worst firm i've ever came across!!! if alexandra gets your case, definitely prepare to lose!! she's very incompetent af should be disbanded from practicing law as she couldn't even give me a definite for coercion from black's law dictionary. read more

they claim to offer free consultations but that's only for cases they can profit significantly from. all I wanted was quick legal advice. however, I had to talk to some aid who sounded like I was inconveniencing her for doing her job. then I was told I'd hear back from them. when I did, it was just a generic email saying they wont take my case. I don't need you to take my case. I just wanted the free consultation to see if I have a case. they use the guise of a free consultation to give you false hopes. terrible business practice. don't waste your time. read more

Tried to hire them, and wasted a lot of time and effort in the process. When it became apparent that they could not bill me enough, they dropped the case. Its all about the money, not you. Take your problem to someone who has integrity, there are some out there, but not this firm read more

I used this firm once more as I kept getting robocalls on my cellphone with a (at first) frightening opening that begins with "The FBI..." which went on to say how many places were broken into and was peddling home security systems. I eventually started logging the date, time, #, etc and emailed Francis since I had his contact info from before. They determined it was actionable and shortly after they assigned Cassandra Miller who took a class action against the parties involved which eventually was going to be rolled into an existing one, and I finally settled. She did a great job and I got a little settlement but most importantly the god damned phone calls stopped. I also got a referral from Francis for a real estate attorney to handle the purchase of our new condo which worked out very well. read more

Stay away from this firm. They took on an identity theft case of mine promising to resolve the issue after which they came back and offered a settlement worse than the one I negotiated myself prior to obtaining their service. When I told them that they said they won't represent me anymore. Took all the money I gave them and went silent. They also have a high turnover rate. I couldn't keep up with who was handling the case as every time I reached our the "associate lawyer" they assigned was no longer with the company. Thousands of dollars spent for this type of treatment. read more

I found myself facing a large issue with a debt collector and wasn't sure how to proceed. I thankfully found this firm through google and retained them to represent me. This find was the best decision ever! They knew the debt collector and knew the best course of action. The case was dismissed with prejudice (meaning it was dismissed forever). I can't thank them enough. I didn't have to attend court or anything - they handled every last detail - talk about a stress reliever. They even helped me navigate a future case without actually retaining them. Just all around good people. If you find yourself against a debt collector, there simply isn't any better firm to represent you! Hire this firm today! read more

I engaged Francis Greene when a particularly aggressive junk debt collector surprised me with a summons one night during dinner. I have a very common name and I wouldn't be lying if I said erroneous filings had found me before looking for another person. Anyhow, I went through the usual steps and asked the collectors attorney to verify the debt belonged to me as there was no record of it on my credit report. I included a copy of my credit report with my answer to the summons so there was a document trail this was a mistake. That did very little to dissuade the firm and they would not back off. I appeared in court about 15 minutes early so I could see how the process flowed and was very disturbed by the level of kinship the judge showed toward the collectors attorney. It was very clear to me there was no objectivity in this courtroom anywhere. The judge seemed to be annoyed that I wanted to explain that this debt is not mine and this was an error. She only asked me if I had spoken to opposing counsel and what I intended to do about the debt. I replied I was going to fight it. That must have annoyed her more because she immediately started asking me why I didn't just settle it now and get it over with. She set a trail date and that was that. I knew I was in over my head so I got on the phone immediately. Enter Francis the wonder attorney..... I engaged the firm because it was very clear after my experience that I really needed a professional as the judge was in no way going to listen. Francis contacted me after i submitted all the documentation I had provided the court in my initial reply and followups. He was very optimistic that this could be defeated and immediately got to work. From that moment on, I only had to answer a few questions and Francis did the rest.. The process took several months but i never had to pay a single penny more than the initial fee. Francis was excellent in keeping me apprised of his actions, my responsibilities, communications and possible outcomes as the process progressed. Francis kept in constant contact with me and was very clear about what steps we would be taking and all the possibilities that would stem from each action. His first action was to get the case transferred out to a different judge as the assigned judge has a very well documented reputation for being bias. 10 minutes of research on the Internet can be really shocking. His second action was to handle all the necessary court filings and motions. Going into the day of the trial, Francis even advised me he would handle this appearance personally and that I did not need to appear. Long story short, the case was dismissed with prejudice due to Francis's excellent work. I am out Francis's fee but the case was for 10x+ what he charged me to defend me. I feel I got the better end of the deal and will absolutely engage him again if similar circumstances require it. UPDATE*** The same attorney that found me before came back and tried to sue me a second time. Called Francis and the junk collectors attrney beat a hasty retreat and offered to drop the case as long as we didn't go after him. My advice : Don't think about getting representation if you are getting pursued by junk debt collectors - just call these guys and get them working on the case for you. read more

Horrible! As my law firm in a class action suit they are less than 1 star but that is the lowest I can give them. Twice my review has been removed - what does that tell you? This time there wasn't enough information... well I can give you more information. This case has been going on 4 years now and we still don't have a resolution. Every time the case is supposed to be First of all our original lawyer / advocate Tom Soule (good guy) was fired or let go - they did not bother to inform the class about this nor would they give us any more information. So after a couple years we lost our advocate and had no one keeping us informed or that we could talk to or ask questions. I personally wrote to the partners at this firm regarding our dissatisfaction and all I got was - "I'm sorry you feel that way... just keep checking the website...." (The website is a joke - it didn't change for a year and it gives you one word like - "processing" - Gee that is helpful.) These lawyers are making millions from us but can't seem to be bothered to share information or have an ounce of compassion. Thousands of people have lost their pets and are still grieving many years after the fact. They fit the lawyer stereotype - all about the money, no compassion, no regard for the people affected and useless communication. that had to be pried from them. What we did get was lawyer talk that didn't explain anything and had a condescending tone. Thoroughly disgusted Avoid this firm if you want any answers or someone to care. Is that enough information??? If not, I have more. read more

I have nothing but good things to say about Edelman Combs Latturner & Goodwin. They've always been polite and very professional. They have always listened to what I had to say and given a straight honest answer that I could understand. I have nothing negative to say. Honest truth. If they take your case you know you are in good hands. And just for the record I've used them a few times and always been treated fairly. read more

I did a lot of research before I chose an attorney to handle my case. An awful lot. Edelman, Combs, Latturner & Goodwin is extremely well regarded, and came very highly recommended. Francis Greene saved my sanity, and (as I'm discovering now) possibly my financial life. A chance encounter revealed a default judgment had been granted for thousands of dollars to a law firm I'd never heard of, for a bill I'd never owed, to a company that was a total mystery to me. The fact that I have one of the Western world's most common names and had moved out of the area long before I was allegedly served was apparently irrelevant. My fiancee (Yale Law School grad) refused to believe at first that this was even possible. "How can a company simply go before a judge, make a claim against a person for thousands of dollars on slim to no proof, and have it rubber-stamped with no one present on hand to present a defense? That's not how the law works." How indeed. After speaking to Francis, you learn a hard truth--this Kafkaesque scenario takes place thousands of times a year in this country. Collection agencies today run roughshod over the law, with the credit reporting agencies along for the ride. And lives are destroyed because of it. As noted by others here: all the staff is terrific. I was completely (and I mean totally, utterly) freaked out, and they took the reins immediately, and filed all of the necessary documents, and handled it all. I never stepped foot inside a courtroom. (Neither did the lawyer for the other side -- once we filed, he never appeared again.) The judgment was vacated by the civil court. I was stunned how quickly it was resolved. Yes, it may cost you out of pocket to right a similar wrong. I consider the money well spent, not only because of what I will save in interest from improved FICO scores, but saved in additional grief and aggravation over the years. If you think you can't afford to hire counsel to solve this type of problem, try to remember how common it is for potential employers to run LexisNexis and credit searches--and how completely devastating something like this can be on your record during your next job hunt (for example). On that basis alone it is worth speaking to a lawyer, to see if you have a case. And if it's any situation where you've been sued by a collection agency or creditor, for any reason whatsoever, I can't recommend Francis Greene more highly. read more

I contacted Edelman, Combs, Latturner & Goodwin after being harassed by a debt collector. I heard of their reputation as a premier consumer protection law firm. I worked with Cassandra Miller and couldn't be happier with her representation. I received a settlement far beyond what I had expected. My case was never on the "back burner" and I received regular updates from Cassandra until we reached a favorable resolution. If ever you believe you are being harassed by a debt collector or have a debt collection issue I highly recommend contacting Edelman Combs and specifically Ms. Miller. read more

Best Law Firm.. I was very happy on the prompt action Cassandra Miller took on my suit. I not only received a timely action but she had went above and beyond on my suit. I received more than I thought I was going to. Thank you to Cassandra for all of your hard work. I would recommend you to any one. read more

Once they get you involved in a case and get the information from you to proceed with legal action, they never contact you to let you know how the case is progressing. They are attentive at first, then purposely ignore you after legal action begins. I send emails and they are not returned. I call to get a status and they reluctantly tell me and then rush me off the phone. I expected better from them. I'm surprised that they don't even want to meet me in person, my name is listed as the plantiff in the case. Is it typical that lawyers igore you once legal action begins? Did anyone else out there have the same experience with this law firm? Or is this common practice at all law firms and I'm just naive. read more
