We couldn't be happier with our service from this company. Our A/C went out a couple weeks ago and they are contracted with our home warranty company. They came out and after trying to fix it with no luck... it was time for a new unit. They contacted our Home warranty company, got it ordered through them and just delivered and installed it on Friday. They took care of everything for us! When my tenant called and said her air went out on the hottest day all year I panicked. I knew we finding someone we could trust would be difficult. I called five different companies with varying reviews on Yelp. Jeff was the only one to return my call and he did so within 15 minutes. While his company was busy he was said he could get someone out first thing in the morning to at least determine what was wrong. I let my tenant know someone should be there by 9am. The next day at 945 my tenant called and said "I don't know if you've used this guy before but they were fantastic!" They showed up promptly at 9am, checked the system, showed my tenant what was wrong and had it repaired within 45 minutes. The repair cost was extremely reasonable and my tenant was happy. I have called this gentleman twice in two years for 2 unrelated issues. Both times, he responded very quickly, worked fast, and offered reasonable rates for service. But, the bonus is 1) he is extremely knowledgeable in his field 2) he is HILARIOUS :D Make sure that you hang out with him while he works because his on-the-job anecdotes are top shelf comedic material! I would not use this business. Our contractor hired them to install a new central heat in our large cabin. It has been 2 years since they put it in and started to turn off and on and not work property. I called them to come out (it was a few days before Xmas and they were going to be gone until after New Years) I asked if they could come out after that. They did not respond and then were mad that I reminded them to put us on the schedule. He said that he had gotten "real" busy in the last few days and it would be into Feb. or get someone else. I had another HVAC repair person out and the problems were all due to it not being installed properly. I have photos that I sent to them, the condensation line was not hooked up to the correct orifice, it was not even glued and it was not strapped up so trapped the condensation in the pvc pipe causing the problem. They also didn't install a frame in the ceiling for the filter, just screwed a cover into the sheet rock. And the outside condensation line vent cap was just put on with painters blue tape and blew right off in the first storm. Their workmanship was shotty and he was rude about even looking at it....Run from them! I asked him to pay for the repairs, not including the huge PGE bill from it trying to heat and our time to get it fixed and "nothing". read more

Can't say enough good things about Jeff and his company. Jeff worked seemlessly with our warranty company and took the hassle out of it for us. He is very knowledgeable about all things HVAC including our geothermal heat pump. We were also extremely impressed with Jeff's customer service...this man answered calls during the evening and on weekends and if it couldn't be handled on the phone he was out the next day to check it out in person. Jeff came out a second time to our Colfax home, because this time, my heater didn't work (last time it was the AC). Again I used my warranty company. Jeff responded very quickly (within minutes) and the repair was done the same day, in fact within a couple of hours. It works great now. Here's the deal. I had a home warranty on a house I purchased. They sent out Edwards Heating and Cooling to find out why my thermostats were acting up (not turning on for 15 or 20 minutes, or not turning off for over an hour sometimes). Their technician told me my older thermostats were still working and therefore my insurance would not cover replacing them unless they were completely shot. After complaining to the home warranty company, they said they could send the same company out again, but it would cost me another initial $75.00!....so I just lived with the problem. Why would I do the same thing, they were not going to change their minds. Now today, October 19, 2017 (long after the one year home warranty expired) the heater just mysteriously turned on. Never touched the thermostat at all. Had to go into the attic and unplug the unit, because the thermostat is just constantly on. I really believe Edwards Heating and Cooling should have caught the problem and diagnosed correctly. I will now have to find a better, more reliable heating and air company to fix the problem. We had a cracked heat extractor in our furnace covered by our home warranty. We were assigned Edwards Heating & Cooling in Colfax even though we're in Truckee. Jeff communicated clearly and promptly while we waited for the furnace from the warranty company. Once it arrived, he quickly scheduled a date for the installation. I would never call this Co. Again. They came out confirmed that the copper tubing needed replacing and then told me he'd have to come back. He would call me on Monday to set up a time. I waited all wk never called. I called again. No call. He sent a text. I called again. He sent a text saying they are three weeks out. If he didn't want to do service because it wasn't a high dollar thing then just tell me. Never again very bad customer service. read more

I've been trying to reach the owner, Jeff, but no returned calls. I have a home warranty for our boiler, and the company scheduled a day, and for the technician to call and confirm an appointment. Mark called and left a msg and I called him back. This was Saturday, Jan 26th, evening. I was very specific when I asked Mark if he was knowledgeable on boilers, he said yes! We agreed on Monday, Jan 28th between 12 and 4. Monday I waited by the phone and was home all day. Nothing....no show, no call..... Tuesday morning I called my warranty company to find out what the status was. I was informed that Mark called and told them that Edwards does not do boilers! Hmmmm! The website includes boilers in services offered! Mark told me that he did do boilers when we talked Saturday! AND then he told my home warranty company that he called and left a msg! Lie! I was home all day and carried the phone with me, both the land line and cell! I have been without heat and hot water since Jan 23rd! I have tried calling and leaving a detailed msg as the recorded msg asks - nothing! Please respond! read more

Wow! All I can say is Wow! After dealing 6 long weeks with horrible companies provided through my insurance, they finally sent me to Edward's heating and cooling. Our heater in Tahoe Donner stopped working a couple of weeks ago in this cold season and we called our home warranty service for help. They sent Jeff to get it fixed. He reported back that the furnace is too old and beyond repair. They ordered a new gas furnace for us and upon arrival of the unit he came back for installation the next day. Our heater is working again and we are happy with his service. Jeff patiently responded to all my emails and calls and answered my questions. He has a great sense of customer service! As for the new furnace, it was only installed 5 days ago and too early to say but so far so good! read more

Horrible Service. We had a warranty company for our new home. They sent out Edwards heating for our repair. They came out 5 times with no luck on our repair. Middle of winter with no heat. So i complained. what else would i do. Then they never called me back. I usually understand that things don't always go as planned but to not call back and follow through is unacceptable. We have had really bad experiances with this company and will not use them again. The technicians that come out are late or dont show up at all. When they do show up they come without the equipment that is needed to trouble shoot problems and so they leave with nothing being done...and then they charge us for the visit...and then they show up late again and dont have basic supplies like freon, and have to leave again! read more

I called my Home Warranty company when my AC didn't work this summer. They sent a Service Advisor II named Jeremy to my home and he made the necessary repair. Jeremy took took a fancy to my 8 week old Biewer Terrier dog and wanted to take him home to his family. We shook hands and made a gentlemen's agreement that I would give him my puppy valued at $600. in trade of possible ac/heating work i might need down the road that was valued up to the same amount. My heater stopped working the following December and I woke up to find my the temperature in my home in the low 40's. I take care of my elderly father with Alzheimers who is 88 years old and does not handle the cold well. I called Jeremy to fulfill his end of the bargain just assuming he would do so. Jeremy let me know that he no longer felt compelled to hold up his end of the bargain. He said he could show up 3 days later but I would have to pay him for his service. I guess a mans word and a handshake no longer hold validity. Needless to say, I won't use Edwards Heating & Cooing again and I'm considering taking Jeremy to small claims court. There are plenty of reputable companies who do this type of work. Edwards is not one of them. read more

Stay away from this business! I had Mark come out to my home from Edwards Heating and Cooling twice to fix my air-conditioning. First time he did not make the appointment and after I waited three hours he called and said he would not make it needed to reschedule. When he arrived both times, he did know troubleshooting at ALL just added refrigerant and left. He told me the air-conditioning was not performing the way it was designed to, but let's see it the performance would be acceptable. I called Edwards Heating & Cooling a third time and Mark again did not make the appointment. I called his cell phone and asked him where he was and he told me he left a message and said he wasn't going to make it. I had no miss calls on my cell phone or messages from him, hard to make excuses these days when it's not true. When I told him this, he got agitated and use swear words at me. No big deal, very immature behavior from an older man. I would not expect this kind of behavior in a professional setting. I call Jeff and he told me just to go somewhere else that Mark could not figure out this problem. I appreciate Jeff honesty on Mark's inability to do troubleshooting on heating and air-conditioning system, but you really want to call these people out to work on your heating and air-conditioning??? I have wasted a total waiting time of 16 hours for a technician that cannot do his job, or doesn't have the basic understanding of heating and air-conditioning work... read more

This company sucks. I guess its another "Home Warranty" situation. If you don't want to help people that purchased the home warranty why are you even involved with the warranty company? They never showed up when THEY scheduled the appointment. They did not call to say they could not make it. They never returned any of my phone calls. If you do not want the job just say so don't keep people waiting. There are many other Heating & Cooling companies I can call. By the way if you have a home warranty and the company they send out does what Edwards Heating & Cooling did, you can escalate your problem and they will let you have any company you want come to your home. They will pay the service fee an they just request to speak to the technician while they are at your home to make sure the problem will be covered. They tried to send Edwards to my home saying they are not sure what happened in the first place. I said NO I do not want them I want a dependable company so they let me call the company of my choice. read more

Would NOT recommend Edward's Heating and Cooling. Moved into a "new-to-me" home and had home warranty in June 2012. Air Conditioner not working, after a couple of visits, it worked, however it was then September, and no longer needed. Then in November went to use our heater (same system), and of course not working, and sounded like rocks in a grinder. Warranty company sent out Edwards, again. After replacing heat exchange, and air handler, the heat worked, this was in March of this year, still sounded like rocks in a grinder! And freezing temperatures! Took them 4 and 1/2 months to "fix"! When our warranty ended in May, guess what? Went to use the A/C, and didn't work, called Edwards, and NEVER returned our call! My husband "jiggle" a switch, which he had mentioned to Edwards as needed replacement, and the A/C worked. NOW here we are again, time to use the heater, and guess what? HEATER NOT WORKING! It still sounded like rocks in a grinder, but then it "seized" up this morning. Edwards had no problem taking our, and the warranty companies, money, but failed to stand by their work. My Air Conditioner went out and Jeff replaced my air conditioner this week in less than 3 hours. WOW!!

Using our home warranty, Edwards Heating and Cooling came out and told use we'd need a new AC unit. Warranty company was okay with that and authorized it. It is now a MONTH later and we have gotten no updates unless we call. Even then, we always have to wait for a call back and then get absolutely lame excuses about back orders or some nonsense the guy told my husband about the parts being in Fresno and he wasn't going to go pick them up. He blames the supplier of the parts. Warranty company is telling us that these parts should be readily available. If we ever have another heating or cooling issue I will refuse using this company ever again. Here comes another week of over 90 degrees temperature and no end in sight. My husband has a heart condition and this is unconscionable. I see another review where they told the person they are three weeks out. It sounds like the don't have enough people to do the work.
