There may be a Duluth in Minnesota and one which is a suburb of Atlanta, but this is unmistakably a street in a popular area in Montreal.

Yes, this is the one. Along St.-Denis and north of Sherbrooke, Eduardo is just a few doors down a side street. I forgot how I found it. Since I liked it, how did I forget to review it? The easy answer is that everything went so smoothly and "according to plan" that I stumbled out onto the street (from being full, not from drinking) afterwards and forgot about Eduardo on Duluth. Eduardo is a shoe-in for 4 stars: The food worked out to be about 4 stars, with the pasta a little higher than 4 stars, but the soup not as exciting. However, very few soups enthuse me. The service was cordial and efficient. That gets 4 stars. The amount on the check was fair. That also gets 4 stars. The restaurant was clean, although on the dimmer side, and conveniently located. That nudges 4 stars. If you are in close proximity to the important corners of Sherbrooke and St.-Denis or Sherbrooke and Berri in Montreal, give Eduardo some strong consideration for a casual, decently priced, and hearty Italian meal. The name is kind of interesting. You can probably deduce that Eduardo means Edward. However, in Italian, it would be Edoardo, which more closely resembles the French version, Edoard. Their rendition of it is the Spanish and Portuguese variant, which differs but is possibly easier for a broader audience to grasp ... and doesn't affect how enjoyable the meal can be. For that matter, I knew a second generation Hispanic person in California who, out of nowhere, named his newborn Carlos when, that far into being Americanized, the kid could have been Chuck. Like I said, their naming convention caught my attention, so just ignore this last paragraph.

Had a family dinner there and we all liked our meal. We bring our own wine which was great. Decent price and decent quantity. Good customer service. I enjoyed my meal :) Would come back ~

What a wonderful BYOB, I went for a friend's birthday and had a wonderful time! They were great accommodating such a larger group (12 people)! The service was on point, there was always a waiter nearby, and the food service was well coordinated: appetizers we're delivered to the whole table at the same time, as were the mains, no small feat for such a large group! Food was good, I fund my lab extremely flavourful, and falling off the bone, although a touch oversalted. My partner very much enjoyed their veal with mushrooms. We both got the side of pasta which was tasty, but not overly alfredo-ey. We also had a starter of snails in mushrooms (not pictured) which was a lovely starter. Overall, a great, affordable, byob! Great place to go for dinner with friends!

One of the most reasonably priced Italian restaurants I've been to in Montreal. Eduardo's serves unapologetic, hearty, and hefty Italian cuisine at extremely reasonable prices. I LOVE this place, not so much for the food, but for the great times I've had with my friends coming here over the past few years. The fact that you can bring your own wine, which they will cork for free for your table, makes this place a drunken, feel great, good eats kind of place with very friendly service - and there's this invitingly cozy charm here that can't be explained unless you've eaten here..seriously! My friends and I recently ate here and had one hell of great meal: cold antipasti salad to start (awesome-see pics) $8.95C, Lasagna $9.95C (huge portion and delicious), and Veal Picatta served with a side of Fettuccini Alfredo $12.95C (very good quality and value). We were pleasantly stuffed while we sat and watched the blizzard outside as we leisurely downed 2 bottles of wine...good times! Although, I didn't have it this visit, Eduardo's makes one of the best minestrone soups that I highly recommend - and at $4.95C you get huge bowl of it! Look, you're not going to find any award wining dishes here, but Eduardo's is not about that. Eduardo's, for me, is about the unreplicated experience it provides, that you must check out for yourself. For that, Eduardo's gets 5 stars!

One of the things I love about Eduardo's is the fact that it's very lively, people love it because it's a good BYOW and cheap eat. I discovered this place about 2 years ago and I've been a fan ever since. My go to meal is the veal milanese with the yummy lemon sauce on top. You have a choice of vegetables or pasta I always take the creamy white pasta it's delicious and goes really good together. Bruschetta is really good as well sometimes it's on a toasty croutons but mostly it's served on 4 fresh slices of bread. Under neath is the best part they lay it on top of a creamy oily salad. YUM! I've always had my food arrive on time and friendly staff and never had a bad meal here. For those who are skeptical about going and don't know what to get I would suggest my meal or a simple pasta and you can't go wrong.

Food was very well priced and hearty. I really enjoyed the complimentary bread that was provided - it was rosemary flavored and served nice and warm, which is something I appreciate (I hate cold bread). The calamari was a bit on the dry side but still good. The pasta I ordered (linguini with clams and tomato sauce) was flavorful and I enjoyed it. We were able to bring our own wine and was not charged a corkage fee. This must be a big selling point for this restaurant as every table in there had at least two bottles of self-brought wine! Don't come here expecting a super fancy dinner because that's not the point here. It's a small, cozy Italian restaurant with hearty dishes at very very moderate prices. Service is very friendly and people come here to chat over bottles after bottles of wine.

Excellent vinaigrette salad topped with blue cheese. Show stopper!!!

Let me first start by saying the food at Eduardo's is a very solid four stars maybe slightly higher, so why the three, unfortunately the service was 2.0 stars and sporadic. My waitress was new at waitressing which normally wouldn't be a problem for me. Both she another waitress, however; were in wrapped conversation the entire time I was there to the inclusion of keeping an eye on their tables. The table behind me tried to catch her eye for a solid 10 minutes before finally securing her attention and receiving their check. There were only five tables that evening so there was no excuse for the general lack of oversight and customer service. This was my second time dining there and as I previously stated the food is very very good. The salad and dressing was superb and my Osso Bucco Milanese with fresh made fettuccine was phenomenal very tender, juicy and flavorful. I would have considered dessert but the experience was considerably dulled buy poor service and the thought of any further delay. I still would return in the future because Eduardo does an extremely good job and has more than demonstrated his prowess in the kitchen. I met him the first time I was there and when I return if things have not changed in the front of the house, I will ask to meet him once again!

Stumble to this small little Italian restaurant on a Thursday afternoon. Very cozy atmosphere with good Italian food. The menu is in Italian and the waitress speak Mainly French. Trying to order your dinner with the menu in Italian only can be difficult. Thanx to Apple phone we manage to order our dinner. The spaghetti sauce was excellent. If you are in the mood for some Italian in Montreal, stop by.

This place is always crowded and full-house because space is limited. Extremely noisy, dim, and poorly ventilated. We went to this place just because the other Italian restaurant, also BYOW, did not take reservation on weekends and required an hour of waiting when it was already 8:45pm. Food was ok, nothing extraordinary. After trying some entrees, pasta main course, and scalloppini, we know that next time we will skip the garlic bread gratiné and parma ham with honeydew wedges.

Seafood linguini, there were well over 15 pieces of scallops on this dish!
    Victoria X.

Homestyle Italian comfort restaurant set amongst the densely populated BYOW restaurants on Duluth street. BYOW restaurants usually fall a bit short on the food side for me, but not this place. They start you off with some homemade herb spiced warm bread that just warms the soul and opens the appetite. The menu consists mainly of pasta and veal dishes. My partner had the seafood linguini in rose sauce. So much seafood, it was almost at a 1:1 ratio with the pasta! I had the lamb shank special of the day. It was a simply delicious portion of braised lamb seasoned with rosemary and orange peel. Super generous portions, one main is definitely enough. You won't find very innovative flavours or creative dishes here, but if you're in the mood for some good classic Italian, this place is definitely worth the visit!

Food: 3/5 Service: 3/5 Location: 4/5 Eduardo Duluth is a cute little Italian restaurant located near the bustling student areas of Montreal. It is a small and slightly cramped place, but it adds to it's hole-in-the-wall charm. The dim lighting and the sprawling ivy décor make for a very European feel. The wait staff were friendly and helpful, even though it was a very hectic Saturday night. Be aware that they didn't take reservations and they will ONLY seat you when every member of your party is there. I was intrigued by the restaurant's BYOB concept, which I've heard is common in Montreal but I have not really come across in Toronto. With an SAQ right across the street, it felt great to know we could bring our own cheap wine to pair with dinner without spending an arm and a leg paying a premium per glass. Bottom line BYOB is a blessing for a fun, boozy dinner and a great night. Despite the ambiance and abundantly flowing booze, the food didn't really blow me away. I ordered the meat tortellini with rose sauce and I found it just average. The flavours felt like something I could recreate from a jar. But for the price, I definitely can't complain. The huge portion of tortellini was only $12 and I'm never one to complain when somebody sets down a massive plate of cheesy carbs in front of me. Overall I would recommend coming here if you're just looking for an affordable and lively night (DON'T FORGET TO BRING THE WINE). Just don't expect their pasta to be anything fancy.

Dry (yes, it can happen even when braised and sauce is poured onto it) and fatty lamb shank with way over cooked pasta.
    Anh N.

I really don't know why this place has such good reviews. Granted, it is byob and CHEAP but what a waste of money anyways! Our pastas were so over cooked that it was starting to become like a paste and my lamb was dry, very fatty at the same time. The bread was dry and stale. The parmesan that was on the table was the "fake" one. You know, the like the Kraft one in a green shaker. My husband's sauce had banana bell peppers in it. It was weird. I barely touched anything and basically got drunk on a 25$ bottle. Are you asking yourself why I had a 25$ bottle of wine?? Well, it's because the couple we went with said that this place was SUPER GOOD! I regret it. But at least my wine was delicious lol! The extra star is for the waitress. She was really sweet!

Restaurants in Montreal with the name of an Italian region - 2 of 2…read more I had seen Restaurant Siciliana before. It is on Rue Stanley, not too far away from the Peel Metro Station. Rue Stanley always makes for a chuckle. I have known very few people with that name. However, it's the eponymous name of a (not even) B movie about someone's dangerous pet snake. I looked at the menu board at around lunch time. It seemed like a generic Italian restaurant, with a broad-based Italian menu and not one that was particularly Sicilian. But this was at lunch time, and I was walking down the street with something to do. I returned for dinner another day. Everything at Restaurant Siciliana was sort of perfunctory and ordinary. The interior is old school and has the red and white check tablecloths. The wood fired pizza oven is visible from the restaurant. They seat you quickly and I wanted to sit closer to the back and next to a wall, to which they obliged. Since I could not find a wall outlet, they were willing to charge my phone for me. I did not want a pizza. For that, I might go to dei Compari, which I very much like. I was looking for pasta. Since I couldn't see what it might look like or what others had ordered, I settled on the trio - three types of pasta. I've seen this done before at other Italian eateries and, within reason, they allow substitutions. Here, the wiggle room is not that much (that means no filled pasta or lasagna/e) and there is an upcharge for the allowed changes. I wanted to swap out a pasta with Alfredo sauce and they did so for another pasta that is also on their menu at the same price, but with a $3 upcharge (for U.S., divide by ~1.36). Is that that much of an inconvenience? Everything was ok - one in a Bolognese sauce, one in a rose' sauce, and one in a pesto sauce - except that the pesto sauce was a little oily and didn't sit with me. To drink, I had a ginger ale. I'm beginning to like that stuff. The service was good. It was also expedient, albeit a little reserved. This was a 3-star event and, going forward, I will continue to look for other Italian (and Sicilian) restaurants in the area. I would love to know of an authentic Sicilian restaurant in the agglomeration that is Montreal. The very first Italian restaurant at which I ate in Montreal was just up the street, at Stanely and Maisonneuve. Either a Chapters or a newer building went in. That restaurant was more of a diner, which explains why it wouldn't be there - close to the financial district - anymore. Change can be hard to accept. I remember that that was also the first time I had heard the term rose' sauce. This is what Eastern Canada refers to a pink tomato-cream sauce. The middle-aged dark-haired woman who helped me had to have been from the western part of Montreal or its island, spoke perfect English with mannerisms suitable for an Italian neighborhood the Northeastern U.S., and looked like Kaye Ballard. I would have preferred a restaurant like that to this one for the price-quality rapport of the food and a Rue Stanley/Financial District location. If you are a tourist and your time is metered, I might skip this one. If you are a local, you can try Restaurant Siciliana for pizzas and/or pasta and see if it suits you.

Inside this little place there are maybe a dozen tables ... mostly for two. The place was casual, unpretentious, and relatively inexpensive. Service was friendly and spot on. Now the owner who drew us in - whatever his name - does it all here. He seated us, we saw him clean off some tables, and he goes back and forth in the kitchen personally making each dish. He had only two helpers ... one doing dishes and the other helping wait the tables especially when he was fixing a plate. The meals are essentially light pasta with light sauces ... nothing much heavy here. It is meant to be a quick lunch spot, and only stays open a while after hours. The menu - posted in the front window - is written on a sheet of paper and usually is about 8 different pastas and sauces; after you sit at a table you will find that the current list is generally smaller as they have run out of stuff during the day. Be that as it may, it was pretty good food. We had the Canelloni Rossini (4 stars with a light red sauce), Penne Arrabbiata (4 stars with another very light sauce), and a Calypso Salad (4 stars with very nice greens). The big takeaway was that he can make any kind of quick pasta and put any one of his light sauces on it for a quick meal. The sauces were nice - very light but nice. The pastas could have been a bit fresher. Interestingly, they only take cash - and that is not mentioned on the front window. He does have an ATM machine inside to help you cover the cash, but he should really announce this out front, especially for all the tourists that are in Montreal. Our bill came to $70 and he wrote down $80 ... maybe he included the tip for us - don't know, but pay attention to your bill on the way out. In fairness, the prices are reasonable here - $4.95 for a glass of the house Chianti, and every one of the pasta meals were simply $9.95. Canoli were $6.00 each.
