I saw Dr. Gerber due to 8 months of severe lower back pain. Before seeing the doctor, his PA came…read morein and went over my MRI with me. He kept telling me that my spine was that of a 20 year old (I'm 64), contrary to what the MRI report stated, which was several problems including an annular tear. He also kept saying, see with your own eyes, there's nothing wrong with your spine and kept going over the MRI as if if he said it enough times it would be true. He acted like my severe lower back pain was imaginary. He then sent in the Dr. who asked me "how did you get here"? Having had 2 labral tear surgeries by Dr. Philippon in Vail, CO, and his inability to say the pain was coming from my hip, he had told me to go to a neurosurgeon. Dr. Gerber, told me again my spine was that of a 20 year old, and he couldn't help me. He suggested I see an orthopedic surgeon for my hip (even though my pain was coming from my back, and I had seen one already). He also suggested I see a pain management specialist. He spent 5 minutes with me and never once considered that an annular tear could be the cause of my pain even though it was stated on the MRI report. I understand that my problem is a mechanical one and not a physical one that he could operate on, but he is a neurosurgeon, and you'd think he could have at least tried. For this total lack of any help, he charged me $440. I was left thinking, either he's a shi*** doctor or the radiologist who read the MRI was shi***. Anyway, thanks to him for nothing. Since then, I'm much wiser about annular tears and it appears it takes a doctor who is willing to look beyond the obvious to treat it.

Four different ortho/neuro's insisted I needed a fusion of L-3/4/5 due to spondylolisthesis, disc protrusion, stenosis, hypertrophy of the ligamentum flavum, arthritis and more. As an athlete and an ex-personal trainer that believed I could fix myself, I fought this holistically with every remedy known to man since Feb. 2017. Eventually I ended up on crutches late Oct. 2023 as I couldn't stand or walk as pain was excruciating. Thank God for my "5th" opinion! Dr Biscup told me I did NOT need a fusion, that I needed to remove the issues in my back that were causing the severe stenosis, back and nerve pain. I had microscopic endoscopic laminectomy surgery (did not know that was an option for me) and have been pain free ever since! Those who live with chronic pain for years get used to that pain being the normal. It's NOT normal! Life is too short - I forgot how amazing it is to walk, hike, swim, bike, (back to golf and pickle ball this summer) and have my life back. FIVE stars are not enough! I wish anyone who suffers excruciating pain would give themselves the gift of a consult with Dr. Biscup. He is brilliant, an excellent communicator, beyond accomplished, 35+ years of experience, kind, caring, a concierge doctor that truly takes the time to understand your issues. Dr. Biscup is the best investment I have ever made.

******* Take Time to read !! Well worth your time ******…read moreWell what can I say about my experience with Dr. Biscup.... I started this journey because i was having problem with my right knee and leg on long walks. I went to two well respected neurosurgeons and had a couple of MRI's done and both said to me , your spine L5 S1 was not that bad and being 60 Years old a little its expected to have a little leak ect.. I had a couple of Epidurals which gave no relief after few day's. At that point I suffered from a Bakers cyst on my right knee. I was referred to get a consult with DR. Biscup I set up an appointment for a small fee of $500. My wife and I went down to Poinciana way in Palm Beach as we entered we were blown away by his office that would rival any high end home his staff was incredible. We explained to Dr. Biscup about my leg pain and about my bakers cyst as we entered his hi tech office with a large screen tv and different models of the spine. He didn't waste any time on uploading my scans and zeroed in on my L5 S1 and said very convincingly said heres your problem. Unlike the two Neurosurgeons he was adamant that that was my problem . He will gladly tell you most of his patients are playing golf ect. within a couple of weeks. He wanted to do another Epidural to the tune of $2500 and once again I had relief for a few days. He expressed that i definitely needed this surgery. So with his Million dollar office and all his fancy documents on the wall we decided to schedule.. I talked to his staff to proceed. The cost of the procedure was $25,000 and I asked about insurance. Since he is concierge Dr. it was told that I had to pay up front . His Staff was so nice and Cynthia is one of the nicest people that I have met . She told me most people that have insurance are normally reimbursed sometimes up to 60% of the cost.. With the pain I would have paid double so I would have relief, I have extremely good insurance and denied it all. Total out of pocket was close to $30,000. Long story short, NOT only did I have absolutely no relief but the added bonus of a lower back ache still a year later which I never had before. I went back a few times and expressed my concerned his solution was to visit one of his colleagues in NYC , Naturally flights hotels and who knows how much more money. After this ordeal I went to a couple of orthopedic doctors and told my story , When I told them about my bakers cyst they were FLOORED that not a $50 xray was not done... BINGO they looked at all my MRI scans and said it was not your back you have bone on bone on my knee. I told the Dr. i was going away for a trip and suggested giving me a shot in my knee. Well let me tell you I have never had this type of relief and walked 15,000 steps a day on my trip. The hippocratic oath for DR.s is do no harm, well a simple xray and the fact I had knee pain and a bakers cyst would have given he story. I wrote and called Dr. Biscup to talk about the findings with no response. Finally I got him on the phone and all I heard was back peddling after $30,000 in bills my whole ordeal was not necessary and now I have on going BACK pain.. His response was I have to go, I have NO MORE TIME TO TALK and hung up. Please do your research and do not let his flamboyant office and his slick communication fool you.. Thank You DR. Biscup for my new on going pain in my back !

After a L2 kyphoplasty by Dr. Gary Colon (neurosurgeon Naples, Florida)I had extreme left glut and…read moregroin pain immediately after and Dr. Colon denied it was from the L2 kyphoplasty. After complaining to him for 3 months he got rid of me by sending me to pain management for epidurals, other injections, morphine and physical therapy which didn't help at all! After consulting other Naples neurosurgeons and neurologists for many months, with no honest answer from any of them, even though I had a CT scan prescribed by Dr. Gerber showing cement on the report at L2, but Dr. Gerber stated I had no cement in my canal and wanted to do a stim implant instead. After much research I found a neurosurgeon in Miami who looked at my scans and said the wrong surgery was done by Dr. Gary Colon and the Miami surgeon could fix it with a decompression and fusion at L1,2,3. He did this and removed cement from my spinal canal that Dr. Colon put there and never informed me of it, even though I had an MRI shortly after the L2 kyphoplasty that showed the cement and the MRI was seen by Colon. Dr. Colon also lied in his medical notes that I requested. Since this surgery by Colon I need a walker and I am confined to my home unless I get help to lift the walker. It's a living hell thanks to Colon! Office people are awful to schedule with.

It's so difficult to find a knowledgeable doctor that you can trust. I can't say enough about how professional & concerned he was. Spacious enough, lots of rooms, waiting area has tv on, but wished they had music in the examining rooms. Thin walls, seems every place is like this.... I could hear every ailment of my neighbors. Doesn't help they are old so they also speak loudly. This neurologist is friendly, warm and prides in taking time with each patient. That he does. You won't feel rushed, you def feel like he cares. It is a husband and wife team here too, very efficient. Doctor types right into the computer and sends descriptions directly to the drug store so you don't need to deal with anything more. Tip: Paperwork for new patients is thick, as other places, however, come at your appointment time. Not 30 minutes before like other clinics expect . I was told to come early from someone on the phone, yet then had to wait awhile. I would definitely return if I had to. Three wishes, is that they had water in the waiting area, that they recycled and had music in the rooms.
