company and culture he has built and maintained over time.

Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing and fell well short of what we expected, especially considering how much we paid. One of the biggest issues was the lack of consistent, on-site project management. Communication was often unclear, and we had to follow up repeatedly about problems that should have been caught and handled by the project team. For a job this large, we expected someone to be on-site overseeing the work and making sure everything stayed on track. We also paid extra for Level 5 drywall finishing, which is supposed to provide an exceptionally smooth surface. The results did not match that expectation. During the project, a heat gun was used to dry the paint, which caused bubbling in the finish, which management blamed on the paint. Those bubbles are still visible today and are a lasting reminder of the poor workmanship and lack of quality control. The billing process was another source of frustration. We found discrepancies involving the agreed-upon pricing, additional charges, and material costs. Some work appeared to be billed separately even though it was included in the original scope, and our deposit was not clearly reflected on the final invoice. When homeowners spend this much on a project, they should be able to expect good communication, quality work, proper supervision, and accurate billing. Unfortunately, that was not our experience with That 1 Painter. Based on our experience, I would not recommend That 1 Painter.

The painters were friendly and didn't need any oversight, were friendly, worked quickly, and cleaned up after themselves. We had two hiccups along the way, which both dealt with us adding on painting our front door which I offer as cautionary tales for anyone getting their front door painted: First, the powerwashing of the front door also broke our electronic lock. Patrick was quick to respond and removed the cost of the replacement lock from our invoice. (Very kind, thank you!!) Second, I don't think they told us the right kind of paint to buy because it has always looked too matte and stroke-y, and has lately started to bubble. In the future, I would do more research about what type of paint to buy rather than ask the guy who shows up -- I shouldn't have sprung it on them, even though they were more than happy to do it. Who knew that door paint selection could be such a process? Despite these two notes, I would definitely use Patrick's again in the future. It's hard to find a place that offers great customer service these days, and I am very grateful!

When I bought my home 13 years ago, I planned to paint the walls myself to cover the mustard yellow the previous owner had used on all the interior walls. Despite my intentions, I never found the right time for such a huge project; it felt overwhelming, and time ticked on, and I discovered I had settled for living with a color I hated. I realized I needed help, and it wouldn't hurt to get an estimate from a professional. I'd seen Jett Painting sponsored youth sports with ads at the fields, so I figured if they were giving back to their community, I should call them first. Nate arrived promptly and gave me a fair price that pushed me over the edge to give up on doing this big project myself and let his crew take care of it. The crew finished in a day and a half what would likely have taken me four to six weeks. I'm SO GLAD I hired his professional crew! When I saw the results, there was no way I could ever make my home look as nice as they did. The crew covered the floors, then patched and repaired the drywall spots and nail holes; next, they sanded it all down, and then came the exciting part: watching the old color disappear as it took on a new, brighter color. His crew had a steady hand and made perfect cut lines at the ceiling and around the trim. I'm positive I would have botched it up. What do I regret? Not calling Jett Painting years ago. Don't be like me and waste years looking at walls that don't make you happy. Give Jett Painting a call, and you'll be as happy with your new walls as I am.
