My son has been attending Sandoval a few years now. Sandoval is a little strange. The classes are grouped so for example 1,2 and 3rd graders are all lumped together for 3 years. I did question this method, but the bright side is that it creates some stability in class mates and teachers. It's half Spanish speaking which I feel is a mixed blessing as well. My son is learning two languages but I am afraid he may end up a "jack of all trades master of none" but the verdict is still out. The school is kind of hard to get into, so I think the parents and kids seem to take learning a little more seriously at this school.

When I brought the issue to admin's attention, they seemed appalled and talked of having a "body safety course" offered to their staff. Nothing ever came of it. Total Mom fail for spending $60k over the course of 2.5 years all for a program that promised us the world but delivered to us a sad, distrusting little boy who lacked any self confidence. I am very happy to report that 8 months later, we have rebuilt trust with our son, and he is thriving without being swallowed by constant negativity and abuse.

There was so much care and attention for us as parents of a potential student. This was a totally different feel than the mass group tours of other schools we have visited. This was really personal, we could ask all the scary questions we wanted and Amanda was incredibly kind, thoughtful and transparent with her replies. After we were done with our tour, we went from wanting our son to attend a school for only 2 days, to wanting him to go into the full 5 day program With Montessori Academy. We were that impressed.
