I kept thinking I was walking into something out of a Leatherface movie, but it was quite the opposite. The staff here is very friendly and loved all of the questions we asked. We bought a Christmas ham, maple bacon and a jar a pickled relish and I can't wait to eat it all! The place is small inside, with a few shelves for biscuit mix, jams, and a huge row a trophy's for their award winning hams. They also offer smaller and tasty ham treats for the people not needing an entire ham for dinner. This place has been selling hams since 1933 and has been opened since 1910! It's literally been around for 100-years! I guess you can say they've been doing something right! Ham on, friend!

UNDER NEW OWNERSHIP!!!!!!!…read more Now known as Walker's Butcher Block this place is immaculate. The inside has been completely renovated and their approach to processing game and running the business is exceptional. Older negative review should be completely disregarded and has a big game hunter who prefers to process 100% of his own harvest, I will be taking much of my game here in the future. At my request they deboned the meat and use no saws and cutting of steaks or bones so there is zero bone fragments or marrow on my elk. They trim the sinew perfectly and what I ended up with is even better that I have had done it myself. Those of us who know the flavor of the game is 90% related to how it's handled from the moment the harvest takes place until the minute it hits your dinner plate . Walkers butcher block (previously known as the Lebanon locker) has my complete trust now and actually saved my ass when I had to travel unexpectedly on the day I was going to process my own meat. They took in my beautiful idaho harvest (6x6) at the last minute and turned it around immediately. The price is reasonable but most importantly I have an entire freezer full of perfectly trimmed and packaged meat that's ready for my grill, broiler, or crockpot. another Wilson County family owned business that goes above and beyond and we need to patronize with our business ! 100% trusted and I'm telling all my hunting friends.. feel free to call Houston's in Mount Juliet for support of my recommendation. .

Elysian Fields has the largest concentration of Kurdish people in the country. Here you will find a restaurant and a couple of markets. Azadi Market is famous for making the famous Kurdish bread which is made on the premises. I believe it's made by the women in ovens in the ground, and it's round and is about the size of an extra large pizza. It comes in a bag of four or five pieces and is very inexpensive and absolutely delicious. Do yourself a favor and try it sometime. Nice selection of frozen. If you even have trouble finding fresh ginger at the regular grocery, they carry A LOT at this store, and fresh, too. I'll be going back regularly, and it saves me a long trip back and forth to Nashville. The service was stellar. I noticed the man checking me out was glancing at the products quickly as he scanned them, and he took a frozen item and set it aside, saying it was out of date and he'd rather not sell it. I had seen it when I picked it up that it was just a week out, and I planned to cook it right away. But I didn't want to interrupt service at this level. I'd rather ensure continuing to get this level of treatment. Also, they own GIF - Great Indian Food restaurant in the same shopping area. I'll be trying that soon, too.
