This place is very nice! Their selection of wine is great and overall this is definitely great vibes!

A few weeks ago we visited Edona's Wine Not. We have visited every week since, sometimes twice! Edonas has made a place that is so welcoming and fun. Her wine selection is very wide on tastes and price point. Edona is a one women show. She does it all serving, stocking, and cleaning all at the same time. And she manages to keep your glass full. Visiting Edona's is like having wine with a friend.

Edona's is a small wine bar that just opened up a few weeks ago! Edona is the owner and she is wonderful, she knows her wine she's been in the game for a few years now. step inside and there's plenty of places to sit, whether you want to sit at the bar and chat with Edona or sit at one of the tables, or the couch, or one of her lovely date rooms! I got their $20 wine flight in which you can pick 4 wines off the menu. Edona recommended wines for me to try based off the questions she asked me and she did not disappoint! I got the moscato, two Rieslings, and a Roscato, my favorite was the moscato with its pear and apple notes it was very crisp and refreshing. On Wednesday's she has 10% off a bottle of wine! The space is very personal and very cute. She has wine on the walls and plenty of decor. Edona has made the place seem like it's been open for a while. Go and check the place out, I will definitely be back!

I don't know if the ownership has changed or if they just made some decisions to alter things, but either way it changes our opinion of the place. First and most important for us, they used to be the only place we were aware of in NC to get Gluten Free Crab Cakes which was a major reason we frequented Sammy G's. That has apparently changed and the new Gluten Free menu is basically just the meats menu which is a real shame. It looks like they have made some other small changes to the regular menu as well, none of those were all that concerning but the loss of this GF treat is a real blow for us. If you are a celiac and found reviews about the GF crab cakes, please be aware they appear to be gone now. Additionally, the prices across the menu seem to have gone up by a few dollars. When you consider that Sammy G's was never a cheap place to eat, and given the state of the economy these days, that actually does come out to a noticeable change and makes it harder to justify going. However, with the loss of the old GF options, it's unlikely we'll come back anywhere near as often as we used to.

Cool concept with a ton of bottles of wine to choose from. You buy the bottle and can have as much or as little as you want then take the rest home without a re-corking fee. People were bringing their little kids along with them to get their wine on before the race....yikes. The tasting room was nice as I said, large and full of wine to purchase and swag to buy. There were a number of different places in the tasting room (building), I think I counted five places you in different parts of the building you could taste wine. There is a bistro in a separate building, it seemed okay, we didn't get food. The wine was decent, but not stellar, so that is the four instead of five star from me. Worth a visit if you're heading up or down to Charlotte or just are in the area.

Prior to coming here, I had never heard of C'est si Bon at all. I didn't know there were places that offered private facilities to have cooking classes, or maybe I just never sought it out. At any event, this was all arranged by management. My colleagues and I came here to cook, and walked away gaining new skills in the kitchen. We were divided up in teams, to make different dishes. Each team were given an ingredient list and instructions, which were helpful. We were so grateful that this event didn't require making random dishes from a surprise ingredient, like a Gordon Ramsey show. Whew. Honestly we'd be doomed if that were the case. The instructors walked us through each teams worries. We had about 5 teams, each in charge of: rice, meat dish, pizza, dessert, salad and a side. We all learned different techniques and managed to finish on time. It was nice to feel accomplished and enjoy our creations after the hour or so of insecurity. Whats funny is that my colleagues act so so tough in corporate meetings, but for the ones who don't cook, it was fascinating to see them in a vulnerable cooking environment. For the ones who do cook, you got to see them be even more pompous than in the board room, ha! Overall, it was an excellent experience. The staff were absolutely wonderful, the venue was beautiful, it was a hidden tucked away farmhouse-ish place in Chapel Hill. It was probably pricey, our VP paid for it, but nevertheless worth every penny. Highly recommend to anyone wanting to go outside of their comfort zone, learn new skills and partake in some delicious food!

Finally this past summer he was able to attend one of the camps. After all that time and build up all I can say is... Meh. It's not really a cooking school for kids, but if you have 8 or 9 yos that need something to do and you want them to stir a bowl or pretend they are cooking for twice the price of other summer camps, then this will suffice. They don't provide any of the recipes to the kids to take home with them, individual kids only learn how to "cook" 1 of the 4 items they prepare each day. No actual cooking skills are taught. Head chef proved why chefs have a reputation for being unpleasant to deal with. I would not recommend. Since we were again not able to enroll our child last summer we hired a local chef to give a 4-day cooking class to our son at home, ended up being cheaper and he learned a whole lot more. Recipes, knife skills, prep work, flavor pairings... All the things that CSB are not.

There's an S-shaped bar along the right side as you walk in with a few smaller tables scattered to the left and ahead, but if you walk around the plantings, there are larger tables in the rear. We had reserved a place for eight, and they fit us in with plenty of room around as a buffer. Few other parties joined us back there, so it was very quiet and great for friends catching up. We tried several wines, but I was a bit shock ed that the list wasn't longer: three reds, three whites, a few rosés and sparkling offerings was all there were. The only Italian red was a blend, which was ok. 60% Sangiovese, it was ok, but I'd have loved a bold Tuscan red like a Montepulciano d'Abruzzo or a full-on Sangiovese. I ordered the wild mushroom flatbread and the pasta carbonara. the flatbread was delicious, and very filling. Half went home for a lunch treat the next day! The pasta was ok, but there weren't the flavors I was expecting. Hardly any meat was in the dish, and it was just a kinda "ok" creamy pasta dish. But the service and the atmosphere was amazing! It's funny - many in this group have met since and we always remark how other places have such a larger wine selection than this one that has "wine" in the name. Maybe they need to change the name if they aren't going to have a wider selection. Still a fun place, just done expect a lot of selection.
