I am a faculty member at Colorado State University. The CSU IT folks suggested I call one of the two Apple repair shops or the Edge Computer Repair store in Fort Collins for damage to my MacBook. My morning energy drink spilled and ran down and inside my 2017 MacBook Pro. The MacBook was dead and I was already looking for another $2500 for my next MacBook Pro. I called three computer repair shops (including the two Mac stores FC). Sam at Edge Computer Repair was the most responsive on the phone so I took it there. Just as my IT folks told me, Sam at Edge said my green drink was all over the inside, circuits were already corroded, no power, etc... I just wanted the data! Edge went to work, cleaned out the green mess, replaced circuits, soldered fine connections, etc... Two days later the MacBook Pro was alive and running as new. All of my data was there! What I learned - don't mix a MacBook with your morning drink (green or not), always use the Time Machine backup, and always always call Edge Computer Repair for any hardware issues. Yes, I am a very satisfied customer! I was lazy and careless about putting away my laptop resulting in the hard drive on my Macbook Pro getting damaged when it slid from the back seat of my car under the driver's seat. Worst case scenario was that they'd have to replace the hard drive and do a complete data recovery from the damaged one. Both Mark and Sam kept me posted about the good news and the bad as they worked on my Macbook over the couple of days required to get both my Macbook operational and my wife's PC laptop maintained. Ultimately, I didn't have to spend as much as they initially thought it might cost me. Before going to them I did a little research about where to take my Macbook and agreed with reviews of "the other guys", two of whom I had used previously. I sent a drive to Sam for recovery that had been opened and damaged by two other recovery companies who said there is nothing that can be done. Well, I'm here to tell you, Sam was able and DID recover all the data needed (after fixing the issues others caused). Not only that, after inspecting the data recovered, we discovered we had not gotten the complete set, so Sam, in his wisdom, had kept the drives ready to rework just in case. Good thing he did, he went back in and retrieved the "hidden" data and now we have happy customers. Three weeks later Sam contacted me to ensure we are happy, we have all the data and confirm it is ok for him to securely delete and destroy the drives and data. Fantastic work! I spilled a bottle of green juice on the keyboard of my 6 month old Macbook Pro. The first shop I called, without looking at it, said they would have to ship it to Apple and it would be gone for over a week. Luckily I found Sam's "Edge Computer Repair" company. Less than twenty four hours later, he had checked it, cleaned up the one spot inside that had liquid, and then meticulously disassembled and cleaned the key caps and hinges on the right side of the keyboard. For a fraction of the cost of a replacement keyboard, and most importantly QUICKLY (since this machine is the source of my income) he had me back in business. I was told that my brand-new laptop was good for nothing more than spare parts because of a small piece that had broken. The company would not help me. The Edge Computer Repair is a "5-Star Company." I originally took my laptop to another computer repair in Fort Collins. After having it 5 days, they wanted to keep it longer and "reinstall Windows 7" to "maybe" solve my problem - a buzz/freeze in videos. I put a halt to that, picked it back up, and via a peer recommendation (plus Yelp reviews) took it to The Edge. They absolutely know what they're doing - repaired my laptop in "less than 24 hours," corrected additional issues created by the other company, solved my buzz/freeze issue, and my laptop is now performing better than before. they did this all for an extremely reasonable cost. Using PC's for 45years I had a hard disk failure for the first time - blue screen of death. Edge is nearby so I thought I would try out their service. Sam determined the drive was unrecoverable, and I decided that I would have to replace the 10 year old Vostro with a new PC. But Sam said he could put an SSD in the Vostro, update the OS and upgrade to 8G of memory. All of that for much less than a new PC. Furthermore, the Vostro now is blitzing along, with Photoshop, Office, Facebook and other programs opening in very snappy fashion. Sam, Jeremy and even the mascot, Roxie are the BEST! Edge was not only over the top helpful during an employment lapse but also still with a newer laptop I've obtained. They're more than willing to offer out of the box fixes without even driving to the shop. If you need their expertise, they're able to repair just about anything. After working on our home PC for over 6 hours, I figured it was beyond my scope of knowledge. Great work! I was very impressed the service that I received. I had Edge do a advanced hard drive recovery on my desktop and they delivered. During the whole process, I would regularly receive updates so that I would know the status of the recovery as well as being able to give my input for what would best work for me. They were always mindful of the cost, doing there best to keep the cost down. Although, it ended up being an expensive recovery. I would have easily spent a lot more somewhere else. Sam and Ben have done excellent work! They've rehabilitated an ASUS laptop that now runs better than new computers! They did such a great jog that I asked them to put a solid state drive into another ASUS and I now have computers that are as fast as possible.
