Great -NEW location in Des Plaines with parking lot in front of the building. Easy to make an appointment. I had my breast mammogram and ultrasound. Very friendly technicians- especially Ultrasound Tech- Anna. I'm glad that they hired a lady now, and she is fantastic, full of knowledge, and empathy. The mammogram was very easy compared to my previous time done at the hospital. Waiting time literally 6min. New, modern, and clean building. The Parking situation is SO MEAN! Just take down the dividers to the Tiffany Diner Parking lot already The traffic light turning arrow seems to point directly into the Tiffany Diner (not their fault), but instead traps you in the Edgebrook radiology parking lot, and it is impossible to get back to the restaurant without driving for miles because of the dividers. read more

I chose Edgebrook Radiology for a mammogram, when I learned that my doctor had referred me to Northwestern Memorial Hospital. Not only did I not want to deal with NMH's location, but the cost at Edgebrook was half that at NMH. I had a completely pleasant experience. Scheduling was easy, and I didn't have to wait 2-3 months, as so many health professionals' schedules require these days. I think I got in within a week, or two maximum. The woman who greeted me, was kind and professional; I had nearly no wait at all; the technician was lovely and empathic; and the results were clear -- they don't really get responsibility for that last part (; Ladies, it was as close to painless as a mammogram can be. If you're on the NW side of the city or convenient to 90/94 this could be a good option for you. Not only are they reasonably priced if you're doing self pay or have an outrageous deductible, they're efficient as well. They took the time to confirm my appointment the day before, and on the day of because of the snow storm they called to make sure I was going to be able to make it in, and told me if I wanted to get in earlier that would be great. I'm guessing they had some weather related cancellations. I offered to come another day if they wanted, and a friendly reply was given, that I was scheduled and they'll be there. Everything went smoothly, the only thing I would change is for the room to be a little warmer. I did start to get chilled mid way through, the gown and blanket wasn't enough. But then again they probably want to keep you awake so you don't involuntarily move around. You may want to bring some cheap foam earplugs if you don't like the noise, the low tone banging doesn't bother me, however mid way through there was a higher pitched tone that made me want to make high pitched tones of my own. Staff is friendly, the tech made sure I was comfortable and adjusted the gown carefully, he then offered me a blanket, which I accepted without thinking of asking. Parking is still easy, and FYI they're a certified mammography place too! read more

My experience at Edgebrook Radiology was all-in-all splendid. I came in to get an MRI and an X-Ray and the service was excellent. The employee at the front office, Terri, was extremely professional and checked me in politely and efficiently. I was soon taken in by an MRI technician who promptly secured me into the machine, and helped me get over my fear of confined spaces. I was very nervous to be secured into a machine for an extended period of time, but the technician talked me through my procedure and ensured that I was comfortable. I am extremely grateful for the staff at Edgebrook for preforming my scan and providing a professional and courteous atmosphere. read more

The facility is fantastic and the people working at the reception desk are very nice. My low rating is due to what happened afterwards. I went to Edgebrook to determine if I need surgery for a women's matter. I went before Christmas and understandably it took time to receive my results. My results were a joke at best. The report read I could have something but did not note location, size, nothing that would help me and my doctor make a decision regarding surgery. I am so angry and frustrated by this. I traveled a great distance to reach this office and now have nothing to show for the effort. The radiologist that worked on my report should be ashamed. read more

I would not recommend going to Edgebrook for a 20-week pregnancy ultrasound, even though it is much cheaper than other places. During our 40 minute exam, the sonographer didn't offer up any information about what he was doing or seeing. No "there are the toes" or "I'm measuring the skull." When we asked, he'd reply with a word or two. I realize he may not have wanted to diagnose anything, but a little bit of guidance about what was going on would've helped. Those exams can be scary when everything looks like a jumbled mess to the untrained eye. More upsetting to us what that we were expecting to find out the gender of our baby at the appointment, which my midwife, and every book and website I've read, says is standard at that point in pregnancy. The sonographer, however, didn't try until my husband and I practically begged him to - and it was a half-hearted try at that. He concluded "I think it's a girl..." and then "maybe that's a penis" and then ended the session. So...it's a hermaphrodite? I spoke with a nice woman at reception who explained that it was probably too early to look for gender because they've had trouble finding gender in women who are a month further along than me. This makes me think that their equipment is extremely out of date (and by the looks of it, it was). This was confirmed when we found another place that does gender ultrasounds starting at just 15 weeks into pregnancy. We got in the next day, and about 2 seconds into the appointment the sonographer said "I think I saw it!" After taking a few pictures, showing us the heartbeat and fingers and toes, reassuring us that it's not just a big alien-looking blob but an actual baby in there, examining the nether regions at different angles, she brought in another sonographer to confirm the gender. And then she gave us the news with a big smile. Luckily for us, this erased the bad experience from the day before at Edgebrook, but not enough to ever suggest someone go there. Pregnancy is challenging enough - do yourself a favor and spend a little extra money to hire a professional who can offer expertise, guidance and some comfort, at a facility that has the tools to do so. read more
