This is a good little spot to get some delicious eats. Family shop with caring service. Great selection of food, some unique items. Excellent value. Enjoyed the Yama Vento Box and it was much bigger than expected. Choose from a few items for 4 of 5 sections, also included miso soup. Yum

Philadelphia roll, crazy roll (deep fried Cali roll) and yam roll.

Their specialty rolls are the most delicious rolls I've eaten and most people might only need one roll to fill them up.

If you come here you should get their karaage chicken ramen or the death by chicken karaage. The…read moredeath by chicken karaage has a nice flavor kick to it. It is not spicy at all. The chicken was nice and crispy. The noodle was tasty. Do not order the Ebi Wonton ramen. I went back the second time and got that and I was disappointed. It reminded me of Chinese Wonton soup. Note that their chicken and pork chashu is not made using the authentic way. They do not use pork belly for the chashu. It is not the one you typically get at ramen from bigger cities or Japan. The chicken is basically regular seasoned chicken breast and the chashu is basically pork shoulder. The one I am used to is where they take the pork belly, season it and then roll it up. It is not the case here. The noodle was tasty but not wow and you can tell that it was freshly made in house. Broth was ok. But hey this is the only ramen place in Kelowna (2023) at the moment. Inside is ran by Japanese people. Chicken Karaage ramen 3.5 stars Ebi Wonton Ramen 1.5 stars Death by Chicken Karaage 4 stars. I am giving this place 4 stars because it is located in Kelowna. If this restaurant was located down in the coast (Vancouver) or any big city than I would give it 2 stars. Also I do find that the quality of food was not very consistent. I went back the second time and it was not as good as the first time. Service was ok. Note that Parking is free after 6 pm.

We were greeted immediately and sat at a table at the end of the restaurant. We ordered Chicken Karaage and Gyoza to start. The karaage was excellent. My wife who doesn't usually like fried stuff thoroughly enjoyed it. They also have a spicy version which I think I will try next time. The Gyoza was a bit meh. For ramen we ordered 2 Original's and 1 Tan Tan Men. The Tan Tan Men was excellent - broth was flavourful and enough spiciness that you get a kick but without overpowering everything overall. The Original wasn't that good - broth wasn't as flavourful. The noodles also were the straight thin kind which is not our favourite. We also had 1 order of extra noodle on the side which was quite a good portion. Service was good and washroom's were clean. For one of the top Ramen places in Kelowna we were underwhelmed.

I had lunch at Zen Sushi today and was pleasantly surprised. First, I know that I love sushi and…read morepretty much all other Asian cuisines. I know this about myself. And then I get sad when I eat pasta, chicken and fries and sandwiches for 3 days straight.... I just can't. So I was in desperate need of some medium grain rice when I headed into this place. I knew from the name that there was some Korean food options being served here. They have a bunch of Korean fried chicken options, but there are also Japanese foods like katsu on the menu that don't involve raw fish. I got the nigiri lunch special. For $21 in the heart of downtown Kelowna, I thought it was a fair price. The lunch special comes with 4 pieces of nigiri, a shrimp tempura/California roll, a few pieces of tempura, deep fried spring rolls, miso soup and a small salad. The salad dressing was good, but the leaves were a little old. Other than that, everything else was great. The tempura was so crispy and the roll was pretty good. The fish quality probably could have been better, but honestly this is middle America and I've had a lot worse. The service was sooooo nice. Everyone I've met in restaurants in Kelowna have been so nice and this was no exception. I loved that my water had a little slice of lemon in it and that they checked on me without being irritating. The food came out fast and I easily paid when I was ready to go. The inside has quite a few tables and nice heavy chairs that remind me of old, fancy Chinese restaurants. They even have an outside eating area. There are some other sushi spots along Bernard street, but this one was the closest to the waterfront. I enjoyed my experience here and would come back if I had the opportunity.

Highly recommend their mango dragon and ogopogo which I think are the most popular here anyway. All the rolls were great. Good rice to filling ratio and lots of fresh flavours. We also got the snow onion fried chicken. Very very nicely fried chicken. Love the crispy and thin batter. The chicken is still juicy too! Service here is also fantastic. Really friendly and always checking in on you to make sure everything's great, without interrupting your meal. Just a great place to go with friends wether for a nice catch up or a quick meal. Be back soon!!
