We interacted first via zoom call for virtual consult and later I went in for an in-person free consult. He performed thorough testing and was able to schedule me for the same week, which was perfect for my schedule. Overall surgery lasted about 10-15mins but I was at the office in Renton for about 2-3 hours for repeat testing on eyes to make sure they were stable. No issues in surgery and post surgery, while waiting for my spouse was offered more numbing drops. Glad the office was looking out for my well being. Followed up next day with another doctor and was out of the office within 10 mins for a 3-week follow-up. Haven't had any issues so far and got great results. What stood out for me was the last thing Dr. King said, which no doctor has ever said, "Thank you for your trust." Any surgery is stressful to think about, but it's great to see a doctor that values the patient and is meticulous about his work.

Dr Patel does fantastic work he is great at communicating, has a wonderful bedside manner and an amazing team of support staff. I was so impressed with the operation aspect of the business, the entire staff is friendly, communicative, professional and values your time, investment and confidentiality.

But go ahead, ask your question." As if I was offending him by having concerns. As if by asking questions I was somehow challenging his expertise, rather than acknowledging it. As if this wasn't exactly the right time and place to ask questions. A bit shocked by his dismissive comment, i initially thought I should simply leave and find a different doctor. Then I thought about the weeks I had to wait just to get this appointment, and starting that process all over again, and I swallowed my pride and simply responded, "No, never-mind." But I also knew then that I would eventually write a review in which I told prospective patients this story, in case anyone preferred not to be disregarded in this way. To be fair, I am pleased with the results of my surgery. I had researched Dr Patel and never doubted his skills. But I was offended by his manner at that initial consult and believe that patients deserve to be treated better.

It was poorly communicated and I thought it was poor communication between my wife and I as far as after care goes for our daughter. We took my daughter to the follow up and I've never had any eye issues in my entire life so I don't know anything about eye conditions so I had a few questions during the appointment. She, the optometrist, was super nice but seemed very rushed and answered as quickly (and vaguely) as she could. I was ultimately trying to get an explanation on what's wrong with my daughter's eyes. After the third time of asking the same question, she answered but still sugarcoating it for some reason. I'm not a child, tell me the truth and be straightforward! You're not doing me any favors by telling me simply "there's a SLIGHT change." So in the end, her prescription changed and we have to pay for new lenses which I thought was what I was paying for cuz that's what we were talking about right before I agreed and handed them my card. They call me back a few days later and say it's not covered so I'll have to pay the full amount. Then I ask what the difference is and they say no, you haven't paid anything yet. ???????? Apparently that charge was just for the visit and that's somewhat abnormally high for a copay ($65) and so I call them back and ask if none of the visit was covered or if that's the actual copay. I was told the she had to ask the manager then she never called me back and somehow not picking up my calls at all. Such a money grab. I don't know what they're doing there but they need to be re-trained on how to care about clients and understanding patients/parents. I wouldn't expect someone to go into a fancy restaurant and know how to pronounce the bougie names or even know what they are if they've been accustomed to steakhouses. Definitely not going back. How do you not know what you charged me for? I trusted you without questioning anything and now that I have the wherewithal to ask, you don't even know?? TLDR; they don't care to explain anything except the options available for taking your money. Unacceptable. 1 star only cuz I can't pick ZERO stars.

From there, they brought us, my husband came with as my driver, to recheck my eyes. We then went into a room where my eyesight was checked again by a doctor and finally by Dr. King who did my surgery. He was very personable and made me feel like I was an actual person not just a number. They offered a sedative but I declined and we then went to the surgery area. While I waited my turn, I relaxed in a massage chair which was a very nice touch. Once in the OR, the procedure took maybe 10 minutes and they talked me through the entire process. They asked me questions about myself which helped take my mind off of everything going on. After a quick recheck to make sure everything went well, I was on my way with my instructions, new night goggles and a bag of coffee. It was also a great comfort that, during the entire process, my eyes were checked several times by different doctors to make sure everything was correct. That night, I got a text from Dr. King checking in and I was very impressed by that. I never expected that! I was back the next morning for a recheck and was in and out in 20 minutes. There is a lot to commend about King LASIK but the top two things are the people and the facility. I don't think I could have asked for nicer and more confident staff, from the front desk gal to the doctors. The facility was also super clean! Very modern and comfortable as well. She was quite kind and informed me of what to expect from each procedure. After a 20 minute wait, Dr Do performed some tests and examination and explained some of the results to me. They said another test was needed. But it could not be completed today. I asked if it was because my eyes had been dilated. Dr. Do said no the person who does that test doesn't work on Tuesdays. I expressed my frustration that I was scheduled for a glaucoma exam and one of the people who performs a glaucoma test doesn't work on the day my appt was scheduled. Dr Do quite rudely responded with"What do you want me to do?" Not in an I'm here to help way but in the you are unreasonable and I am annoyed way. Even though it was more than reasonable for me to be frustrated that I would need to come back for a second appt due to this lack of patient consideration in scheduling. I said you could start by not being rude. At which point, Dr. Do very slowly laid one hand in his lap and placed the other on top, leaned forward and as condescendingly as possible said, "She's not here today." At this point, not wanting to be treated in this manner again, I asked if I could see another dr on my return. Dr. Do said yes, grabbed his clipboard, very curtly said go to the front desk and stormed out of the exam room. By the time I gathered my things and walked out into the hallway, Dr. Do was at the reception desk impatiently waving for me to hurry down the hall. Some of the information Dr. Do had provided was confusing to me and some of my questions went unasked because of his abrupt end to my appt. I did call to ask my questions but there was some guesswork involved in the answers I received because I was not talking to a doctor. Maybe I'm wrong, but I expect more respect, maturity and patient concern from a doctor who involved in my care. Maybe the other doctors in your office are more capable of understanding and caring for patients. However, at this point, I do not feel at all comfortable returning to an environment. where I've experienced such an extreme lack of professionalism and consideration.
