Honestly super happy to write this review. I had a great time talking to Dr. Lee about my surgery and going over the procedure and answering any questions I had. Dr. Lee is very considerate of the patient and won't hesitate to make sure that they're okay before, during and after the surgery. Eyelid surgery went well overall! And I would totally recommend him 100%.

This review is for surgery I received from Dr.Lee this June for ptosis. I made a consultation to see Dr.Lee because my right eyelid was dropping and 1. It made me feel tired because I was raising that side of the face to compensate for the droopiness and 2. I was feeling alittle self conscious about it because I looked like a had a rough night everyday. During the initial consult, he took pictures and put an eye drop in my eye that "opened" my eye (raising my eyelid) to see if my eyes would look symmetrical since this was only my right eye. A few weeks later, I had the surgery. There are two options for cost depending on location and anesthesia. Dress warm the day of surgery bc it's cold and expect to stay awhile bc he is performs surgery on a lot of older clients and even though he is Korean American I've seen a mix of clients in ethnicity and age-Korean, Hispanic, Caucasian and others. The first day after surgery I didn't know what to expect. I was pretty swollen and taking Motrin for the pain but by day three was able to go out for lunch with friends and no one even noticed. Dr. Lee has great manners and is kind. Reference my pic: The top shows pre surgery. Bottom is three day post surgery. Tip: ladies I would hold out on land extensions by surgery and post surgery.

Our children have myopia and some other issues that need to be monitored regularly by a pediatric ophthalmologist rather than an optometrist. It's been so helpful to us with our busy schedules that we have her office down the street from us. Our kids have been seeing Dr. Simon since they were very young... I'm talking 6 month old preemie young. She is highly skilled at her job and is experienced in getting squirmy, pre-verbal children to cooperate and have fun responding to her directions and questions. It's been amazing to watch her interact with our children over the years during their different stages of development. She remembers everything about them at every visit and encourages them to continue to be good people, respect their eyes, and their glasses at a young age. I've had to call the office for various accommodations and emergencies and her staff has always been on top of things. They are always very friendly, understanding, meticulous, and work fast at helping their busy young patients. The only change that came about during the Covid pandemic of 2020 was the office doesn't accept any insurance plans right now. That's not too surprising. The office used to accept insurance before the pandemic. Hopefully times will improve and her office will accept insurance again sooner than later.

She responded "well do you wanna be alive?", just completely not understanding my fear or my repeated desires that I would prefer to be alive. Her parting words were to give me a hotline number if I felt I was going to harm myself even though I had made it abundantly clear that again, I wanted to live and was scared I was dying. And thirdly I had Dr. Lee who I am convinced is just a robot. He had the compassion and empathy of a toothpick and when I tried to just express a concern, he mansplained seven times in a row that because I don't have those symptoms now he wouldn't prescribe anything. No shit! No acknowledgement of understanding my feelings or medical history, just gave me robotic, repetitive responses.

I was excited to try this eye doctor after a recent move, but the way that the women (particularly Aime, and her superior who she called over to "help" (not sure of her name, but blonde hispanic woman 5'5" in her late 30s/early 40s) spoke to me was completely unnecessary and uncalled for. First, I had asked Aime a question about F something on their intake form that I was unsure about. She immediately spoke down to me, spoke to me like I was an idiot, gave me attitude and a dirty look, and refused to answer my question. Then she called me over to tell me that my insurance does not cover what I needed (which is untrue--I've already scheduled another appointment elsewhere and they confirmed that I will be covered fully, so this must be a Tricounty business fee; another reason to avoid this place). I asked for more information about what this fee was for, and she continued to give me attitude and speak down to me as if I was a child. Her "supervisor" came over to explain the fee with even more attitude (smirking, cutting me off, looking at me sideways). On top of this, their explanation wasn't even a true explanation, more of "that's just how it is here, deal with it" rather than a true reason for the charge. I had been warned previously that this business likes to trick their customers into additional charges and lock them into using their full insurance benefit to use with them (such as using your insurance towards their overpriced frames that could be purchased elsewhere), and I hate to see that this might be true. It would be in the best interest of the business to create better representation for themselves out front, I have no clue why anyone goes here at all with this sort of completely unprovoked mean-girl treatment.

I went to see my ophthalmologist & he said he wouldn't medically clear me unless the surgeon is Dr. Tooma. I finally get around to getting a consultation & specifically asked for Dr. Tooma. He also had very limited appts since he is the OG in eye procedures! My patient Liason was Jennfier, who is a total sweetheart. Dr. Tooma was awesome in explaining why he recommended EVO ICL over lasix. He was also one of the original surgeons who brought all this technology to California. Now I can see why my ophthalmologist wanted me to specifically see him. I decided to go with his recommendation since he is the expert. Pre-op procedures were very extensive, which I don't mind at all. I opted to purchase the medicated eyedrops through them. The procedure itself was at a different location nearby. Entire staff has been wonderful. I had my procedure done yesterday. I returned to the clinic in the afternoon for a post op check & also came back earlier today. I have not been able to drive due to the healing process, but I should be able to see. I am still sensitive to the light and there's still a lot of inflammation in both eyes. I am gradually able to see better, so it just takes some patience. I am returning for another check up tomorrow.
