    The beyond dirty grout

The front desk workers were nice . But the hotel starting from the elevators up need to be upgraded asap. Especially for the price they are charging. Our room was very outdated and the mattresses were really bad. We could hear the springs inside . The bathroom was really dirty. I will post the photos but you can definitely see that no one is clean the floors or shower .

THE EVERYTHING RESORT! The Edgewater has quickly become one of my favorite places in all of Laughlin. It's got a 24/7 Denny's, massive pavilion for live concerts, cute arcade, several trendy bars, and Vegas' PINKBOX DONUTS! I haven't even mentioned the other food options like Capriotti's and the Edgewater's assortment of restaurants. The Edgewater has a dock where tours and water craft rentals are easily accessible. I love how there's plenty of great views on the property of the Colorado River. I stopped by during the evening after a Everclear concert at the Edge Pavilion and the vibes were great upstairs. There was a hilarious MC with a lot of energy and enthusiasm. I also want to give a shoutout to the Edgewater's adorable mascot Blingo! The marketing at Edgewater is chef's kiss. The casino floor and most of the interior looked fresh, however I would advise management to remodel the external build to attract more people. The hotel looks cool at night, especially the Edgewater sign. It's clear that this resort is a staple, it deserves a little face lift.

Boardwalk by river a great place to walk

We received a free night offer for Edgewater, so we stayed there while in town to see The Nutcracker. When we checked in, Hilary at reception helped us explore upgraded rooms. This is a older hotel, so we wanted to look at options. We decided to upgrade to the spa suite, which was generous in size. Although dated, the room was clean amd comfortable. I especially appreciated the large in room refrigererator. Service throughout our stay was quite good, beginning with Hilary at front desk. All of the employees we interacted with were professionally and polite. Our stay was in December, and the hotel was decorated for Christmas. Security was excellent, with armed security officers noted throughout stay. The boardwalk by the river is a great place to walk. It all depends on the type of vacation you are looking for. Yes, Laughlin is less glamorous compared to Las Vegas, but it's a nice change once in a while and a good value ( and far more relaxed atmosphere). Laughlin reminds me of Las Vegas 20 years ago. We have stayed at a few of the hotels, and Edgewater is a solid choice. The upgrade fee was worth it for the larger, nicer room. Be sure and get a player's club card if you plan to gamble. We don't spend that much money gambling, and still received valuable offers in the mail. Overall, this was a 4.0 experience.

    Nice line eh?

Im not sure why the ratings are so low but we had a very nice time. Nice room also. The bathroom needs updated, especially the showers. The beds were a bit to soft but it was nice and quiet. The ladies on the floors are super fast with drink deliveries. I saw so many people that didnt tip though. So do better people. Also they only have truly drinks instead of white claws so I didnt order drunks but the hubby did. I brought my own claws. These ladies walk their butts off. Even if you just tip a dollar its better then nothing. We ate at the steak house. I had the cowboy nachos and it was the bomb and hubby had a yummy steak for his bday on Thanksgiving. We will definitely be back. Also we visited the pink donut shop. The coffee sucked but we did buy a donut to take home to our son.

We spent a little time here playing video poker and grabbing a snack at pink box donuts. They need more video poker machines for sure. There seemed to be some good restaurants there too. You can walk the river walk to get here, which is nice.

The staff felt passive-aggressive and unhelpful rather than solution-oriented. Instead of trying to assist or explain policies clearly, the tone was cold and dismissive. The food was also unacceptable. It did not match the price point or expectations for a facility like this. Between the refusal of valid identification, the attitude of the staff, and the poor food quality, I left feeling distressed and unwelcome. I would strongly encourage management to revisit both their ID policies and customer service training. I won't be returning.

We stayed here for an April weekend for a country music concert that was in town…read more I made the reservation in December. The price was very reasonable for one of the newly remodeled king suites in the North Tower. I was able to pay half at booking and the other half at check-in. I got an email the morning of check-in allowing me to bypass the regular check-in process and check in online. I was very disappointed when I arrived to the hotel realizing I had to get in a long line and do the check-in process again even though I already did it and put my credit card down online. What is the point of offering early check-in? The second disappointment was the elevator situation. There are six elevators in the north tower. It appears that all of them are working. However, it was always a long line of people to go up and down. We got to our room, which was spacious and nicely decorated. However, it was not very clean. I had to use Clorox wipes and go over all the surfaces which still had unknown substances on them as well as a buildup of dust. For just being renovated, the room is still very dated. It was mostly cosmetic changes not a true renovation. On the plus side of the bed was very comfortable, the bathroom is spacious, and the water pressure in the shopper was fantastic. The biggest issue I had during my stay was the lack of maid service. We called down on Saturday morning to advise that we were leaving for the afternoon and would like some fresh towels and our room serviced. When we got back Saturday evening, the only thing that had been done was some new towels were thrown on the couch. The garbage was not removed. Neither was the old towels, and the bed was not made. When I did the online check-in and specifically asked if I would like the room cleaned while I was there and I checked, yes. While we were here, we tried Guy Fieri's Mexican restaurant. It was fantastic. The service was great. It was probably the best guacamole I have ever had. I highly recommend making a reservation. We had reservations at the range steakhouse the next night. It is a nice restaurant but very dated. There are nice views of the river. The stakes were very overpriced for what we were given. The lobster mac & cheese was pretty terrible. Our waitress was very nice and quick though. Check out was easy since I was actually able to do that online and not have to wait in line again. Parking was easy and free.

Day 1: We checked in and were given the wrong date and room type. Day 2: After a long drive, we went to shower, only to find the drain wouldn't work. The front desk said engineering wouldn't be available for 2 hours, so we moved rooms--only to end up in a room where the A/C didn't work at all. Later, we ordered room service and received a confirmation it would arrive within 45 minutes. After waiting over 1.5 hours, we called and were told, "Oops, we forgot your order." We were promised delivery shortly, but after another 45 minutes, nothing arrived. When we finally spoke to a manager (after waiting again), we were told the food had been thrown out because it had been sitting too long. Day 3: In the morning, we discovered a booger on the sheet right where my head had been. We contacted housekeeping and asked for fresh sheets so we could change them ourselves due to lack of trust. After waiting an hour, nothing arrived. When we followed up, we were told housekeeping had already come--but it turned out they were sent to the wrong room. The housekeeping manager dismissed it as "people make mistakes," and the director said we could change the sheets ourselves due to "safety issues." Day 4: At Smashburger, they only had Pepsi and Starry to drink, were almost out of meat, and would only sell single patties. They had only one water left. Day 5: At Cinnabon, the employee didn't ask what we wanted--just said, "You want a Cinnabon?" with no effort at customer service. Day 6: On our last day, my boyfriend developed a severe rash on his legs that has continued to worsen. Throughout the entire stay, every employee we encountered seemed unhappy and rude, as if they didn't want to be there. Customer service was completely nonexistent. We requested multiple times for a manager to call us--every single day--and never received a call back. On our last day, after waiting 45 minutes, we finally spoke to an assistant manager who simply asked, "What would you like me to do about it?" We again requested a call from the hotel manager and still have not received one. This was an extremely disappointing and unacceptable experience. We will never return. Don't waste your money staying here.

If you are expecting the ambiance of a modern hotel, this is probably not the place for you. Patty is the manager and she went above and beyond for us. We made a few less stops than we anticipated on the way out and were there a half hour before the office opened. Patty showed up early and said our room was ready, so we got settled right away (good luck trying to check in early at a bigger hotel). When making the reservation I included in the comments that we would have 2 sea doo's with us. The message didn't make it to her apparently, but she was very accommodating and showed us where to park the trailer and even showed us the launch ramp and dock which the motel has for guests/residents. We were only supposed to stay overnight, but our truck had some transmission problems as we were leaving town which stranded us for another night. We knew the office was closed on Sunday but my wife went to get the phone number to see if there would be an answer. One of the residents noticed her down there and got ahold of the on site housekeeper, who called Patty. The housekeeper was nice enough to pick Patty up for us! Patty came in on her only day off to help us get back in the room for the night, we sincerely appreciate all the help we got that day from everyone at Shangri La. I decided to make the best out of a bad situation and used their launch ramp to take one of the Sea Doos for an afternoon spin. It was absolutely gorgeous that night and I was a little less stressed about it all. About the launch ramp- In the morning when we were there the water level was low enough that the ramp is not usable until 0930-1000 when more water is released from the dam. For the rest of the day it is fine. If you are planning on coming with a boat or jet ski's, look at the satellite view of the ramp, it has some tricky turns and a long narrow ramp. A boat longer than 18' or so would take a short wheelbase tow vehicle and some tricky maneuvering to make it. The first day I didn't know about the water level changes and just drove to the city operated launch ramp and set up on the beach out there. It cost $25 to launch there and the ramp was pretty busy, which makes Shangri La even more of a value! We WILL be back again.

I'd chosen the Trop because of its Caesar's Resorts affiliation- I've previously stayed at Caesar's Palace, Paris, the Flamingo¹ and was reasonably confident that the Trop would suitably reward my good faith. ¹ I stayed at the Flamingo Hilton, where Elvis Presley once pioneered the entire "artist in residency" format, in the summer of 1994. Bill Clinton sat in the Oval, prior to staining Monica's blue dress; gas was $1.21/g and our rooms cost only $21/night. As it turns out, my faith was repeatedly challenged throughout this getaway weekender that was more "Planes, Trains and Automobiles" mini-vacay turned amok than "Roman Holiday." Lemme, your disheveled but faithful correspondent, recount the ways our expectations were steadily torpedoed: Musical rooms - We changed our room three times in the first 18 hours! We pivoted from room #1 because it lacked the in-suite fridge that this diabetic requires (and had pre-paid for on Expedia). Room #2 was just fine...'til I discovered an awful flood on the bathroom and carpeted hall floors due to... Nasty Plumbing - The toilet scarcely, lazily flushed mere deposits of the watery variety and the bathroom sink failed to drain. Until 1am, when I sleepily traipsed to the bathroom then nearly slipped and fell on the floor, deluged with black, stinky effluence that had apparently disgorged itself from the pipes underneath the sink! Vending Machines from Hell - Several vending machines, ranging from ICE VENDING MACHINES to soda dispensers and even one proudly peddling the Cake Boss Buddy Valastro's famous cakes were all marked with glum "Out of Order" signs. Tight w/ Blankets - The hotel withholds blankets. The beds are dressed with nothing but sheets and a very thin comforter. We hadta request two extra blankets from the housekeeping staff. Not all of our stay was an abject failure. -On-site restaurants include Guy Fieri's "Burro Borracho," (Nacho Average Taco Joint, the poster proclaims) the Brew Brothers and Carnegie's where we enjoyed a "Buy One Full Price, Get 2nd for $1" special on dinner. -The plantation shutters are a nice, whimsical touch in a chain whose rooms lurch from contemporary furniture (good!) to hideous popcorned ceilings ("Three's Company" demands it's set back!) Pro Tip- We did not realize til our arrival that the Tropicana actually is perched ACROSS (CASINO DRIVE) from the Colorado River- Most of its competitor venues like Riverside, Edgewater, Aquarius directly abut the mighty river. AVAIL YOURSELF of the oft-running River Taxi to use the private beach at sister property Harrah's Laughlin Resort! Assistant Hotel Manager Sache "Renae" Mark's deserves plaudits for resolving our complaint to our satisfaction. Renae not only graciously stayed a few minutes beyond her appointed shift departure time to help us, but slashed 30% offve our bill as a token of good will for our plumbing fiasco. My thoughts, "Really, with all of the gambling monies, you can't prepare for this emergencies and invest in better equipment." Secondly, the hostess' that walk around while your gambling were absolutely no where to be found. In the days we were there, my wife had only one bring her a drink and her she had to flag down. They had a smart TV, we were able to access netflix, amazin prime and another service (i cant remember) The arcade was decent but was prob better for smaller kids. Our kids still enjoyed it. The family pool was beautiful with plenty of sitting areas. It was about 90 something degrees when we went but the water was too cold for me! The kids and my husband had fun on the slides they had. They don't allow outside food or drinks but they had a little bar/snack shack. We did have to pay an additional 15$ for an extra pool wristband. 4 were given for a double bed room. The private beach was very cute but we didn't really spend any time there unfortunately. The ice machine was working and was a short distance from our room. We got panda express pretty late in the day, the food was a little sad but it was expected. We were located in the central tower, maybe all the terrible reviews werw from different areas of the hotel? Who knows. Oh, there only seemed to be luggage carts for those who were parking in valet, that part kinda sucked. We were also a ahirt distance from a gas station, Mc donalds, Starbucks and a few grocery markets. Overall we really enjoyed our time there and will def be visiting again.

It is a fun weekend getaway in Laughlin IF you know what you're getting into…read more 1. The casino resort is about 20 miles south of the main Laughlin strip of casinos. It's more secluded and less crowded, which can be a plus or minus depending on what you're looking for. The crowd tends to be older and calm. It's relaxing and not a party vibe. 2. The casino is VERY smoky and if you stay in the hotel here, the smoke is in the corridors too. There ventilation needs to be improved. Also the casino entrance is an open atrium that leads to the hotel hallways upstairs which adds to the smoke everywhere. 3. The pool and beach is very nice and chill. There's a bigger pool for families and kids and a separate pool hot tub section for adults alone. The pool is not heated so it's too cold to swim in the winter months but the hot tub is nice. 4. The rooms are nothing special but they're clean and do its job. The housekeeping was interesting as they did come and clean the bathroom and refill the toiletries, but the beds were sloppily made and the pillows simply thrown at the headboard. 5. Service at check in and at the restaurants were fine. The service at Mojave Coffee was great. 6. The casino is a good size with mostly a lot machines and electronic games. 7. There is a movie theater on site and an arcade which is good for kids. Bottom line: it's a fun place to get away if you know what to expect. It's good for casual gambling, laying by the pool, and a no frills yet fun experience.
