Very pleased with Ed's Tree Service. I made my appointment with Ed White around 4-5 weeks ago. While he had some emergency jobs that took priority over my tree removal and trim work, we were only delayed about a week. His 3 man crew arrived around 8:15 am and worked all day till 4:00 pm without leaving my property. I had one huge pin oak (10 feet in circumference 4 feet off the ground!) that required a lot of dead limb removal as well as excessive live limb removal. One of his workers climbed throughout the tree for about an hour and a half! Also crowned out a Bradford Pear tree and removed a dying Maple tree and a Red Bud tree. A lot of work for a fair price. All tree debris was chipped up and the yard was raked. I'm a happy camper and totally recommend Ed's Tree Service. read more

Several weeks ago, we had a tree uprooted during a major wind storm during the night which blocked the street and fell into a neighbor's yard. Ed came out quickly to give me a quote on the project, but was booked on another job and unable to get to our project as quickly as we needed. Excellent customer service, and quality work performed. They had a tight spot to take out a 4+ story tree between a power line and two houses on tiny Kirkwood lots. They were pretty thorough in their clean up. While not the lowest bid I received, they bid the job at a fair price for both parties - not gouging me, but still making a profit. They are also insured and although there wasn't a problem to trigger the need for insurance, I would never hire a contractor without appropriate insurance. So a higher bid for an insured contractor is worth the difference. They were on time, and there wasn't any of that nonsense about trying to get extra money after the job is done if their time wasn't what they estimated with the bid (not all contractors do that, but some do). They were super flexible with scheduling and went far above and beyond with the work and clean up. They even cleaned up a few other brush piles I had put aside to deal with later (without me asking) and did some maintenance on a separate tree that wasn't initially talked about. Great, fast service with reasonable prices. We had a tree that was in violation of city code, which says the branches have to be 15 feet off the ground. Just had them out today and could not be more pleased. They took down a dead huge oak, a large evergreen, 3 smaller trees, and trimmed up a large gum, 2 big pines and several other trees.
