I hate to do this because Dr. Ed is great doctor and I stand by him. The billing office is horrible. They sent me a statement for my appointment 11/2019. I went in person on a Saturday 2/1/20 to pay for it with my credit card. There was a young bilingual korean man (in his 30s) who took care of it. He gave me a small printed receipt not a formal one. I get another statement a few months later (the same bill) saying "2nd statement, please pay bill". I call the office during the week to talk to the billing person. I speak with an older lady and tell her that I've already paid this and I can show her my bank statement but I unfortunately do not have the receipt. I said I can come to the office and show it to her or email her, She said that's ok. She said the reason it wasn't recorded was because it was a Saturday and the billing person is not there Saturday and the young man did not record it correctly. Now 9 months later, I get another bill saying "3rd (last) statement. Please, make a payment." I don't really think they're trying get more money from me than necessary but this shows a lack of organization and unnecessary trouble for their issue with bookkeeping. Below is my bank statement. Hands down the best eye doctor ive ever met. I got a nasty stye/chalazion on one of my eye that has been stressing me out for weeks. I had a terrible experience from another doctor years ago when taking out yet another stye so i was hesitant and worried to do another incision. After doing some research, i came across Dr. Edward Lee and after seeing many great reviews, i decided to give it a try and im so glad i did cuz he was amazing! The wait wasnt too bad and the staff were helpful. (Although on my 2nd visit for a check up after the incision, they made a mistake and didnt call a whole pile of patients who made appointments and went out of order so i had to wait a whole hour...) Back to Dr. Lee though, he did a thorough examination of my stye and even squeezed in a time slot for me to do the incision as i didnt have much flexibility in my schedule to come back again. This review is for surgery I received from Dr.Lee this June for ptosis. I made a consultation to see Dr.Lee because my right eyelid was dropping and 1. It made me feel tired because I was raising that side of the face to compensate for the droopiness and 2. I was feeling alittle self conscious about it because I looked like a had a rough night everyday. During the initial consult, he took pictures and put an eye drop in my eye that "opened" my eye (raising my eyelid) to see if my eyes would look symmetrical since this was only my right eye. A few weeks later, I had the surgery. There are two options for cost depending on location and anesthesia. Dress warm the day of surgery bc it's cold and expect to stay awhile bc he is performs surgery on a lot of older clients and even though he is Korean American I've seen a mix of clients in ethnicity and age-Korean, Hispanic, Caucasian and others. The first day after surgery I didn't know what to expect. I was pretty swollen and taking Motrin for the pain but by day three was able to go out for lunch with friends and no one even noticed. I got my eyelid surgery done with Dr. Edward Lee. The surgery was necessary because I had inward-growing eyelashes that were abrading my cornea (my eyelashes were rubbing against my eyeball and causing irritation, affecting vision). I had already undergone this procedure twice before in previous years with different eye doctors because of the same issue--and both times the solution was temporary and my eyelashes reverted back to growing inwardly. Dr. Lee implemented a more effective long-term solution and the results have been much better than in the previous surgeries with other ophthalmologists: subsequent the surgery there was less bruising, recovery time was faster, and there were no complications with the stitches (in previous surgeries, I had issues with all three). Perhaps most importantly, I also know that the solution will be more long-term than in previous surgery attempts. Dr. Lee is the most personable and thoughtful doctor I've had the pleasure of seeing. I had a lower blepharoplasty done by Dr. Lee. I couldn't stand looking like an old haggard eye bagged lady because I'm still young lol. The whole process took about 4 months including the consulting appointment to the last post-op check-up. The scariest part was the waiting part before the surgery. The staff at the surgery center was very calming and accommodating. They made sure everyone was taken care of! The surgery itself took about 30-45 minutes. Make sure you have a chaperone to drive you home lol because you won't be able to see anything. The recovery phase was uncomfortable but expected. The surgery staff gave very specific instructions to ensure a smooth recovery. 1st post-op was a month after to check on the incision and the removal of stitches. After that, be patient with the swelling with ice/heat packs, put on sunscreen, sunglasses and get plenty of rest for optimal healing! Don't worry about the weird dots around the incisions because it will go away lol. For me, it took about 1.5 months after the surgery to see the final result. I finally can ditch the sleep-deprived looking face and look energized! Legit I look like my age again. If this is something that bothers you for years, get it done by Dr. Lee. His bedside mannerism, knowledge and utmost care he has for his patients shines through and I couldn't stop raving about my experience with him... He is just beyond freakin' awesome. Setting up an appointment was seamless with his friendly office staff and they do their best to fit you in the same day (and usually successful at that). After a short wait, you are called in to do the typical eye testing aka the dreaded puff of air shot into your eye...and soon after you get to see the Doctor in the flesh...prepared to be wowed! He's patient, packed with a wealth of knowledge, and will consider all your options with you - allowing you to make your own educated decision. I had recurring eye irritations from my lashes poking my cornea or getting lost in my eyeball (eek) and thought I had to get a procedure known as blepharoplasty done to correct it - but Dr. Lee didn't push that on me and gave me other non-invasive options. I decided to get the surgery after he patiently answered all my questions and he miraculously fit me the same day to accommodate my tight schedule. Honestly, I was blown away. I went in to Dr. Lee's office after reading all the Yelp reviews, and I'm so glad I did. Big creds to Sohee P. for her review and thoughtfulness in including a picture of the entrance to the parking garage!!! Thanks to that picture, I was able to find the parking lot during my first pass! The waiting room is small, and when I walked in, it was packed with the elderly all patiently waiting for their turn. Wait, let me begin from the beginning... I get frequent styes on my eyelids. It usually happens during high-stress and high-pressure times, and with my wedding only three weeks away... I have an ophthalmologist I usually go to, but it's nearly impossible to get an appointment in within the next few days, and even with appointments, I'm usually sitting in the waiting room for a good 1-1.5 hours for them to even call my name and ask me what I was there for. I never thought about finding a new ophthalmologist because he's still a good doctor, and over the years, I had just gotten used to waiting... and waiting... and waiting. That and the fact that whenever I walked in with a stye, he drained my stye without argument because he knew it would stop me from freaking out any more. Over the weekend, my stye had become so big and painful that I knew I had to see someone STAT. So, Monday morning, I called my usual ophthalmology office and was told that they were booked that day, but (of course) I was welcome to come in and wait for a cancellation. So I scrolled through Yelp and came across Dr. Lee's Office. I called in as soon as they opened at 9 AM, and was told that they had a slot at 9:30 AM. The staff were uber friendly - even to some of the most difficult patients. I still had to wait a bit, but what I appreciated most was Dr. Lee's approach to my condition: Me: Hi, I have a stye, and I need it drained today. Him: Hi! Let me take a look at it first. Me: Okay, sure! But I need it drained today. Him: Okay. Let's just take a look. Pokes around, pulls, pushes, flips the eyelid out, flips it back, lots of "hmmm"s... Him: I don't think you should drain it today. Me: I'm getting married in a couple of weeks. I need this sucker gone now. Him (chuckling): I think we should try antibiotics. It's not good to just cut into a stye every time. Me: Oh... Today is Day 2 of antibiotics, and my stye is CONSIDERABLY smaller. The pain is nearly gone, and I have learned the error of my ways. Ever since middle school, my right eyelid stayed monolid and my left eye became double eyelid. After a few years out of college, I started to notice a pretty large difference between my right and left eye when I stared in the mirror and looked at photos. I decided I want to fix this and eventually found Dr. Lee's yelp page. I was a bit hesitant since this was the first place I chose to visit from my initial Yelp search. Sometimes the 1st one is all you need because Dr. Lee fixed my mono lid quickly, easily and professionally. Amazing work! I've never done any cosmetic surgery but after the initial meeting with Dr. Lee, I knew I was taken care of. The day of the surgery was pretty much the same as the initial consultation. The surgery took no longer than 30 minutes and I was out the door right after. It took about 1.5 weeks to fully heal but in 4-5 days, most of the bruising was gone. My family has been going to Dr. Lee for years now. He is very knowledgeable, professional, personable, and kind. Most of all you can tell he really cares for his patients. We really trust him and value him so much so that we started seeing him from Cerritos and followed him to LA even though its further for us. The staff is great there. Although the receptionists are native Korean and have accents, it's easy to communicate with them and they are sweet. The waiting room is your typical Dr.'s waiting room and the Hawaii videos they show can be relaxing, although it personally just makes me really want to go there. The only con really is that the entrance can be hard to find, otherwise I'd give 5 stars. It's on Alvarado, where the intersection is (3rd and Alvarado). I'm one of those people who hate going to the doctor's office. I always wait until it is absolutely necessary that I go. I'm not sure if it's fear or... it's probably fear. I had a persistent eye crust problem for over a week and couldn't open my eyes in the morning. I decided to make an appointment with Dr. Lee because my symptoms were getting worse. I took my dad, who is over 90 years old, to Dr. Edward for a consultation regarding his eyelashes. My first time ever to an eye clinic in the US and I had a great experience at this clinic. I was able to get the appointment within couple hours. At the clinic, the waiting was short, staff was sweet. Dr. Edward was very nice. He was soft spoken, down to earth and came across as a knowledgeable person. He didn't rush me and was very attentive. I paid 180 USD for consultation, eye pressure test, field vision test and a photograph of the inside of my eye (can't remember the right term). Dealing with eye problems are scary. I recently had a pretty crazy irritation in my eye and after some time passed, decided to go see a specialist. I had no idea what an opthaljaefnoafoageoag was prior to seeing Dr. Lee. I was referred to him through a friend who also went to him for the same problem before (which I later found out to be a stye). I always prided myself for keeping fit, paying attention to detail, and looking as good as I feel. While my right eyelid was always heavier than my left--giving a slightly smaller eye appearance than the left, it was not very noticeable until I turned 50 years old. In photos that give 2 seconds of movement, was right eyelid was always dragging behind the left with opening and closing. It was asynchronous and made me look tired. I am a nurse practitioner so did extensive research before choosing Dr. Lee because of his experience, education, and positive reviews. Dr. Lee permitted me to have the surgery on an outpatient basis in his office--which was my preference. He collected a reasonable, affordable sum. He removed a significant amount of unneeded heavy eyelid from my one heavy right eyelid. The RESULT WAS AWESOME! I look better now at age 54 than I did at 44 because of this eye balancing procedure.
