He barely reviewed my scans, rushed the exam, and ignored key health concerns. A second optometrist (virtual!) identified a cataract, an eye freckle needing monitoring, and the need for UV protection--none of which Dr. Wilcox mentioned. His prescription also left out a significant astigmatism correction. I came for care and left feeling belittled. I wouldn't trust him with my vision again. The staff is excellent, but I do not recommend Dr. Wilcox.

We hardly knew where to look but almost every booth seemed well organized. Most items were priced and prices seemed over all not outrageous. There was pretty much something for everyone and many of the booths had a sale going on. Sadly the booths I found items at weren't having a sale. But that's ok. I bought them anyway! If you like antiques malls with a nice variety of items, friendly staff, and an easy location this is a great place to spend a few hours.

The hygienist did a terrible job cleaning his teeth. She was not thorough at all and only cleaned a couple teeth. I believe the hygienist/dentist job is to educate the patients as well. Show them how to floss, use the toothbrush properly, use mouthwash, benefits of braces, benefits of whitening your teeth, etc. No one was informing all these children from ages 2-15 anything about proper dental care. Make this place more kid friendly instead of appearing as though it is a factory to move the patients through. The open concept room lets everyone hear and see what other patients procedures are and may scare some children seeing what other children's procedures are. The hygienist was surprised when we refused to get xrays and schedule a 6 month follow up cleaning. The dentist spent a whooping 2 minutes looking into his mouth. Don't waste your time or money at Hampton Roads Pediatric Dentistry.

When another son (not a current patient) had an eye emergency, they got him in within 15 minutes of my calling, telling me not to worry about giving information over the phone as they could pull it from my other son. Once again the doctor we saw was incredible and ensured my son's vision was not in jeopardy. Recently I went for my own vision -- affected by a dysautonomic disorder and while many other eye doctors have dismissed me over the years, Dr. Pierce knew exactly what I was dealing with, still made sure it wasn't just my eyes and is working with me to to ensure I find a solution for my uncommon situation. Frankly surprised by the negative comments, however most seem to have the same complaint, billing issues, which frankly seem like issues with people not understanding the own coverage or what is and is not in network. I paid $90 for myself and my son at that joint appointment. That's $45 each. I also had every exam in the book as we were trying to ensure it was not a retinal issue or worse. When I've needed anything the women at the front have gone above and beyond. I needed my son's prescription sent to me to order his glasses as I prefer a style provided by an online provider, and since they were on the phone with other patients, I received a text message asking how they could help -- I had the script emailed to me in less than 5 minutes.
