Me and my family are on vacation here in the valley, and me and my aunt decided to get some…read morevegetarian sushi to try (she is vegetarian and fish & shellfish give me stomach aches), so we put in an order for pickup for some of the vegetable sushi rolls (and one futomaki roll, which has egg in it), as well as a teriyaki beef roll for me since I let my aunt have 7/8ths of the avocado & cucumber roll (I'm not a big fan of cucumbers but wanted to give the combo a try). The food was pretty good, and the futomaki ended up being the thing my aunt and me both went for the most. My aunt has never had sushi before, and she really liked it. I can't really think of anything bad to say about anything about it other than the wasabi our order came with seemed to be a bit heavy on horseradish filler and so was a bit harsh on the palate (I bought a tube I saw near the front of the restaurant they had for sale of prepared wasabi which had a much better balance & used it instead), and while the wait time for the order for pickup was a bit long (about 55 minutes), it was actually pretty understandable since there was almost a steady stream of other people popping in & out to grab the pickup orders they placed earlier, so the kitchen must have been pretty busy already by the time we got there. I'm already planning out the stuff I want to order/try next if I have the time this summer to order from here again, so I'd definitely recommend this place.

Just ok. We really wanted to love this place, but it was just average. We had a group of 8 and we…read moremade a reservation, but that was probably not necessary as the place was mostly empty. There was a table of screaming (no joke, screaming) kids on the other side of the restaurant, which wasn't a great start. Our service was good and prompt. The servers were friendly. Our group of 8 ordered a wide variety of items including sushi, tempura, sashimi, and ramen. The sushi was fine, nothing bad and nothing wow. The tempura was the problem area. Several people at the table ordered different tempura items (veggies, soft shelled crab, shrimp) and it was all slightly burned. Tempura shouldn't have dark brown edges and be chewy. I was definitely disappointed with all of the tempura. The pork gyoza were ok but with our hungry bunch, we still left tempura and gyoza on the plate. I know I'm from a big city and spoiled for Japanese options but I still think items shouldn't be burned dish after dish. I would revisit but I would only get sushi items. The wide variety of Japanese items available for purchase in the front of the store are great and I'd definitely purchase from that area.

I'd asked a buddy for a few Kelowna suggestions and Momo Sushi was one of them. I didn't realize…read morethat they had multiple locations (Bernard and Pandosy) so we went to their Westbank location. It's in the same plaza as the Landmark cinema. We dropped in for a late lunch (around 3:30pm). There was only one other couple eating in, the rest were takeout orders. Impressed with how many takeout orders they dished out while we were there. The menu is split into appetizers, tempura, soup/noodle, salad, grill/dishes, classic rolls, special rolls, sashimi, nigiri, dinner combinations and Momo tray combos. There was also a few special rolls, don katsu and chicken karaage. - Brussel sprouts ($5.25) - these were excellently fried but completely oversauced. I'd order it again but sauceless. - Niku gyoza ($6.50 for 6) - pan fried, homemade meat dumplings. These had a thin skin and were lightly fried. Standard. - Eskimo roll ($6.00 for 6) - crab, fried yam, cucumber, avocado, radish and smoked salmon. I wasn't a fan of the fried yam; not fresh nor crispy. Smoked salmon was a very small, thin portion. Crab was the best thing about these rolls. - Toro ($2.75), sake ($2.25), saba ($2.50), tamago ($2.00), unagi ($2.50) and hotate nigiri ($2.75) - the unagi and tamago were the best out of the 6 we tried. Toro, saba and hotate were okay. Sake (salmon) did not have a good texture or taste to it. Decent sushi but nothing really impressed us at Momo's Sushi.
