    Outside of Eden Cafe!

Amazing venue and music! Yes, it is a cafe and investment company in one. Owner Joe made us breakfast (you can't go wrong with The Egg Man breakfast plate!) while Louis Prima music played in the background. My daughter Eden and I hung out and chatted with Joe while we ate. Joe brought out a bucket of instruments and interesting things for a little one to play with. He even had a small zither! With such great conversation and service, we will definitely be back for another amazing morning :)

What a cute spot!!!!!! The owner was super super super welcoming and personally served us our breakfast and coffee! I had the egg man croissant with a side of potatoes/hash browns which was actually quite good! Perfect portion size too! Perfect butter croissant with egg and cheese made for the perfect morning! Their coffee is regular nothing fancy, just good ole coffee and cream .. initially when looking up this cafe online the pictures made it look like a spacious venue but it was quite small with most tables seating only 2 individuals .. but live performances are held here so I can imagine how packed this place can get since it is one of the few in town... I'm glad I found this spot though! Definitely coming back on my next trip

I stopped here for a quick drink this morning before work and was the only person in the place so I got the barista's undivided attention which was nice. I think he may have been the owner...? He asked hot or cold, the recommended the French toast latte, which was pretty awesome. He even made it 'skinny' for me with sugar free add ins. I even got a second for my friend because it's her birthday. The best thing about this place, though, I have to say, is the bathroom. Just the most awesome decorations throughout the place and a blue light bulb creates such ambiance. I will be back later in the day when they have an event to see if it's just as cool. P.S. they have slices of birthday cake in their display case--how cool is that?

Eden cafe is one of the kind. I was visiting the area, after reading Yelp review, went there for coffee, instantly fell in love with it. The place is amazing, hommy and very relaxing. Joe and Nick are the best host. Joe can make you feel so comfortable there and he will also make you a fantastic cup of coffee. Now it's my go to place when I am in town. It's like going to friend's house. Many afternoons there are live music in the shop, they also host performances in some evenings. By the way, Joe is also a financial advisor. Imagine having coffee and get your retirement planned!

Best coffee shop in the Capital District! Cool vibe and GREAT coffee! The owner Joe Ventura is always there and entertaining. The coffee and ambiance is just the surface of this special little place. There is always something really cool going on. They provide a full schedule of live music and a weekly Open Mike. If you are an artist you have to go support. This place is so welcoming and supportive of all artists. Can not say enough good about this gem!

Not bad for airport food…read more Dumb me forgot to pack a snack on my flight so once I was past security my mission was to find something not too expensive. Walking toward my gate I noticed this place. It seemed clean and simple. They had a variety of sandwiches, bakery items (croissants, muffins, bagels) and perishable items such as parfaits. I was debating between the turkey and swiss on a cranberry baguette, turkey and brie on a baguette, or something simple like a muffin and croissants. The sandwiches were $8 and sitting in a glass case pre-made. I didn't want to take the chance having a disappointing expensive sandwich so I decided on a Banana Nut Muffin and a Spinach and Feta croissant. Each were $3; not too bad considering I was in an airport. The Banana Nut muffin wasn't anything extraordinary. It had plenty of nuts on top but lacked a significant banana flavor. The outer edges were crispy which didn't bother me and the inside was soft as a muffin should be. The muffin was average and satisfied my sweet tooth. The Spinach and Feta croissant was pretty good, but it was more dense than a croissant should be although it was still tasty and flaky. There wasn't an abundance of the spinach feta mixture but it was just enough. It was obviously not fresh spinach or feta, but a mushy mixture of the two. It had the consistency and almost taste of spinach artichoke dip. I found it pretty good, but if you're not a fan of such textures then it probably isn't for you. The size of it wasn't very big, but it was enough for a snack. Overall, for a lunch/snack I think the place isn't bad for airport food and the prices were as good as they can be at an airport. The staff wasn't overly pleasant, but I didn't expect them to be.

The breakfasts and coffee are solid. The staff is helpful and courteous. I showed up for breakfast recently. I ordered the Chorizo. Two eggs, two chorizo sausages with pepper jack cheese and spicy mayo on a sandwich roll. It was as good as I remembered. I also enjoyed the coffee included in the $11.45 price. I took the meal upstairs where there's additional seating. I ate it while seated inside the picture window, which is a good place to the activity along Lark St. The eatery is as eclectic as ever. There are signs and artwork on the walls from different eras that don't go together. The place is old and perhaps a bit musty. Still this place had so much history with the area and its mismatched decor is a part of its charm. Change may be good. But in the case of the Daily Grind, I'm happy to still be able to get a delicious meal at a reasonable price from a nice staff after all of these years. Comfort food at its best.

It's no wonder why they are so popular and also one of the oldest cafes in Albany and still doing so well today! The cafe is a cute spot, with stool seating indoor and some tables outside. It's a bit unassuming but the bustle of the place definitely reflects how popular it is. They have so many options of sandwiches and to create your own and it is delicious!! The rolls were perfect and not tough at all, the sandwiches were so well done, I highly recommend the Lark street, the eggplant was so crispy and yum! They have fun specialty lattes and coffee as well. The girls working were welcoming and nice. While there was a bit of a wait, it's worth it and the do have an order ahead option too.

Looking for a romantic, candle lit spot with drinks for date night? Look no further…read more If you want a quaint spot for a glass of wine and a snack with friends, look no further. Lucas Confectionary has such a warm, inviting vibe all around. It may not be a one stop dinner spot, but it is an amazing pre-dinner stop for some drinks and appetite inducing snacks. With the extremely limited menu and offerings, you expect everything to be thoughtful and serve a purpose, and they deliver. For my drink, I ordered one of the red blends and it was very good for sipping along side a board of charcuterie and cheese My small group opted for the "pick three" option for a board. We ordered the manchego, smoked duck breast, and the pâté. It was a superb plate. The manchego was salty and funky, offered with dried apricots. The pate was rich and fatty, offered with whole grain mustard, pickled onions and cornichons. The smoked duck was offered with a blueberry-mustard compote. Also all accompanied with some nice fresh bread. Each flavor served a purposed and made for several tasty bites that piqued my interest. For a pre-dinner stop, I was very impressed. Also, sad to see this location absolutely empty on a Saturday evening. Lucas Confectioary is a perfect spot for an intimate date night, meeting friends, an after work drink, girls night, etc. Highly recommend a visit here!
