This was by far the BEST EXPERIENCE EVER. The staff was awesome and great. Definitely made sure everyone was safe and secure before heading up. A once in a lifetime experience with great views of the city

Picture of the CN Tower I took when standing outside and looking up. I didn't get the whole tower in the pic.

I've done two tandem skydives in Georgia, been on the Grand Canyon Skywalk & the Skydeck in Chicago. There's no way I was visiting Toronto without doing this. The Edge Walk is done at the CN Tower in downtown Toronto. No matter where you go in the city, you'll see that tower beckoning & taunting you. It's been doing that since 1976, though the Edge Walk attraction began in 2011. It stands 1,815 feet high, is the tallest tower in the western hemisphere & the 3rd tallest tower in the world. The Edge Walk itself is done on a ledge at 1,168 feet. I tried to make reservations before I arrived in Canada but they wouldn't let me use an American debit card to do it. But you can pay using your debit card in person at the tower & you can pay using credit cards anytime. I signed up for the 8am slot on Labor Day & it cost me $206.07 USD. I had been to the tower a couple of days before my scheduled walk. From street level, I looked straight up at it. It was so intimidating that I said to myself, "Do I really want to do this?" The answer was yes but I did think about it every time I saw the tower. Standing below it, I couldn't even get the whole thing in the picture with the camera I was using. . I arrived at 7:40am for my 8am walk. First security makes you empty your pockets & go through a metal detector. Then a young blonde escorted me to the area where I put on my jumpsuit. You're required to empty your pockets & store everything in a locker. This includes wallets, watches, cellphone, jewelry, change, keys, etc. If you wear glasses/shades they will attach something to the handles of it so they won't fall off. If you choose to wear glasses or gloves, you aren't permitted to take them off at any time on the ledge. You can't have any gum or candy in your mouth on the ledge either. You're given a breathalyzer test to make sure you aren't under the influence. They also check & make sure your shoes are tight enough so they won't slip off. I was given a red jumpsuit to wear. It felt tight because you wear it over the clothes you already have on. I also thought it was a size too small. I didn't complain but it made me look like I was wearing high-water pants and with the clothes I had on underneath it gave the appearance of extra inches along my waistline. That harness though! You slide your legs in & they tighten it for you. It's as snug as what I wore skydiving. Without being too graphic let's just say I felt "tucked under." They check the harness several times to make sure it's secure. Then I was introduced to my videographer. She was a raven haired cutie with big, dark eyes & an outgoing personality. She looked like the athletic girl next door & her muscular legs were just bulging beneath the yoga pants she had on. My goodness she was hot! And here I was trying to act normal with my junk tucked underneath me & wearing a tight harness. The elevator that takes you up to the ledge moves fast but still takes 58 seconds to get up there. The bottom of it has a couple of glass slots so you can look straight down & you can also look straight ahead and see the Toronto skyline as you rise up. She asked me questions & seemed to be trying to gauge whether I had a fear of heights as we went up. She asked if I'd done anything with heights like skydive, etc. She asked how I felt looking thru the glass slots as we distanced ourselves higher from the ground & told me that when we first get up there it's going to be quite windy. After we got off the elevator, a guy attached my harness to a thick black rope & yellow one then checked it several times. Then the raven haired cutie and I walked out on the ledge. Since I was the only one who signed up for the 8am slot, I felt like I was being given VIP treatment. As she stated it was windy on the ledge at first & as the wind hit the metal up there you could hear a ringing sound. We walked some as she told me about the CN Tower and made it to a spot that wasn't windy. Then she asked, "Are you ready to try some activities?" Translation: Your ass is about to be leaning over the edge. First she walked me to the very edge, told me to let my toes hang over it & look down as she pointed out several landmarks. After that she got me to do a pose where I'm leaning forward (which was the hardest one to me). Then she got me to squat & slowly back up to the edge. She asked me to straighten my legs. When I stood I was leaning backwards with only my feet touching the platform. Then I did it without holding the rope. This was my favorite pose! We were up there over 20 min & walked the complete circumference of the ledge. Every stunt I did she did first to show me how it's done. After awhile I was completely comfortable out there. After it was over they gave me 2 photos in a case, a cd & a certificate declaring me an Edgewalker. For $25 I got a drive with pictures of the walk on it. I left knowing my Toronto vacation was complete.

I was completely satisfied with my experience at the EdgeWalk. I came with my brother after wanting to try it since it opened. The day we came was a beautiful day, but there were lots of clouds. It turned out that when we were walking on the edge that it was all white underneath. It literally felt like we were walking on the clouds. I think that helped my nerves b/c I couldn't see the bottom. We saw our shadows in the clouds, a rainbow in the clouds and a plane come out from the clouds. The only thing that sucked was that we didn't see the ground - but the staff don't have control over that! All of the staff were great and helpful. Our guide in particular was very enthusiastic. I felt completely safe the entire time. At the end we received a certificate, 2 printed photos and a DVD. Because the weather wasn't awesome they gave us all of the photos that were taken on the DVD as well. The only thing I wish they did was let us pick the 2 photos that were printed (especially if they weren't going to give us the rest). Some people say that it's a lot of money, but considering what you're doing and what you get, I don't think it's that bad. $200 for the 2 hrs, which includes 30 mins outside walking and doing activities, the photos and the DVD. I would have thought that this would be a one time thing, but that couldn't be further from the truth. I 100% would go back in different weather conditions, as it would make the experience completely different.

This is one of the coolest things you can do. It's well worth the $200 for the experience of a life time. I've read 2 negative reviews and I know everyone's entitled to their opinion even if the opinion is ignorant and complete bs. When you're up there you can see for kilometers. I went for my 30 birthday and the weather was perfect. You can lean out forward and backwards, you can walk the edge and on the last part you can just hang out and relax. The platform is about the size of the a sidewalk and you're attached to 2 harnesses. From the ground floor to the too is very fast and leaves no time to back out. For an added bonus when you're done go jump on the glass floor and watch everyone clear off like it's lava. ;) Bottom line if you've got the guts go for it. Yeah it's $200 but an awesome memory and a crazy feeling can't have price put on them. (Unless you're a cynical a$$hole)

What an AMAZING experience. Seeing pictures and actually being there are 2 completely different experiences. It is UNREAL! You should get there about 20 minutes before your start time. The workers will walk you through everything you can and cant wear- basically any accessory that makes you look pretty is not allowed. I had to get rid of my earrings, rings, nevcklaces, bobby pins....thank god i didn't tell them i had my clip on hair- i wasn't taking that off for ANYONE. Anywho- once up there. Romina (lil bird) made us feel super comfortable and was encouraging towards the more scAred people. She walked us Around the whole circle while at the same time pointing out historic buildings, niagara falls, east/west sides of Toronto. Very cool tour and TOTALLY worth the money. Walking out was SUPER nerve wracking but they seem to take VERY GOOD precautions, so within the first 5 mins I felt like i lived up there. My tour was at 6pm which allowed us to see the sunset, it was absolutely gorgeous. Thanks Romina, Justin, and the 2 people (guy/girl) that helped us put on our equipment! :-)

June 29, 2015 Edge Walk is one of the things you should try when you come to Toronto. I've lived in Toronto for over six years and I still considered the CN Tower's Edge Walk as an item on my bucket list. You won't regret it! Walking around the edge of the CN Tower's restaurant roof and hanging yourself 1,168ft above the ground or 116 building storeys! Any idea how I felt? My heart was beating very fast even before the journey began! I waited to do it for a long time, and finally my husband and I decided to do it on our wedding anniversary. Many people had the same idea! There was a couple in our group that came for their honey moon! So sweetie pie! My both hands were cold and wet. Ya! I was very scared in the beginning. It took a while to get used to the height. Talking was very helpful. Our guide was nice and friendly. He eventually made me feel more comfortable and I didn't want the walk to end. It was so much fun! I wish the walk could be extended up to an hour so we could have more time to enjoy ourselves hanging out on the Tower with the fascinating scenery of Toronto! Their staff were knowledgeable and funny. It was a part that made this journey memorable. If you want to experience one great thing in your life time like CN Tower's Edge Walk, GO for it! Very short moment can be remembered all of your life. Keep in mind that you should check the weather ahead of time before you book the walk. Wear comfortable clothes and tight shoes. Make sure that your shoes are not gonna fall off and land on people on the ground :D. Keep your jewelry at home and tie your hair if you have long hair. Then you can start your journey without worrying about your stuff and safety. There are 6 people in a group, excluding the guide. Everyone get s attached to an overhead safety rail thru a trolley and harness system. It felt very annoying to me when I walked, especially the harness line behind my head! By the way, I realized that it was the only thing that can keep me from falling! haha.. A ticket for the walk is $195.00. It included 1 individual photo and 1 group photo, a DVD of the walk, and access to the LookOut Glass Floor, SkyPod and attractions. If you'd like to have all of the pictures that were taken, it's an additional $25 for a USB. Then, you can enjoy the moment again and again! PS. It was an exciting experience but not thrilling as zip lining over the Canyon or Rafting on the White Water River. If you're a sky diver, I'm sure that is more stunning. Anyway, it was worth every penny and I would recommend it!

Signing waivers before you do your jump. Make sure to fill out your address in full and sign BOTH sides

I've lived in Toronto for almost all of my life, and never have I been more excited to try anything in the city. I came here with some friends and my boyfriend, who had been visiting from British Columbia, Arizona, and California, respectively. At a cost of $195.00 + 13% HST, you get to participate in the highest external building walk in the world. Included in your post-experience package is a video DVD of your experience (taped as you walk), 2 professional photographs (1 individual picture, and 1 as a group), and last but not least, a certificate of your participant number that indicates that you have become part of the Guiness Book of World Records. After your walk, you can use those same tickets to get an express pass to go up the CN tower, see the glass floor and use the skypod (yes - you can bypass those ridiculously long lines that you see going INTO the CN tower). Like many other reviews prior to mine have stated - yes, there are a TON of safety checks leading up to your walk that can be really exhaustive; but hey, better safe than sorry, right? Please note that they will also ask you to perform a breathalyzer test before suiting up - so don't drink too much. My friends and I actually had a drink with lunch right before, not knowing we'd be asked to perform one. Thank god, no one took it upon themselves to drink themselves silly. Other safety tips...make sure you don't wear any jewelry of any kind - you're required to take them off. Also, if you walk with too much luggage, there are also lockers where you can lock your things away. You do not need your own locks - they are provided. We were taken up by a guide named Jenny. She was extremely animated, and really fun to be around. She took us through different types of tricks before actually walking the perimeter of the tower. My only regret or form of criticism, was that the walk would have been a little more exciting if we were able to lean back off the edge AND walk at the same time, rather than only being taught to lean back. I understand that this is a little more dangerous, but would have been exciting for more thrill-seeking individuals. I highly encourage participants to spend the $20-25.00 to get the full USB of all photos from the experience. We actually got some great shots, and photo quality was great.

You're literally on the EGDE! (But you don't actually walk on the edge the whole time)

EdgeWalk review: AMAZING! It was worth every penny! The sights were spectacular! Very exhilarating! You will not regret this crazy experience! Our guide, Justin was awesome-- no complaints here!

Activate is open daily and hours change depending on the day. Since Activate is located in a plaza, there is plenty of parking throughout. It is also accessible by the Eglinton LRT as well. I stopped by Activate for the first time recently with a party of 4 to enjoy some fun at the facility. We decided to go in the morning around 10am on a Saturday. It does get busier later in the day which can increase the time you'll need to wait for games as more people are in more rooms. Upon entering the facility, you pay for how many minutes of play you desire and collect your wristbands (one is a player wristband, the other is a locker wristband). If it is your first time there, there are stations where you can create a player ID and account. Before entering the play area, to the side there are some tables for you to rest. There is also a locker room with a bench as well as separate washrooms for females and males. There are water stations as well. It is best to wear comfortable shoes or running shoes as some rooms/games require you to move around quite a lot, which can work up a sweat. Games wise, the games are fast, which last only a few minutes, best played with a small group of players (2-5 people where 5 people is the maximum number of players). Each room also only allows one party to play at a time. Each room also has about 4-5 different games with different levels of difficulty. Before entering a room, a specific game is selected where everyone in the party scans their wristband by the door. This way, you can earn points or keep track of your high score for a certain game (getting a certain amount of points can allow you to redeem points). Once in the room, you can keep replaying the game as long as there is no other party waiting to play outside (if there is you'll have to exit the room as soon as possible). The games, all time-based, range from shooting hoops, dodging lasers, finding items, shooting targets, throwing balls, stepping on specific colours on a grid, the list can go on! The levels of difficulty within each game also vary making it more difficult to pass a certain level. There is definitely a game for everyone to enjoy. Within the games area, there is also a photo booth area where you can take photos with your party. Your photos are then digitally sent to your email as well. Overall, an interactive and immersive gaming facility where arcade-style games test your physical and mental skills! Activate is for all ages and is a fun activity to do in a small group. Definitely go in the morning if you want to avoid the crowds!

Once you finish going through all of the obstacles in the course (which took ~30-45 minutes), you can play dodgeball, volleyball, arcade games, giant Jenga, giant 4-In-A-Row, try scaling up one of the vertical walls, or go through any of the obstacles again. Staff were all super friendly and energetic, from the ones who greeted us at the front and helped us check in, to the ones who explained the rules once inside. Useful tips: - Sign the waiver online to save time when checking in. - Bring a lock or you can purchase one at the front desk for $4. - There is ample parking space in the parking lot right outside the building, and TTC bus stop is 2-8 minutes walk (depending on which bus # you take). - There is a vending machine where you can purchase drinks. - It's better to wear long pants or leggings instead of shorts because in some obstacles, there are 'slides' component and parts where the surface can rub hard against the skin (and pants also do a better job at protecting the knee when crawling).

Admittedly, I don't have too much to compare to as I've only done much smaller courses indoors. However, there are still 5 fairly large (IMO) courses) and it does largely require the advertised three hours. I think it's pretty good value for the experience, the relatively high staffing ratio and large course. There's quite a mix of obstacles in terms of crossing, so it's not simply repeating the same thing. All five courses each have their own zip line and some are a pretty good distance. I found staff very helpful and quite patient with everyone. You get about a 20 minute intro, but it's very much needed as you need to know how to hook yourself up safely and even set up on a zipline on your own (but they're there for the first one). I'll be honest, I did deliberately try and position myself near the start so I wouldn't be in the back of our cohort. You may want to consider doing the same, though it seems as though after a bit of time it spreads out pretty well. Note that the giant zipline that goes back and forth across the lake is an extra $18 or so. It's well worth it from my experience since you're travelling a few hundred meters (each way) and get the speed and distance you'd associate with a thrill ride. The ones in the course are still pretty fun though, especially when they're your first experiences. I was okay without gloves as I have fairly calloused hands, and I'm proud of my daughter for barely complaining though I could see they were a bit red when done. They should probably do a better job of suggesting it to people when purchasing tickets as I heard others expressing that they wished they had them. You hold onto cables virtually all times when crossing and at times there's a good amount of tension. Plus, for them, it's a wasted opportunity as they could probably make good money selling cheaper pairs. All that said, it doesn't affect my rating and I was fine personally. For me it made for a wonderful day and mixing: adventure, exercise and nature are right up my alley. A bit crazy that it took me so long to get to this place since it's so close, but very glad that I did.

They gave lots of clues, without taking away from the challenge. Moreover, the place is well maintained and it is clean. Keep up the good work.

This new escape room is conveniently located downtown, and we went there for a work social. Getting…read morein was slightly disorganized, but understandably so given that there were at least 50 people squeezed into the reception area at one point. It's a cozy place though with a few couches, coat racks, and lockers to store your belongings - oh, and the mandatory signs to hold up for pictures afterwards, of course. There are 7 different rooms here, 2 of which are horror themed. My team selected the "Godfather" with its 5/5 stars in difficulty rating, with the reason that we wouldn't be embarrassed even if we failed (i.e., a good excuse haha). Without spoiling anything, it gave us quite a run for our money! At first I had thought that the 9 people (maximum) we had in the small room would be overkill, but there were a few convoluted clues in there that had all of us circling around in confusion. It was only after 4 calls for hints later (hints are unlimited here - you'll need them) and with just 1 minute to go on the clock that we thankfully made our escape. Overall, everyone enjoyed the escape games, and the friendliness of the staff definitely contributed to the positive experience. Instructions were clear and the process was fairly efficient, although I felt they were somewhat understaffed as there was sometimes a delay in receiving hints - again, this was to be expected as we constituted a large group, but you'll appreciate my frustration when you're in the room staring in panic at the clock counting down on the wall. The price is reasonable given the location, recommended! :)
