I'm not a fan of this place. when our kids first started parochial school we were urged to come here as if this was the only place to get official uniforms. It's not. And thank goodness for that, the staff is not friendly at all and once after waiting 10 minutes for someone to notice I was there, I just started going through the stacks of clothes myself. Well that got their attention because apparently you arent allowed to go through the stacks by yourself. If it's too much bother to help people pick out your overpriced stuff then get another job. Also found out we can get the same jumper pants and shirts elsewhere so I havent been back in a year. They also need to upgrade their selection of school sportswear, really dont have anything to offer in the way of sweatpants or hoodies. read more

Terrible customer service! I have been buying from Educational Outfitters for the past 3 years because it was the only company our kids' school used. I have had several issues with wait times, rude personnel, poor quality etc. when our school started a relationship with Lands End, I couldn't order fast enough! With educational outfitters being local, I go occasionally for convenience...but not anymore! I had purchased a uniform skirt for my daughter 2 wks ago which was a little too small. It was brand new and unworn. I did make the mistake of removing the tag but had a receipt and they would not return stating that was "store policy." Unbelievable! The Gap returns without a tag! Well, thankfully, Educational Outfitters no longer holds a monopoly on the uniform business. I will only buy from Lands End from now on. Beware! read more

I called before embarking on a 20-minute drive to Cary and waited through a message with their hours and location until I got to the queue for assistance Then it played another message with the same information. I drove the 20-minutes and it was a wasted trip. A salesman tried to be helpful but every time he asked the owner a question, she gave him a hard time instead of a helpful answer. Frustrated with website ordering. Gym sweat pants were back ordered and got the rest of my order with no note saying they were on back order, even though I was charged for them. That was back in January, when my husband called they were rude and said someone had called and talked to me, which was not true. Now, finally they looked around the store and found the pants had been there since Feb 9th. So probably my son will have his extra pair of long pants around the time the weather warms up enough for him to wear shorts. Not good service, especially when you're paying $35 for a pair of sweat pants. UPDATE: The company responded to my complaint and mailed the pants right away, and they even comped the price so I wasn't charged for them. They also gave me a discount for my next order in hopes that I would give them another chance. They apologized for their mistake and tried to make it right. I was wrong about their customer service standards and admit it. They aim to please so give them a try. read more

I was really nervous about coming here after I read some of the reviews but I needed school uniforms right away so I didn't have time to try the online options that were recommended by friends. Yes, the place is busy and hectic - of course because it was the Saturday before schools start. But even with the chaos, the staff was very helpful. Even sAid they would stay open late to make sure everyone was able to get their logos on their uniforms. Shirts were ready by 6pm-just like they said. That's pretty good service! read more

I've contacted the store by phone and email and they are unable too provide a status and seem bothered I'm asking. Complete lack of respect for their customers. The unprofessionalism displayed here is astonishing. They don't have any inventory, and the service is terrible. Ownership obviously has no clue how to run a proper business. I ordered four polo shirts on August 9 for my sons upcoming school year at Unity Classical. We were given the option to have items shipped to the school or pay for shipping to residence I paid for shipping . School began August 27 - no shirts - no communication from Education Outfitters. On September 5 th I was contacted by my sons school that they had 2 polos shipped . Again - I paid for shipment to MY address . I called Educational Outfitters about the mix up and also inquiring about the additional polos that were not received . I spoke to Jennifer . She assured me that the additional polos were on back order ( was never told that prior ) and gave me the option to have shipment refunded or to send shirts to my address . I told her to avoid the confusion ( schools have to unpack , sort , distribute ) which I knew would be time consuming and delay him receiving his shirts even more I told her to ship to my address . It is now Sept 24 , all most October and I have yet to recieve polos when I call I always talk to Jennifer - Jennifer has told me that the shipment was sent to the SCHOOL signed for , and I would need to contact them about my order I reminded her that my order was not suppose to shipped to the school since it's going on 2 months I simply asked for a refund to include polos I never recieved and shipping . Jennifer has refused to refund my money. She says the only thing she can refund is shipping at this time . This company is very unorganized and the customer service is awful . I was never updated with information , tracking or if my items were on back order . This is the first year our charter school has used this company and because of the SCHOOLS bad experience they have cut business ties . I am very upset - all parents that have students that require uniforms should understand my anger . Per Jennifer they have to " investigate " to see who signed for the shipment at the school before anything can be done . As a customer that is not my problem !! I paid for shipping to my house and the order should not have been included with the bulk order sent to the school I know my rant is long but please do not do business with this company . Last year we went with Land Ends for uniforms , yes they are more expensive and we thought supporting small BUSINESSES would be the right choice . Never again !!!! read more

They don't have what we need in stock. Placing orders takes too long. Shipping takes way too long. Embroidery is very well done, but you guessed it. . . takes way too long. There aren't enough workers or ways to check out. Kids movie area is a plus, BUT they only created that because the process takes WAY TOO LONG! Their automated calling system wrongly told me our things were ready and I moved the MOON to get there before they closed (live 40 min away to boot) and a little girl asked if I could come back tomorrow. Um, no =) I can't. IDEA: each employee should pair up w/clients until they are ready to check out, then use a tablet w/Square right there for payment. BAM! Happiness. read more

A lot of the private or charter schools in the Triangle area require purchase from this store. Usually the cost is the price of the item plus $5 for the embroidered school logo. I would recommend coming in early so that you don't have to wait for hours for your clothing item to be ready- this store services multiple schools and so service can be pretty slow. The closer it gets to schools' start date, the longer it will take. How it works is you go in and pick the appropriate clothing items you need (polo shirts, skirts, fleece jackets, etc) then you purchase it at the register. Then you or the cashier will walk you to the embroidery station to give you an approximate time of when your items will be ready. IF you drove from afar (Goldsboro for example) and don't want to wait around in the area for hours, you can have the items shipped to you when they are ready- but you do have to pay for shipping. read more

PLEASE DONT GO HERE !! IF YOURE ALLERGIC TO PETS THIS STORE WILL TRIGGER YOUR ALLERGIES. My daughter is in a charter school and we're required to purchase a uniform shirt with a logo and plaid skirt from this store. Upon arrival we were immediately met with a foul pet and mold odor , everything was extremely disorganized and there were even piles of clothes on the floor. After 20 minutes of not seeing any sales associates I go to the register waiting to place an order and I hear a DOG behind the register growling , My children and I have terrible pet allergies and being exposed to an animal in a children's uniform store is extremely dangerous for guests and unprofessional especially when the facility is filthy to begin with. 0 stars if possible for putting my family at risk. read more

ZERO STARS needed for this company. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL; DISORGANIZED; EXTREMELY BAD SERVICE; RUDE MANAGER AND EMPLOYEES!! This is our second year of having no other choice but to deal with them, as they are the only vendors for our school. Our experience has been similar both years. Currently, I have been waiting 6 weeks for 3 shirts. Each time I call, no one can find my order. After MUCH persistence, and reciting back the order detail, the employee typically sighs heavily, lays the phone on the counter and I hear shuffling of paper and rattling of boxes. Up until today, I have then been told that the shirts had not arrived and I will be contacted when they arrive. Today, was my fourth call for the same shirts. Again, initially, I was told "no such order." I asked to speak with the "gentleman" whom I had spoken to, on my previous call. When he got on the phone, he said he had located the order but asked if I wanted to place the order. As I had placed and confirmed and reconfirmed the order (3 previous calls), I was confused. So I asked if the order had ever been placed. He would not answer the question. His response was "DO YOU WANT TO PLACE AN ORDER?" His tone was abrasive and rude. I explained that I had previously given them my credit card number and needed to know if the order was ever placed or if my credit card was charged. Again, his response was "DO YOU WANT TO PLACE THE ORDER?" I explained that since the order had be confirmed 3 previous times, and he just read it to me, I was trying to understand if it had been ordered or charged. I did not want to end up with extra shirts or be charged twice. His response was "I AM ASKING YOU, DO YOU WANT TO PLACE AN ORDER? IF YOU DON'T, I AM NOT SPEAKING TO YOU." He then HUNG UP ON ME. I called back and the same man answered. I just immediately asked to speak to the manager and he said he was the manager. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I was able to get the owner's name. If the situation does not improve, my next call will be to the school. At that point, if there is no other vendor option, our next option will be a shirt without a school logo. WORST SERVICE EVER EXPERIENCED!!!!!!!!!! read more

Get ready for a less than stellar experience. Consistently out of stock for pretty much everyone you want. Most often even when in stock you can not get two garments of the same brand or style. No one is ever able/willing to assist you even when you ask for help. Save yourself the hassle and shop Lands End or some other online uniform supplier, at least you're better assured of adequate stock levels. read more

I have been going here for several years to buy my children's school uniforms. Each year, I think it can't get worse; however, this year it was my worst experience yet. The front desk had a young man who was not polite, nor helpful. I asked him if the skirt I had was the right type of plaid was right for my daughter school, and he said yes without even checking the uniform book. Then, when I went to try it on, I was told by another sales person that wasn't the right type. Luckily, I hadn't purchased anything yet. When I found my daughter's uniform, they didn't have her size in either type of skort available . The sales person tried telling me that everyone wears jumpers or skirts, so it doesn't matter that there are no skorts in her size. That may be true, but it is part of the approved uniform by the school. The store was also out of stock on hoodies for both my son and daughter. Although it isn't cold out, the school runs the air conditioner on high, so most of the kids bring them to school all year. The front desk person wasn't sure when they were getting more in and didn't offer me any options on ordering them. Our school recently added lands end as an extra uniform option, and I will be turning to them for the remainder of my orders. read more

Unfortunately Educational Outfitters has a monopoly on the uniform market in Cary. It is a dusty and dirty store that always has a long checkout line. I see large diamonds on the owner and with the prices paid for polos, skirts, pants, fleeces etc one would think they could run a more efficient and customer friendly operation. This store is THE worst store I've shopped at in decades. The customer service is deplorable. The store is dark and dingy. There are no prices on anything in the store and when you can get someone to tell you the price it is exorbitant Unfortunately, this store is the only place I can get PE uniforms (thank goodness we can order everyday uniforms from Lands End). I have been trying to buy sweatshirts for my kids for over 3 weeks. After a visit to the store, I had to leave because the girl behind the counter started helping me then got distracted and started helping someone else and never came back to help me, 4 phone calls later no one called me back to verify my order. I called to give my credit card and place the order, 3 weeks later 1 sweatshirt was still not ordered. After several days I called to check to see if my order was in and I was on hold for almost 35 minutes and still no sweatshirts . It is outrageous that a store like this can still be in business. It should not be this hard and is just all wrong. read more

My wife ordered my son's uniforms online during the summer. We received part of the order and we were told the rest was on back order. My wife called and asked why she was charged for uniforms we did not receive. The clerk said the pants were in stock and would be shipped on Monday. We made the one hour drive to the store on Saturday. The pants were not in stock. The owner, "Molly" said sorry we will have them shipped as soon as we get them; free of charge. Educational Outfitters came to my son's school to take orders. I placed an order, and gave them my credit card number. Two weeks later, I received a call from a clerk to confirm my credit card number. She said the order was being shipped right out. "You don't get charged until the order is ready to be shipped" 10 days later my wife called the store. She was told the shirts were on back order. This is a reoccurring problem and is not acceptable. read more

My experience has not been a good one. I'm still waiting for uniforms, which were ordered before school started. I was told they would mail them to the school, which I asked them to do, it never happened. A parent actually went to the facility and picked up several for our school. My order was given to that parent incomplete and without the embroidery on the pants. We are still waiting for a shirt and pair of pants. Not the best customer service. Each time I'm told it'll take about 4 days. Well 4 days turn into weeks and never. When trying to call to get a live person, that's a 5% chance. The people are very nice, but definitely need help and organization. Its my understanding our school requires us to use this facility. I plan to give my feedback to the school. Too hard to get what's needed. Not to mention the reason I ordered more, was to keep from having so much wear and tear and want them to last as long as they can(for my son and I give them away to other family's to use the next year). Washing pants everyday will wear them out. Plus I paid for items I don't have. read more

This is my first year dealing with school uniforms and I have to say I am less than impressed with Educational Outfitters. The website doesn't match the book they have in the store. The information the school gave us doesn't match what the store has. The first time I went, I stood in line for over an hour to check out. The second time I went, I was told I could wait an hour for the logo to be embroidered on the shirt or I could come back in a week. It has been over a week now and I haven't received a call that it's ready so I decided to call them before I take time off work to go to the store. The phone rang for 3 minutes and nobody answered nor did a recording come on. I have heard complaints from fellow parents in our school and heard complaints from other customers while standing in line (you hear a lot standing in line for an hour). We have been shopping here for 7 years. Customer service has been spotty over the years, with long waits for embroidery and at the check out. On July 11th, I ordered shorts for my 9 year old son from their website. He ended his school year 5 weeks prior to the order wearing size 10 and 12 shorts. It was only natural that I order new shorts in a size 14. This past Sunday evening, we tried on his new size 14 shorts to discover that they were too tight. I used a pair of 10 and 12 shorts to compare the new shorts and found that the new shorts were barely bigger than the 10 and the same size as the 12. Since this was the evening before school started, I was very frustrated. They have an issue with consistency in sizing of pants and shorts which makes online ordering very difficult. We made a special trip to Cary from our home in Rolesville on Monday morning to exchange the shorts. I ordered online to avoid this trip as it is very inconvenient for our family to drive to the store. I was very frustrated when I arrived at the store but the manager Lindsay did a great job of providing me with great customer service. She was able to find us a pair of size 14 shorts in a different manufacturer that was the correct fit. She ordered 2 pair of the correct size in that manufacturer to ship to us at no cost. She also comped us another pair of size 14's that measured a bit bigger than the ones we returned. While I do think that they should work on improving consistency among their pants/shorts sizes, I was very impressed with the customer service that we received. Lindsay was professional, pleasant, and helpful. I am confident that with Lindsay as the store manager, Educational Outfitters can continue to improve their service to their customers. read more
