This is my first review, so please bear with me :)…read more My hair stylist of 9 years, JR, recently moved into a new space at iStudios Salon in Maitland. Walking into the new salon was quite different than anything I've ever seen before. Throughout the building are multiply sectioned off areas, mini salons if you will, for each stylist. Some sections may only have one stylist and some two or three. So the spaces are really designed for the owners/stylists needs. The entire space feels open and airy and many of the rooms have HUGE ceiling to floor glass windows which bring in a ton of sunlight. While I was there, stylist would come into JR's salon and chat it up, share stories, or even find out what products they were using. I felt there was a mutual respect for other stylists talents as well as a sense of camaraderie between each of them. I think a salon space like this has its perks. For example, JR does not do eye brow waxing, but there are other mini salons inside iStudios that do. So I could easily go from a hair appt to an eye brow waxing at another salon while never leaving the building. If I felt a bit friskier, I did meet someone there that also does spray tanning in their salon. If you are in the area and are in the need of a "new" salon, you should definitely check it out.

I promise you, these professional stylists can not be outdone. From the incredibly friendly, doting, staff - to the plethora of expertise between Sherry and her team, I am beyond impressed. I went in with icy blond hair (with dark brown roots, yuck) and came out with a rich chocolate brown that I am in awe of. She's just one of those few people that you feel like you've known forever. I know about her life, as she knows about mine and countless other clients'. She genuinely cares for all of her clients, and will give the shirt off of her back if needed. Then there's her talent! Melanie is truly gifted when it comes to color and style. The colors she uses are client specific, meaning she mixes colors to make a unique match for what each client is expecting. The brand of color she uses is so vibrant and rich, I've never found anyone in Florida that uses colors that I can compare to hers. My hair is extremely thick and wavy, so it is very time consuming for a hair dresser to do a proper blow out. The first time I went to Melanie, I almost left in tears because I have NEVER had someone actually take the time to do a full blow out before. For the first time, I actually left the salon feeling beautiful and confident, not wanting to rush home before anyone saw me to style my own hair. I used to work near Melanie's salon so it was convenient for me to go to her. When I started working and living nearly 50 minutes away from Just Fabulous, I tried a local salon recommended by many people in my area. It wasn't at all what I was used to by that point. I had to get back to Melanie ASAP! I will continue to make my drive out to her without complaint, she is 110% worth it. During my last visit, I actually sat next to a woman that traveled hours routinely to get her hair done by Melanie because she moved a few counties down south. If that doesn't prove her worth, I'm not sure what will!

Giving Thanks on this weekend…read more... This review of Melanie comes with such gratitude and love. I received a last minute work assignment notice to Florida. My hair looked like it needed a haircut and a color (bad!). Melanie was kind enough to come in on her day off and on a moments notice! I knew I needed to color my hair but this kind and generous woman had already accommodated me by coming in on her day off. I was NOT going to ask for that additional labor. I was happy with the cut. But she she just couldn't let me go without having my color done. So what does she do? She canceled her appointment so that she could do my color! The atmosphere in the salon was very fun, we were laughing and joking throughout my entire time there. Very positive energy. I have short hair and the cut is very cute and the color has lasted. I have waited 30 days to make this review so that it would be honest and accurate. I will travel up to Lake Mary to have follow up cuts while I'm in this area working. I cannot thank Melanie enough for what she did for me. You won't go wrong getting a haircut here. And the price is a third of what I was paying in Austin, Texas and the Oakland County, Detroit, Michigan metro area. Highly highly recommend.

This review is about Leslie Morgan, who works in this salon Empire suites. Rock paper scissors is…read morethe name of her salon. I made a post saying that I have an autistic child that does not like to get his haircut and he screams and gives trouble so she answered and said that she could cut his hair and that she is experienced and cutting children's hair with disabilities. So we got there and when she started cutting his hair, he started screaming very loudly and moving around just like I thought he would. I tried to get up and help to brush the hair off of his cape because that's what he doesn't like because it's a sensory thing she kept telling me to sit down And not get involved so I made myself a cup of coffee and I sat down and let her do her thing and he kept screaming and moving around. So then she goes ahead and stops and says that his screaming is bothering everybody in the building mind you the door next to us was blasting music so loud that I don't understand how his screaming would bother anybody so I left a review on the bookie. I think it's called where you make the appointments she responded that it was my fault because I was screaming and yelling which I was not. I never raise my voice, not one time and if I wasn't there it would've went better witch is false because my son never would've went into a room with a stranger if I was not there cause that's just how he is , I know how to calm my son down and she would not allow me. So when she finally just started shaving his head wildly just to get it even it wasn't even when we left. It was spiky on one of the sides to which she told me once I wash it it'll lay flat, so I went home and I washed it and when it dried, it didn't lay flat. It was spiky still just like I thought it was gonna be , so I had to go ahead and buzz it myself on a three so would be even.. When we got into the car, my son told me that he did not like her. She made him feel very uncomfortable. I do not recommend this woman to anybody, especially if you have a child with disability and if you leave a bad review, she's just gonna leave a bunch of lies underneath it just like she did with me saying that I was yelling and screaming and telling me That , I was doing empty promises or empty threats because I told my son that I was going to take away his tablet until he was finished cutting his hair and then he would get it back to which she said to the response of the review, I left that I bet you gave him his tablet back right away didn't you? She was basically so rude and so nasty to the both of us that we just walked out and left his hair looked horrible. She has no idea what she was doing cutting a child hair that has autism, and then she goes ahead and responds with a lie that I was screaming and yelling, and I never once raised my voice. I would never scream and yell at my son when he's crying and upset, basically saying that it was my fault and it wasn't my son's fault about his hair and I did nothing but try to comfort my son and try to be there for him. So I wouldn't trust this person with anything in the world because she gets a bad review and she makes up a bunch of lies to make herself look better and she cuts hair pretty terribly and she treats people pretty badly , and she does not know how to handle that Disability would stay away from her. And I had my phone on record the whole time just in case because I've had bad experiences in the past with people cutting my son's hair, so I have proof that I never raise my voice, not one time so for her to lie in the review, I left on the other site saying that I was the one yelling and it was my fault not my son's fault and I was the problem. It's just absolutely ridiculous, she couldn't handle it that my son was screaming and yelling. She couldn't handle it that he was moving around. She couldn't handle cutting an autistic child's hair and she just doesn't have it in her to just admit that she couldn't do it so please do not bring any of your children to her, especially if they have a disability

Every snip shows, so finding someone who specializes in precision cutting was a challenge. I was referred to Marianna at Lucia Benjamin and I have never been happier with my hair. She has a unique process. While most places Iv been have taken me straight to the shampoo bowl, Marianna took me to her chair for a full on consultation. She examined my hair and then started the cut dry. I was then taken to the sink for a wash. They use Oribè products in the salon, amazing scent and makes my hair feel like silk. After the wash I get a blow dry and then she texturizes. The cut feels unique to me which is so rare to find since a lot of cuts Iv had have seemed textbook and not suitable for my hair texture.
