This attorney explained that I could never have custody of my daughter because I was the father. This attorney advised me to setup a standard parenting agreement that amounted to very little visitation on my part. I started with Lyn in 2005 and by 2007 I had sole custody of my daughter. Divorces are hard, but Conniff Law Offices made the experience even worse. Communication was impossible. Emails and questions went unanswered for several days. That I could have lived with. After my ex-wife would not let me see my son Kelley suggested we file an emergency petition. Maybe it was naive of me to trust her that this was the right move. When we went in front of the judge with the emergency petition he flatly said it was 'in no way a reason for an emergency petition'. I should've researched grounds for emergency petition before I agreed. In Illinois the only reason to request an emergency petition appears to be when a child is in danger. I trusted Kelley to know the law and not waste my time or money. She never apologized for the unnecessary stress and cost of filing the emergency petition. She charged several thousand dollars for the emergency petition. I now have no more money left to hire a new lawyer. I feel completely scammed. read more
