    Tonkatsu Ramen

Very tasty authentic ramen. I recommend the Tonkatsu Pork ramen. Service was quick and friendly. Next time in Kelowna, a return visit is a must!

First time going to this restaurant, was a professional business meeting over lunch. The restaurant wasn't busy, we placed our order. The server came back 15 minutes later and asked us what we ordered. They forgot our order. Our order took another 15 or 20 minutes to arrive. They offered no discount but instead three of their little appetizers as an apology. We didn't feel like our business was valued. Food was good, service was poor.

We walked in and within 5 minutes walked out. Terrible customer service and too cocky for my taste. Not accomdating for groups.

Wasabi was not accommodating to our family with kids tonight. The server was beyond annoyed that we suggested to put tables together to fit our family so we could stay together because according to her it was against the law to put tables together. Her anger escalated like a drop of a hat, and provided no real solutions but asked us to call the city to change the bylaws to allow ganging tables together if we were not happy. She also slammed chairs together to demonstrate her point. Yes, this all really happenend when we want to get seated! We understand there are rules but please also be kind and dont stress your guest over it. Very unprofessional. The city make rules to protect your guest not stopping you from serving them. You made our family feel very uncomfortable and we were there for only 5 minutes. We left feeling unwelcomed and honestly put at dent in our evening. Luckily there are plenty of options in Kelowna.

Really good ramen spot kind of off of the main strip in the area. Not far, just a couple of blocks. I noticed a crowd outside and decided that was a good sign. Not a lot of seating but good enough for groups and some seating at the sushi counter. Service was nice and polite. The food was delicious. Broth was tasty and not too salty. Homemade noodles which was very good. Appetizers were also good. Not expensive either. I will definitely visit when I'm back in the area.

I'm always skeptical with izakaya or sushi when I'm not having it in Vancouver, but this place was pretty good. Wasabi Izakaya is an authentic Japanese appetizer and ramen place. They specialize in freshly made ramen in house and of course their izakaya. I didn't get a chance to try their ramen, but ordered a bunch of their small dishes instead. Takoyaki - crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. Can't go wrong. Chicken Karage - juicy and tender on the inside and crispy on the outside. Not too oily or overly salty either. Black Cod - portion is a little small, but it's delicious Oshizushi (pressed sushi) - I felt there was too little fish and too much rice Eggplant - Quite tasty and a bit spicy as well as tangy Tako Wasa - Fresh and delicious Gomaae - I loved it. Boiled green beans with sesame miso dressing. Not too overcooked so still crunchy and so refreshing.

I rate this place a 4.5 I love this place! Service is so great. And food is yummy! The music they were playing at the time puts a smile on my face and reminds me of my fave Japanese ghibli movies. Everything tasted great. Most authentic ramen *in Kelowna* hands down.

Decided to come here for the ramen. I ordered the Tonkatsu Shoyu Ramen $10 with egg $1.75. My family members ordered their own ramen, udon and soba dishes. The broth is chicken based listed as umami flavour, which is translated as a pleasant savoury taste. We also added 3 Izakaya dishes: Okonomiyaki (cabbage pancake $7.50), Spicy Tuna & avocado tempura salad ($7.80) and Sea eel tempura ($9.50). All were amazing dishes that left my tongue dancing and my tummy full. We finished off the meal with banana tempura with green tea ice cream, which was delicious. Unfortunately they were out of Macarons to top the bananas. Still, this dessert was a wonderful way to close it off.

Had the Spicy Yuzu Pepper Ramen. It wasn't as spicy as Szechwan peppers, but it still has a slight numbing level of spice that I find delicious. Seems like a cool locals spot, albeit I was in Kelowna during the off season. Rad place, excellent food.

We were kind of rushing to our next destination Banff, so stopped by this place for quick lunch. Usually ramen places are so quick and you can finish eating within 30 min since you enter the restaurant. However, this place was so slow and it took about 30 min just to get our order. We kindly let our server know that we were kind of rushing but she just bluntly replied that it usually takes 20-30 min to get orders, which was ridiculous for a ramen place. And what really bothered me was that the other party who came after us got their order before us. Although the food itself wasn't bad at all, I think they really need to improve their efficiency and the service.

Yummy ramen from Wasabi in Kelowna This is the chicken karaage ramen that was on special - SO GOOD! They gave a really large portion of chicken, which was super yummy. The broth is delicious too - not too salty like most ramen places. Overall, I'm super pleased with this place!

We got the bill & they hadn't cleared the table...

I had lunch at Zen Sushi today and was pleasantly surprised. First, I know that I love sushi and…read morepretty much all other Asian cuisines. I know this about myself. And then I get sad when I eat pasta, chicken and fries and sandwiches for 3 days straight.... I just can't. So I was in desperate need of some medium grain rice when I headed into this place. I knew from the name that there was some Korean food options being served here. They have a bunch of Korean fried chicken options, but there are also Japanese foods like katsu on the menu that don't involve raw fish. I got the nigiri lunch special. For $21 in the heart of downtown Kelowna, I thought it was a fair price. The lunch special comes with 4 pieces of nigiri, a shrimp tempura/California roll, a few pieces of tempura, deep fried spring rolls, miso soup and a small salad. The salad dressing was good, but the leaves were a little old. Other than that, everything else was great. The tempura was so crispy and the roll was pretty good. The fish quality probably could have been better, but honestly this is middle America and I've had a lot worse. The service was sooooo nice. Everyone I've met in restaurants in Kelowna have been so nice and this was no exception. I loved that my water had a little slice of lemon in it and that they checked on me without being irritating. The food came out fast and I easily paid when I was ready to go. The inside has quite a few tables and nice heavy chairs that remind me of old, fancy Chinese restaurants. They even have an outside eating area. There are some other sushi spots along Bernard street, but this one was the closest to the waterfront. I enjoyed my experience here and would come back if I had the opportunity.

Highly recommend their mango dragon and ogopogo which I think are the most popular here anyway. All the rolls were great. Good rice to filling ratio and lots of fresh flavours. We also got the snow onion fried chicken. Very very nicely fried chicken. Love the crispy and thin batter. The chicken is still juicy too! Service here is also fantastic. Really friendly and always checking in on you to make sure everything's great, without interrupting your meal. Just a great place to go with friends wether for a nice catch up or a quick meal.
