The husband-and-wife owners, along with their four wonderful boys, are building such a special place here. The property is absolutely stunning: an amazing barn that's ready to host weddings, a sparkling pond with a fountain and gazebo, a vineyard right on-site, a beautiful swimming pool, a cozy fire pit, and breathtaking mountain views in every direction. There's so much to do--wineries, breweries, and incredible restaurants are just 15 to 20 minutes away in any direction, along with antique shops to explore. Or you can stay put and relax: enjoy a private breakfast on the front porch, book an in-room massage, or have a romantic dinner under the old oak tree in the backyard. And the breakfast? Out of this world. The wife is an incredible cook--you'll wake up to something better than you could imagine every morning. Call the breakfast room the breakfast room and use pictures that reflect the "Hampton inn" buffet of a scrambled eggs and reheated potatoes. Not worth the money at all.

Our room came with a complimentary bottle of wine, which was really nice. They also have a wine hour that is self service and is complimentary. You're allowed as much wine as you want. There's also complimentary charcuterie during the wine hour and it's nice to be able to mingle with other guests. Breakfast the morning of us checking out was delicious and a truly beautiful experience. I wish I was still there.

We booked two rooms on January 9, 2024, for mid-October, my daughter's anniversary and our anniversary, but had to cancel one room on March 13, 2024, due to my daughter's pregnancy. We left our down payment with Herbert Kerschbaumer, Owner of Red Hill, knowing that my wife and I would still enjoy our anniversary in October of 2024. I have recently been diagnosed with Bladder Cancer and cannot make the trip to Red Hill B&B. We call Red Hill B&B for a refund and were told he would refund as soon as his internet came back on. A week later, on October 8, 2024, I reached out to Herbert once again and was told I would not be getting my refund ever and he hung up on me. I immediately called back, thinking maybe we lost connection with him, and he proceeded to tell me to "F" off and hung up on me again. I strongly warn anyone to do business with Red Hill Bed and Breakfast in Lovingston VA, as this establishment has no customer service nor professionalism.

There are wineries, breweries and a distillery. There are places related to history like the Appomattox Courthouse and the D-Day Memorial. There are lots of hiking trails. Encircled by gorgeous scenery and wildlife, we enjoy hiking to the nearby reservoir (about a mile or two one-way). This is the perfect get-away location.
