I called 911 and they sent these wonderful guys from the fire department and AMR ambulance. They were at my house in 3 minutes I kid you not! There were like 10 of the young firemen and they were so sweet. They assessed the danger and helped me to breathe. After I was breathing better they would joke around. They seemed like a family of brothers. Very professional yet you felt safe with them. They talked to you as though they had been your friend all your life. They saved my life. Then this wonderful EMT man came over to me and gave me oxygen. His name was C.Styers and no I do not know his exact full name. He was a gentleman and very kind. He was gentle and respectful and caring. Through out the ride to the hospital this EMT man would talk to me with a soothing voice which automatically made me feel safe and believe that everything will be okay. C.Styers stayed with me and quickly got me into a room. Then he said good bye. He has a real connection between medicine and a patient. I was thankful for the help I received that day and very grateful.

They are patient and courteous, and they put up with a bunch of bullshit from some stupid asswholes. Some members of the public need to shut the fuck up. Anyhow I got my paperwork, my reports, etc. Similar paperwork in Kern county is quite a bit cheaper though. They seem like a squared away bunch of workers. EDIT: An explanation of why my comment above came about. While I was there either at the counter or waiting our turn, two separate people, (people who came into this place because they needed help) were cursing at the officer and calling them the devil. I don't see how someone can come into someone else's "house" seeking help and then be such an asswhole to the very people who are trying to and are tasked with helping them. At the time and place that a visit takes place here, this is not the cop who has pulled you over and is about to ruin your day. Give these guys a break!

They cooperate with the burn center's staff and volunteers, opening up the main apparatus floor for the dinner party. A large tent gets added off the back to accommodate the food serving lines, plus beverage stations, the check in desk, and photos with Santa. One of the highlights of the party is the gathering of all the burn survivors in attendance, posing in front of one of the station's giant fire trucks. Another is the introduction to the program, where the flags are marched in, accompanied by bagpipes and a drummer. The fire service traditions are so meaningful to the celebrations attendees with the close relationship between firefighters and burn patients and survivors. The graciousness of this station's welcome is so very much appreciated.
