Instead, he injected a different nerve bundle nerve that left my my left neck/shoulder/arm numb totally numb and unusable for 9+hours. Pretty stressful considering my hands/arms are my livelihood. I was told I would be "taken care of" and "not asked to pay" for the procedure over the phone during the aftermath but in the end I was charged the full $600 + emergency steroid for the botched procedure. I am an out of pocket patient. It was his suggestion to do an in-person follow up after, where he stated he doesn't know what happened, but that it was most likely my anatomy's fault, and doesn't want to try again for the correct nerve. He then expected me to be grateful like it was a generous offer not to make me pay in full for that follow up visit , which again only wasted my time, and provided me with absolutely zero benefit or relief financial or physical. I also saw him for pain meds, after telling him the only med I tolerate well is Percocet he prescribed me Tramadol.

I have been a patient of Dr. Brian Wallace's for several years following a torn ACL repair. I…read morerecently made an appointment due to shoulder pain and decreased strength in the gym. Dr. Wallace ordered an MRI which is conveniently located in the Joint Replacement Institute practice. His staff worked with my insurance when they first denied coverage even though it was the last few days of the year and my family had more than met the deductible. The MRI was covered and revealed a 50% torn rotator cuff and Dr. Wallace suggested PRP (Plasma Rich Platelets). Blood is drawn from the patient and spun to produce PRP which contains a mixture of platelets, including cytokines and growth factors, and has anti-inflammatory properties which injected into an injury site can stimulate the healing process. I have truly been more than pleased with the results. I no longer have shoulder pain including when I lay on my side and I am working my way back up to push-ups and heavier weights in the gym. (All was included in paperwork I filled out weeks ago) to which they ask me if I'd like to keep my appointment to be referred out again. Extremely Disappointed…read more I never had an issue with Prime MD, but unfortunately, since Lee Health took over, my experience has gone completely downhill. They have changed my primary care doctor multiple times because, apparently, my previous doctors were suddenly no longer in-network. I understand that insurance networks change, but what happened this time was completely unacceptable: I was dropped as a patient without being notified. I had prescriptions that were originally provided through their office, and now that one of them has expired, I'm unable to get my birth control refilled because I no longer have a PCP there. I was told I would have to pay $300-$500 out of pocket just to get a prescription refill elsewhere. When I asked why patients aren't notified when the practice stops accepting their insurance, the response I received from the person on the phone was simply, "I don't know what to tell you." That is not an acceptable way to treat patients. If you are going to stop accepting someone's insurance and remove them from your practice, patients should be properly notified and given enough time to establish care with another provider, especially when they have ongoing prescriptions. I am now left without a PCP and scrambling to get a medication refilled on time because of a change I was never informed about. Very disappointing experience with Lee Health.
